14  For another time, e go chop for the house of one of the leaders of the Pharisee people for Sabbath day, and them de put eye for-am well-well.  And see! one man wey get one sickness wey make im body swell* dey im front.  So Jesus ask the people wey sabi the Law well-well and the Pharisee people say: “E good to cure person for Sabbath day or e no good?”  But them no talk anything. So e hold the man, heal-am and tell-am make e go.  Then e tell them say: “Who among una wey im son or bull fall inside well for Sabbath day, no go carry-am come out quick-quick?”  Them no fit answer im question.  Then when e see the way the people wey them invite de choose the place them wey better pass, e come use one example talk to them. E tell them say:  “When person invite you go marriage party, make you no go sitdown for the place wey better pass, because e fit be say the person still invite another person wey high pass you.  Then the person wey invite two of una go come meet you and tell you say, ‘Make this person sitdown for where you sitdown so.’ Then you go use shame stand up go sitdown for the place wey low pass. 10  But when them invite you, go sitdown for the place wey low pass, so that when the man wey invite you come, e go tell you say, ‘My friend, go sitdown for the high place.’ Then you go get respect for the front of all the other people wey them invite too. 11  Because everybody wey de raise imself up, them go bring-am down, but anybody wey de bring imself down, them go raise-am up.” 12  E come still tell the man wey invite-am say: “When you de invite people to come chop or de do evening party, make you no call your friends or your brothers or your family people or your neighbors wey get money, because them too fit invite you when them get party and e go be say them don pay you back. 13  But when you de do party, make you invite poor people, people wey no fit use their hand or leg, people wey no fit waka, people wey blind, 14  and you go happy because them no get anything to use pay you back, but God go pay you back when e go bring righteous people back to life.” 15  When one of the people wey them invite hear this one, e come talk say: “Person wey de chop* for the Kingdom of God go happy.” 16  Jesus come tell-am say: “One man be de do big evening party and e invite plenty people. 17  When the time for the evening party reach, e come send im slaves go meet people wey e invite to tell them say, ‘Make una come, because everything don ready.’ 18  But all of them come de give excuse. The first one talk say, ‘I buy one land and I need to go see-am, abeg no vex I no go fit come.’ 19  Another one talk say, ‘I buy ten cow* and I want go check them well, abeg no vex I no go fit come.’ 20  And another one talk say, ‘I just marry, because of this one I no go fit come.’ 21  Then the slave come and tell im oga all this things, the oga of the house come vex and tell the slave say, ‘Quick-quick, go the streets wey plenty people de pass and the small streets for the city and bring poor people, people wey no fit use their leg or hand, blind people and people wey no fit waka.’ 22  When the slave come back, e talk say, ‘Oga, we don do wetin you talk, but the house never still full.’ 23  So the oga tell the slave say, ‘Go the main roads and the other small-small roads and convince the people make them come so that my house go full. 24  Because I de tell una say nobody among those people wey I first invite go taste the food wey I cook for this evening party.’” 25  Now, plenty-plenty people be de travel with-am, then e turn and tell them say: 26  “If anybody come meet me and e no hate* im papa, mama, wife, children, brothers, sisters, and even im own life,* e no fit be my disciple. 27  Anybody wey no carry im torture pole* and follow me, no fit be my disciple. 28  For example, who among una wey want build big house* no go first sitdown and check how much e go spend to see whether e get enough money to complete-am? 29  If not, e go do the foundation, but no go fit finish-am, and all the people wey de see-am go start to use-am do yeye, 30  de talk say: ‘This man start to build house but no fit finish-am.’ 31  Or which king wey want go fight war with another king, no go first sitdown and discuss with people wey de advice-am to see whether e fit use 10,000 soldiers win the king wey de come with 20,000 soldiers? 32  If true-true e see say e no go fit win, then when the other king still dey far, e go sofri send people go meet-am make them settle the matter. 33  For the same way, make una know say nobody among una wey no tell everything wey e get bye-bye* go fit be my disciple. 34  “True-true, salt good. But if the taste of the salt comot, how them fit make-am get taste again? 35  E no get any use for the ground, and them no fit use-am as manure. Na troway people de troway-am. Make person wey get ear to listen, listen.”
