Hebrews 4:1-16
4 So since the promise to enter im rest still dey, make we protect ourself,* so that nobody among una go be like say e miss-am.
2 And we too hear the good news wey them tell us, just like them. But the message wey them hear no benefit them because them no get the same faith with people wey listen.
3 We wey don show faith, enter the rest, just as e don talk say: “So I vex swear say, ‘Them no go enter my rest,’” even though say im work don finish from when the world start.
4 For one place, e talk about the seventh day say: “And God rest for the seventh day from all im work,”
5 and e talk for here again say: “Them no go enter my rest.”
6 So since some people still remain to enter the rest, and people wey first hear the good news no enter because them no obey,
7 e mark one day again when e talk long time after for psalm of David say, “Today”; just as this letter don talk before say, “Today if una listen to im voice, make una no make una heart stubborn.”
8 Because if Joshua don lead them enter place of rest, God no for talk after, about another day.
9 So the day of rest wey be like Sabbath day still remain for servants of God.
10 And the person wey enter God rest, don still rest from im own work, just as God rest from im own work.
11 So make we do our best to enter that rest, so that nobody go follow the same example of people wey no obey.
12 The word of God dey alive and e get power to affect person. And e sharp pass any sword wey get two sharp side. E fit even chuk person to divide the soul* and spirit,* and divide joint and marrow.* And e fit know the things wey person de think and the plans for im heart.
13 And nothing wey God make fit hide make e no see-am, but everything dey naked and really open well for the eye of the person wey we must answer to.
14 So since we get great high priest wey don go heaven, Jesus the Son of God, make we continue to tell people about our faith for Jesus.
15 We no get high priest wey no fit understand where we dey weak. Instead, we get the one wey don face test for everything like us, but wey no get sin.
16 So make we near the throne of special favor and dey free to talk to God so that we go fit get mercy and special favor from God to help us for the correct time.
