4  When the Lord know say the Pharisee people don hear say e don de get and de baptize more disciples pass John—  even though say Jesus no use im hand baptize anybody, but na im disciples baptize them—  e comot from Ju·deʹa de go Galʹi·lee again.  But e come be say e must pass Sa·marʹi·a go.  So e come one Sa·marʹi·a city wey them de call Syʹchar, wey near the land wey Jacob give im pikin Joseph.  Jacob well even dey there. Now, Jesus be sitdown near the well as e don tire because of the journey, and this time, na around the sixth hour.*  Then one Sa·marʹi·a woman come fetch water, Jesus come tell-am say: “Give me water make I drink.”  (That time im disciples don go inside the city go buy food.)  The Sa·marʹi·tan woman come ask-am say: “How e be say you, wey be Jew, de tell me wey be Sa·marʹi·tan woman say make I give you water?” (Because Jew people no de do things with Sa·marʹi·tan people.) 10  Jesus come answer-am say: “If to say you know the free gift of God and the person wey de tell you say, ‘Give me water,’ you for tell-am make e give you water, and e for give you water of life.” 11  The woman come tell-am say: “Oga, you no even get bucket wey them take de draw water, and the well deep, so na from where you want get this water of life? 12  You no big pass our papa-papa Jacob, wey give us this well, and wey drink water from this well with im sons and im animals, abi you big pass-am?” 13  Jesus come answer the woman say: “Everybody wey de drink water from this well go still hungry for water again. 14  Anybody wey drink the water wey I go give-am no go ever hungry for water again. Instead, the water wey I go give-am go turn to spring of water inside-am, wey de bring out water wey go give-am life wey no go end.” 15  The woman tell-am say: “Oga, give me this water, so that I no go hungry for water again, or de come this place to come fetch water.” 16  E tell-am say: “Go call your husband make you and-am come this place.” 17  The woman come tell-am say: “I no get husband.” Jesus come tell-am say: “You correct as you talk say, ‘I no get husband.’ 18  Because you be don marry five men before, and the man wey you dey with now, no be your husband. So wetin you talk na true.” 19  The woman tell-am say: “Oga, e be like say you be prophet. 20  Our papa-papa them be worship God for this mountain, but una talk say the correct place to worship God na for Jerusalem.” 21  Then Jesus tell-am say: “Make you believe me, woman, the time de come wey e be say, no be for this mountain or for Jerusalem una go worship the Papa. 22  Una de worship wetin una no know. We de worship wetin we know, because na Jew people be the first to know wetin person go do make God save-am. 23  But the time de come, and na now, when the real people wey de worship the Papa go worship-am with spirit and truth, because true-true, na this kind people the Papa de find make them worship-am. 24  God na Spirit, and the people wey de worship-am must worship-am with spirit and truth.” 25  The woman tell-am say: “I know say Messiah de come, wey them de call Christ. Anytime wey that one come, e go explain everything clear for us.” 26  Jesus tell-am say: “Na me wey de talk to you, be the person.” 27  Na that time im disciples come back, and them surprise because e de talk with woman. But, nobody ask-am say: “Wetin you de find?” or “Why you de talk to the woman?” 28  So the woman comot leave im water pot and go the city go tell the people say: 29  “Make una come see one man wey tell me everything wey I don do. Abi na this man be the Christ?” 30  The people come comot from the city and start to come meet-am. 31  As this one de happen, im disciples be de beg-am say: “Rabbi, make you chop.” 32  But e tell them say: “I get food to chop wey una no know.” 33  So the disciples come de ask each other say: “Abi somebody bring food for-am to chop?” 34  Jesus come tell them say: “My food na to do wetin the person wey send me come want and to finish im work. 35  No be four months una talk say e remain before them go start to harvest things? See! I de tell una say: Make una raise una eye, and look the farm them, to see say them don ready for harvest. Even now, 36  the person wey de harvest don de get im pay, and e don de gather fruits for life wey no go end, so that the person wey plant and the person wey de harvest go happy together. 37  Because for this matter, this thing wey them de talk na true say: One person na who de plant, and the other one na who de harvest. 38  I send una go harvest wetin una no work for. Na other people do the work, but na una de gain from the work wey them do.” 39  Many of the Sa·marʹi·tan people wey come from that city put faith for-am because of wetin the woman talk, say: “E tell me all the things wey I don do.” 40  So when the Sa·marʹi·tan people come meet-am, them tell-am say make e still stay with them, and e stay there for two days. 41  And this one make plenty other people believe, because of wetin e talk, 42  and them tell the woman say: “No be just wetin you talk make us believe now, because we ourself don hear wetin e talk, and we know say true-true, na this man go save the world.” 43  After the two days don pass, e comot from there go Galʹi·lee. 44  But Jesus talk by imself say them no de honor prophet for im own area. 45  So when e reach Galʹi·lee, the people of Galʹi·lee welcome-am, because them don see all the things wey e do for Jerusalem for the festival, and that na because them too go the festival. 46  Then e come Caʹna wey dey Galʹi·lee again, where e be turn water to wine. Now for Ca·perʹna·um, e get one man wey de work for king, and im son de sick. 47  When this man hear say Jesus don comot from Ju·deʹa go Galʹi·lee, e go meet-am and beg-am say make e come heal im pikin, because e remain small make the pikin die. 48  But Jesus tell-am say: “If una no see miracles and wonderful things, una no go ever believe.” 49  The man wey de work for king come tell-am say: “Lord, abeg come, so that my pikin no go die.” 50  Jesus come tell-am say: “Make you de go, your pikin don well.”* The man believe wetin Jesus tell-am, e come comot. 51  But as e dey road de go house, im slaves come meet-am and tell-am say im boy don well.* 52  So e ask them the time wey the pikin well. Them answer-am say: “The fever comot from im body yesterday for the seventh hour.”* 53  The papa come know say na the exact time wey Jesus tell-am say: “Your pikin don well.” So the man and everybody for im house come believe. 54  This na the second miracle wey Jesus do when e come from Ju·deʹa to Galʹi·lee.
