Luke 5:1-39
5 E get one time wey plenty people de push and tight Jesus as them de listen to the word of God, and that time e stand near the lake of Gen·nes′a·ret.*
2 E come see two boats wey them tie near the corner of the lake, but the fishermen don comot from the boat de wash their nets.
3 As Jesus enter one of the boats wey be Simon own, e come tell-am say make e still move the boat enter water small. Then e sitdown and start to teach the plenty people from the boat.
4 When e don talk finish, e tell Simon say: “Move the boat go where the water deep, and make una throw una nets for there to catch fish.”
5 But Simon answer-am say: “Teacher, we don try the whole night but we no catch anything, but as you talk, I go throw the nets put for water.”
6 When them do this one, them catch plenty-plenty fish, sotey their nets even start to tear.
7 So them use hand call the people wey them de catch fish together, wey dey the other boat say, make them come help them, and when them come, them pack fish full the two boats sotey the two boats come start to sink.
8 When Simon Peter see wetin happen, e come kneel down for front of Jesus de talk say: “Lord, comot from where I dey because I be sinner.”
9 Because Peter and the people wey dey with-am surprise no be small because of the plenty fish wey them catch.
10 Na so e still be for James and John wey be sons of Zeb′e·dee, and wey de work with Simon. But Jesus tell Simon say: “Make you no fear again, from today go, you go de catch people alive.”
11 So them comot the boats from water, them come leave everything and follow-am.
12 For another time when Jesus dey one of the cities, see! one man be dey there wey leprosy full im body! When e see Jesus, e come kneel down face ground and beg-am say: “Lord, if you want, you fit make me clean.”
13 So e stretch im hand, touch-am and talk say: “I want do-am! Make you dey clean.” At once, the leprosy clear from im body.
14 E come warn the man say make e no tell anybody. And e tell-am say: “But make you go show yourself to the priest and give-am wetin Moses talk say leper wey don clean go give, so that e go show them say you don well.”
15 But the news about-am continue to spread and plenty-plenty people de gather to listen to-am and make e cure the sickness wey them get.
16 But plenty times, e de go different-different area wey people no dey, go pray.
17 One day when e de teach, Pharisee people and the people wey de teach the Law, wey come from every village of Gal′i·lee and Ju·de′a and from Jerusalem be sitdown for there, and Jehovah power dey with-am to heal people.
18 And see! some men de use bed* carry one man come wey no de fit move im body, and them be de try to carry-am inside to put-am for front of Jesus.
19 But as them no see way carry-am reach where Jesus dey because of the plenty people wey full there, them come climb the roof, comot some of the things wey them take cover the roof, and sofri bring-am come down as e dey ontop the bed, for Jesus front.
20 When Jesus see the kind faith wey them get, e come talk say: “My friend, I don forgive your sins.”
21 Then the scribes* and the Pharisee people start to think for their mind and de talk say: “Who be this person wey de talk things wey dey against God? Who fit forgive sins apart from God?”
22 But Jesus know wetin them de think, so e ask them say: “Wetin una de think for una heart?
23 Which one easy pass, to talk say, ‘I don forgive your sins,’ or to talk say, ‘Stand up make you waka’?
24 But so that una go know say the Son of man get authority for this earth to forgive sins—” e come tell the man wey no fit move im body say: “I de tell you say, Stand up, carry your bed and go your house.”
25 Na so e just stand up for their front, carry wetin e be de sleep ontop and go im house, de praise God.
26 And all the people surprise no be small, them come start to praise God and because say the thing really surprise them, them come de talk say: “We don see wonderful things today!”
27 After this one, Jesus comot and see one man wey de collect tax, wey im name na Le′vi, wey sitdown for office where them de pay tax and e tell-am say: “Come de follow me.”
28 E come leave everything, stand up, and start to follow-am.
29 Le′vi come arrange one big party for Jesus for im house, and plenty-plenty people wey de collect tax and other people be dey there de chop* with them.
30 When the Pharisee people and scribes wey dey their group see this one, them come start to complain, de tell im disciples say: “Why una de chop and drink with people wey de collect tax and sinners?”
31 Jesus come answer them say: “People wey their body strong no need doctor, but people wey de sick need-am.
32 No be righteous people I come call, but na sinners, so that them go repent.”
33 Then, them tell-am say: “The disciples of John de fast plenty times and de pray well-well, na so the disciples of Pharisee people de do too, but your disciples de chop and de drink.”
34 Jesus come tell them say: “Una no fit talk say make the friends of the man wey de marry, fast when the man still dey with them, una fit do like that?
35 But time de come wey them go carry the man wey de marry comot leave them, na that time them go fast.”
36 E still give them another example say: “Nobody de cut pieces of new cloth* and use-am patch old cloth. If e do like that, the new cloth go tear comot and the pieces of new cloth no go fit match the old one.
37 Another thing be say, nobody de pour new wine inside old wine bags wey them use animal skin make. If e do like that, the new wine go burst the bags, then the wine go pour troway and the bags go spoil.
38 But na inside new wine bags them must put new wine.
39 After person don drink old wine, e no go want drink new wine, because e go talk say, ‘The old one good.’”
