20  One day when e de teach the people for temple and de preach the good news, the chief priests and the scribes* with the elders come,  and ask-am say: “Tell us, which right you get to do this things? Or who send you to do them?”  E answer them say: “I go ask una one question too and make una answer me:  Na from where John get the right to baptize people? Na from heaven or na from people?”  Them come de talk to each other say: “If we talk say, ‘Na from heaven,’ e go talk say, ‘So why una no believe-am?’  But if we talk say, ‘Na from people,’ all the people go stone us because them dey sure say John na prophet.”  So them answer-am say them no know where e get the right from.  Jesus come tell them say: “I no go tell una where I get the right wey I take de do this things too.”  Then e use this example talk to the people say: “One man plant vine farm and give-am to people make them take care of-am. E come travel go another country for long time. 10  When the season reach, e send one slave go meet the people wey de take care of the farm so that them go give-am some of the fruit of the vine farm, but the people wey de take care of the farm pursue-am comot with empty hand after them don beat-am. 11  But e send another slave. Them still beat that one, disgrace-am and pursue-am comot with empty hand. 12  E come still send the third slave, but them still wound this one and troway-am put for outside. 13  So the owner of the vine farm talk say, ‘Wetin I go do? I go send my son wey I love, maybe them go respect-am.’ 14  When the people wey de take care of the farm see-am as e de come, them come tell each other say, ‘Na this one go inherit the property, make we kill-am, so that wetin e suppose get go be our own.’ 15  Them come throw-am outside the vine farm and kill-am. So, wetin the owner of the vine farm go do them? 16  E go come kill this people wey de take care of the farm and give the vine farm to other people.” When them hear this one, them come talk say: “Make this kind thing no ever happen!” 17  But e look them direct and talk say: “So wetin this thing wey them write mean, say: ‘The stone wey the people wey de build house reject don be the main foundation stone’?* 18  Anybody wey fall ontop this stone go scatter and anybody wey the stone fall ontop, the stone go pieces-am.” 19  For that very time, the scribes and the chief priests come de find how them go take hold-am because them see say na because of them e talk this example, but them de fear the people. 20  And after them don watch-am well-well, them come hide hire some people to pretend say them dey righteous, and send them go meet-am so that them fit use wetin e de talk catch-am, then them go carry-am give people for government and the governor. 21  Them come de ask-am question, de talk say: “Teacher, we know say wetin you de talk and teach correct, and you no de do partial, but you de teach the truth about the way of God. 22  E good* make we pay tax* to Caesar abi e no good?” 23  But e know say the question na wayo question, so e tell them say: 24  “Make una show me de·nar′i·us. Which person picture and name dey there?” Them come talk say: “Na Caesar own.” 25  E tell them say: “So make una make sure say una pay back Caesar things to Caesar, but God things to God.” 26  So them no come fit make-am talk wetin no correct for front of the people, but them just keep quiet because the answer wey e give them surprise them no be small. 27  But some of the Sadducee people, wey talk say resurrection no dey, come meet-am and ask-am say: 28  “Teacher, Moses write say, ‘If person brother die and im wife still dey, but e no born any pikin, make im brother marry the wife and born pikin for im brother wey don die. 29  Now, e get seven brothers. The first one marry, but e no born any pikin before e die. 30  So the second one 31  and the third one marry im wife. Na so all the seven brothers marry-am. But all of them die and them no born any pikin. 32  Last-last, the woman too die. 33  So for the resurrection, which person wife e go be? Since the seven of them be marry-am as their wife.” 34  Jesus come tell them say: “The children of this world* de marry and them de give them out for marriage, 35  but the people wey them see say them reach to get life for that world wey de come and wey them go resurrect no go marry, and them no go give them out for marriage. 36  And the truth be say, them no go fit die again because them go be like angels and since them go resurrect them, that one go make them be children of God. 37  But for the matter say them de resurrect people wey don die, even Moses talk about-am for the story about the chuku-chuku tree, when e call Jehovah the God of Abraham, and God of Isaac, and God of Jacob.’ 38  E no be God of people wey don die, but na God of people wey dey alive, because all of them dey alive for im eye.” 39  Then some of the scribes talk say: “Teacher, you talk-am well.” 40  Because them no get the mind again to ask-am even one question. 41  Then Jesus too come ask them say: “Why them talk say Christ na David son? 42  Because David imself talk-am for the book of Psalms say, ‘Jehovah tell my Lord say: “Sitdown for my right hand side 43  until I put your enemies as stool wey you go put your leg ontop.”’ 44  David call-am Lord, so how e take be im pikin?” 45  Then, as all the people de listen, e come tell im disciples say: 46  “Make una dey careful about the scribes, them de like to wear long cloth waka about and like make people de greet them for market area them and them de like to sitdown for front* seats for synagogues and place them wey better pass, when them go evening party, 47  and them de collect everything* wey widows get, and de pray long prayers to show theirself.* Their judgment go strong* pass other people their own.”
