24  But for the first day of the week, them come the grave* for early morning and them carry the things wey get better-better scent wey them don prepare come.  But them see say them don roll the stone comot from the grave,*  and when them enter, them no see the body of the Lord Jesus.  As them de wonder about this one, see! two men wey wear cloth wey de shine come stand for their side.  The women come fear, so them no gree raise up their face. The men come tell them say: “Why una de look for person wey dey alive for where people wey don die dey?  E no dey here, God don bring-am back to life. Make una remember wetin e tell una when e still dey for Gal′i·lee,  when e talk say them go put the Son of man for the hand of sinners and them go kill-am for pole, but e go come back to life for the third day.”  Them come remember wetin e talk,  then, them come back from the grave* and them go tell the 11 apostles and all the other disciples about all this things. 10  This women na Mary Mag′da·lene, Jo·an′na, and Mary the mama of James. And the other women wey follow them come still tell the apostles this things. 11  But for the apostles, e be like say na nonsense the women de talk, so them no gree believe them. 12  But Peter stand up, run go where the grave* dey. When e stretch im neck look inside, e come see only the linen cloth, then e comot, de wonder wetin happen. 13  But see! for that very day, two of the disciples come de travel go one village wey them de call Em·ma′us, wey use about seven miles* far from Jerusalem, 14  and them de talk to each other about all this things wey don happen. 15  Now as them de talk, de discuss this things, Jesus come meet them and start to waka with them, 16  but them no fit recognize-am. 17  E ask them say: “Wetin be this things wey una de argue about as una de waka?” Them come stand for one place and them no happy at all. 18  The one wey im name na Cle′o·pas come ask-am say: “You be stranger wey de stay alone for Jerusalem, wey no know* the things wey don happen for there for this days?” 19  E ask them say: “Which things?” Them tell-am say: “Na the things about Jesus wey come from Naz·a·reth, wey use wetin e talk and do show say e be powerful prophet for God eye and for the eye of all the people, 20  and how our chief priests and people wey de rule us carry-am give people to judge-am say make them kill-am and them nail-am for pole. 21  But we be de think say na this man be the person wey go save Israel. And apart from all this things, na the third day be this since this things happen. 22  Another thing be say, wetin some women among us talk really surprise us because them go the grave* for early morning 23  and when them no see im body, them come come back, de talk say them still see some angels wey tell them say e dey alive. 24  Then some of the people wey be dey with us go where the grave* dey and them see say as the women talk-am na so e just be, but them no see-am.” 25  So e tell them say: “Una wey be people wey no get sense and wey no de quick believe all the things wey the prophets don talk! 26  E no dey important make the Christ suffer this things, and make them give-am im honor?” 27  Then e explain to them all the things wey them don write about-am for inside the Word of God, and na the things wey Moses and all the Prophets write e start from. 28  Last-last, them come near the village wey them de go, but e come do like say e want continue im journey. 29  Them come de beg-am say make e stay, de talk say: “Stay with us, because evening don nearly reach and day go soon dark.” So e follow them enter and stay with them. 30  As e de chop* with them, e come carry bread, bless-am, break-am and start to carry-am give them. 31  When e do this one, their eye come open well, them come recognize-am, but e disappear from them. 32  Them come de tell each other say: “E no really touch our heart as e de talk with us for road, as e de explain the Word of God well for us?” 33  Then, them comot for that very time, and go back to Jerusalem. For there, them see the 11 apostles and the people wey gather with them 34  wey talk say: “True-true, God don bring the Lord back to life and e appear to Simon!” 35  Them too come tell them the things wey happen for road and how the bread wey e break make them recognize-am. 36  As them de talk this things, e just appear among them and tell them say: “Make una get peace.” 37  But because say them shock and fear catch them, them come de think say na spirit them de see. 38  So e ask them say: “Why una de fear, and why una de doubt for una heart? 39  Make una see my hand and my leg, say na me. Make una touch me and see, because spirit no de get the human body and bones wey una de see say I get so.” 40  As e de talk this one, e de show them im hand and im leg. 41  But them no still believe-am because them de happy no be small and the thing de really surprise them. So e ask them say: “Una get anything for there wey person fit chop?” 42  Them come give-am fish wey them roast, 43  e come collect-am and eat-am for their front. 44  Then e tell them say: “Na this things I tell una when I still dey with una, say all the things wey them write about me for the Law of Moses, and for the things wey the prophets write and the ones wey dey for Psalms must happen.” 45  Then e open their minds well so that them go fit really understand the meaning of wetin dey the Word of God, 46  and e tell them say, “Na wetin them write be this, say the Christ go suffer and for the third day, e go stand up from among people wey don die, 47  and because of im name, them go preach to people for all the nations, and this one go start from Jerusalem, say make them repent so that them go fit forgive their sins. 48  Una go talk about this things. 49  And see! I de send una wetin my Papa don promise. But make una stay for the city until una don receive power from heaven.” 50  Then e carry them comot from the city go reach Beth′a·ny, e come raise im hand and bless them. 51  As e de bless them, God separate-am from them and take-am go heaven. 52  Then, them bow down for-am and go back to Jerusalem and them happy no be small. 53  And them de go temple everytime, de praise God.
