Luke 18:1-43
18 Then e use one example tell them why them need to always pray and make them no tire.
2 E talk say: “E get one judge wey be dey for one city, wey no de fear God and e no de respect anybody.
3 And e get one widow for that city too wey de always go meet the judge de tell-am say, ‘Abeg make sure say I get the correct judgment for the matter between me and the other person.’
4 For some time, the man be no want do like that, but after, e tell imself say, ‘Even though say I no de fear God or respect anybody,
5 but because this widow de always come disturb me, I go make sure say e get the correct judgment, so that e no go continue to come use im trouble finish me.’”
6 Then the Lord talk say: “Make una hear wetin the judge talk even though say no be righteous person e be!
7 So una no think say God go help im people wey e don choose, wey de cry to-am day and night to get the correct judgment, as e de sofri wait for them?
8 I de tell una say, e go make sure say them get the correct judgment quick-quick. But when the Son of man go come, e go really see this faith* for the earth?”
9 E still use another example talk to some people wey trust theirself say them dey righteous and de see other people as nothing:
10 “Two men go pray for temple, one na Pharisee person and the other one na person wey de collect tax.
11 The Pharisee person stand, de pray for inside im heart, de talk say, ‘O God, I thank you say I no be like all other people, people wey de collect person thing with force, people wey no de do wetin correct for your eye, people wey don marry wey de sleep with another person, or even like this person wey de collect tax.
12 I de fast two times for one week, and I de give the tenth part for all the things wey I get.’
13 But the person wey de collect tax, wey stand for far place, no want even look up, instead e continue de nack im chest de talk say, ‘O God, abeg pity me, I be sinner.’
14 I de tell una say, this man go back to im house as person wey dey righteous pass the Pharisee person, because everybody wey de raise imself up, them go bring-am down, but anybody wey bring imself down, them go raise-am up.”
15 That time, people come still de bring their small-small children come meet-am so that e go touch them, but when the disciples see this one, them come de shout for them.
16 But Jesus call the small-small children near body, de talk say: “Leave the small children make them come meet me, and make una no try to stop them, because the Kingdom of God na for people like this.
17 True-true, I de tell una say, anybody wey no accept the Kingdom of God like small pikin, no go ever enter inside.”
18 One of the people wey de rule come ask-am say: “Good Teacher, wetin I suppose do to fit get life wey no go end?”
19 Jesus tell-am say: “Why you de call me good? Nobody good except one person, God.
20 You know wetin dey the commandments: ‘Make you no sleep with person wey no be your husband or wife, make you no kill person, make you no thief, make you no talk say person do wetin e no do, honor your papa and your mama.’”
21 Then e talk say: “I don de do all this things from when I small.”
22 When Jesus hear this one, e come tell-am say, “One thing still de miss for your life. Sell all the things wey you get, and share the money give poor people, and you go get better thing for heaven; and then come de follow me.”
23 When e hear this one, e pain-am no be small, because e get plenty money.
24 Jesus come look-am and talk say: “E go really hard for people wey get money to enter the Kingdom of God!
25 The truth be say, e easy pass for camel to enter the hole wey dey needle wey them take de sew things, than for rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.”
26 The people wey hear this one come talk say: “Who them fit really save?”
27 E talk say: “The things wey no dey possible for people dey possible for God.”
28 But Peter talk say: “See! We don leave the things wey we be get and follow you.”
29 Jesus come tell them say: “True-true, I de tell una say e no get anybody wey don leave house, or wife, or brothers, or papa and mama, or children because of the Kingdom of God,
30 wey be say for this time e no go get plenty pass as e first get, and for the new world* wey de come, e go get life wey no go end.”
31 Then e carry the 12 apostles go corner* and tell them say: “See! Na Jerusalem we de go so, and all the things wey them use the prophets write about the Son of man go happen.*
32 For example, them go carry-am give people wey no de serve God and them go use-am do yeye, treat-am anyhow and spit for im body.
33 And after them don flog-am, them go kill-am, but for the third day, e go come back to life.”
34 But them no understand wetin any of this things mean, because them hide the word from them, so them no understand the things wey e talk.
35 As Jesus don de near Jer′i·cho, one blind man be sitdown near the road de beg.
36 As e hear the noise of plenty people wey de pass, e come de ask people wetin de happen.
37 Them tell-am say: “Na Jesus, wey come from Naz·a·reth de pass!”
38 When e hear this one, e come shout de talk say: “Jesus, Son of David, pity me!”
39 The people wey dey front come de shout for-am, de tell-am say make e shut up, but e come de shout more-more say: “Son of David, pity me!”
40 Jesus come stop and talk say make them bring the man to-am. When the man don near Jesus, e ask-am say:
41 “Wetin you want make I do for you?” E talk say: “Lord, help me make I fit see again.”
42 So Jesus tell-am say: “Make you start to see again; your faith don make you well.”
43 At once, e come de see, and e start to follow Jesus, de praise God. And when all the people see wetin happen, them come start to praise God.
