Colossians 1:1-29
1 Me, Paul, wey be apostle of Christ Jesus because na wetin God want, and Timothy our brother
2 de write to the holy ones and faithful brothers for Co·los′sae wey be one with Christ:
Make the special favor and peace from God our Papa dey with una.
3 We de always thank God wey be the Papa of our Lord Jesus Christ when we de pray for una,
4 since we hear about una faith for Christ Jesus and the love wey una get for all the holy ones
5 because of the hope wey God keep for una for heaven. Una don hear about this hope before, the time wey una hear the true message of the good news
6 wey come reach una. Just as the good news de bear fruit and de spread for all the world, na so e still de happen among una from the day wey una hear and really know the special favor of God as e really be.
7 This one na wetin una don learn from our dear Ep′a·phras wey be slave like us and wey be faithful servant of Christ for us.
8 E still tell us about the love wey the holy spirit de help una show.*
9 Na this one still be the reason why from the day wey we hear about-am, we never stop to pray for una, and de tell God say make e help una to really know the correct teaching about wetin e want, to really get sense, and to make the spirit help una understand everything.
10 This one go make una de live una life as people wey de serve Jehovah, so that una go really make-am happy as una continue to produce fruit for every good work and de know more about the correct teaching from God.
11 And make the wonderful power of God give una all the power wey una need to dey strong, so that una go dey patient and get joy as una de endure well.
12 And make una de thank God our Papa wey make una qualify to get wetin e don promise the holy ones wey dey for the light.
13 E save us from the authority of darkness, and carry us put for the kingdom of im Son wey e love.
14 Na this im Son e use pay the price to free us, and this one mean say God don forgive our sins.
15 This Son na the image of the God wey people no fit see, and na the firstborn for everything wey God make.
16 God use-am make all other things for heaven and for earth. The things wey person fit see and the things wey person no fit see, whether them be thrones, or people wey de rule, or governments, or people for high position. God make all the other things through-am and for-am.
17 Another thing na say, e don dey before all other things, and God use-am to make all other things,
18 and e be the head of the body wey be the congregation. Na im be first, the first person wey come back to life among people wey don die, so that e fit be the person wey be first for everything,
19 because God happy to make-am complete for everything.
20 God use im Son to make peace with all the other things, whether na things for this earth or na things for heaven. This peace dey possible because of the blood wey Christ pour ontop the torture pole.*
21 True-true, e get one time wey una dey far from God, and una be enemies of God, because una mind dey for wicked things.
22 But now, e don use the human body of im Son as e die to make una im friends again, so that e go fit show una for front of God as people wey dey holy, wey no get stain, and wey nobody go fit talk bad about,
23 as long as say una continue for the faith, una stand strong for the foundation and no de shake, and nothing de shift una comot from the hope of that good news wey una don hear and wey them don preach for everywhere under heaven. God choose me, Paul, as im servant, to preach this good news.
24 I de really happy now to suffer for una, and I feel say I never suffer reach as I suppose suffer as part of the body of Christ, wey be the congregation.
25 I become servant for this congregation because of the work wey God give me, to preach the word of God well for una gain.
26 Yes, to preach the holy secret wey the world of that time* and people wey don live before, no know. But now, e don show-am to im holy ones.
27 God don really happy to show this people among the nations the wonderful things wey get value, wey be the holy secret. This holy secret na Christ wey dey as one with una, wey mean the hope wey una get to get honor with-am.
28 Na im be the person wey we de tell people about. We de warn everybody and de use complete sense to teach everybody, so that we fit help everybody wey dey as one with Christ to mature.
29 So because of this one, I de really work hard, and I de do my best with im power wey de do powerful work inside me.
