Luke 19:1-48

19  Then e enter Jer′i·cho and e be de pass-am de go.  Now one man be dey there wey im name na Zac·chae′us. Na oga of people wey de collect tax e be, and e get money well-well.  E be de try to see this person wey them de call Jesus but as e be say e short, e no fit see-am because of the plenty people.  So e run go front go climb one sycamore* tree so that e go see-am because Jesus go soon pass that place.  Now as Jesus reach the place, e look up and tell-am say: “Zac·chae′us, come down quick-quick, I must stay for your house today.”  As e hear this one, e just come down quick-quick and e happy well-well to welcome-am come im house.  When the people see this one, all of them come de complain de talk say: “Na person wey be sinner e go stay im house.”  But Zac·chae′us stand up and tell the Lord say: “See! Lord, I de give half of my things to poor people and anything wey I collect from anybody by force,* I go give-am back times four.”  As Jesus hear this one, e come tell-am say: “Today them don save this house because na Abraham pikin e be too. 10  Because the Son of man come to find and save wetin lost.” 11  As them de listen to this things, e come give another example because e don near Jerusalem and them de think say the Kingdom of God go appear at once. 12  So e talk say: “One man wey come from king family travel go one far place to collect power wey e go take become king and come back. 13  Then e call ten of im slaves, give them ten mi′nas* and tell them say, ‘Make una use them do business until I come back.’ 14  But im country people hate-am, so them send people follow-am to talk say, ‘We no want make this man be our king.’ 15  “When e don come back after e don collect power to be king,* e call the slaves wey e give money* so that e go know how much them don gain from their business. 16  So the first one come and talk say, ‘Lord, I get gain of ten mi′nas from the mi′na wey you give me.’ 17  E come tell-am say, ‘You do well, better slave, because for small thing wey no reach anything you show say them fit trust you. Make you control ten cities.’ 18  Then the second one come and talk say, ‘Lord, I get gain of five mi′nas from the mi′na wey you give me.’ 19  E tell this one too say, ‘Make you self control five cities.’ 20  But another one come and talk say, ‘Lord, na your mi′na be this, I hide-am inside cloth. 21  The thing be say, I be de fear you because you be harsh man, you de take wetin you no keep and you de harvest for where you no plant.’ 22  E tell-am say, ‘Na wetin you use your own mouth talk I go take judge you, wicked slave. You de talk say I be harsh man wey de take wetin I no keep and de harvest wetin I no plant, abi? 23  So why you no put my money* for bank? So that as I come back, I go collect-am with interest.’ 24  “So e tell the people wey stand for there say, ‘Make una collect the mi′na from-am and give-am to the person wey get ten mi′nas.’ 25  But them tell-am say, ‘Lord, e don already get ten mi′nas!’— 26  ‘I de tell una say, anybody wey get, them go give-am more, but anybody wey no get, even the one wey e get them go collect-am from-am. 27  Now, make una bring those my enemies wey no want make I be their king come here and kill them for my front.’” 28  After Jesus don talk this things, e continue im journey de go Jerusalem. 29  And when e don near Beth′pha·ge and Beth′a·ny for the mountain wey them de call Mount of Olives, e send two of im disciples message. 30  E tell them say: “Make una go inside that village wey una de see so, and after una don enter inside, una go see small donkey* wey them tie wey nobody don ever sitdown ontop. Make una loose-am and bring-am come here. 31  But if anybody ask una say, ‘Why una de loose-am?’ una must talk say, ‘The Lord need-am.’” 32  The people wey e send come go and see-am just as e tell them. 33  But as them de loose the small donkey, the people wey get-am come ask them say: “Why una de loose the small donkey?” 34  Them come talk say: “The Lord need-am.” 35  Then them bring-am come give Jesus, them put their cloths* ontop the small donkey, then Jesus sitdown ontop. 36  As e de go, them de spread their cloths* for road. 37  As e just de near the road wey go down from the Mount of Olives, all the plenty disciples start to happy and de praise God with loud voice because of all the miracles wey them don see. 38  Them talk say: “The person wey de come as King for Jehovah name na person wey them don bless! Make peace dey for heaven and make the God wey dey heaven get glory!” 39  But some of the Pharisee people wey dey among the plenty people tell-am say: “Teacher, tell your disciples make them shut up.” 40  But e answer say: “I de tell una say, if this people no talk anything, the stones go shout.” 41  And when e don near the city, e look-am and e cry for-am, 42  de talk say: “If to say you even fit know today, the things wey de bring peace—but now, them don hide this things so that you no go fit see them with your eyes. 43  Because the days de come when your enemies go use long-long stick wey the mouth sharp block everywhere around you, and them go surround you and attack* you from every corner. 44  Them go scatter you and your children wey dey inside you for ground, and them no go leave one stone make e remain ontop another stone inside you, because you be no notice the time when them come check you.” 45  Then e enter inside the temple and start to pursue the people wey de sell things, 46  de tell them say: “Them write-am say, ‘My house go be house of prayer,’ but una don turn-am to where thief people de hide.” 47  And e continue to de teach them everyday for the temple, but the chief priests and the scribes* and the leaders of the people de find how them go kill-am, 48  but them no see how them go take do this one because all the people continue to dey around-am and de listen to-am.
