9 Then e call the 12 apostles together and give them power and authority to pursue all the demons and to cure different-different disease.
2 And e send them comot to preach about the Kingdom of God and to heal people,
3 and e tell them say: “Make una no carry anything as una de go, even stick wey them de hold for hand, or food bag, or bread, or money,* or two cloth.*
4 But for any place wey una enter any house, make una stay there until una comot from that place.
5 And for any place wey people no welcome una, when una de comot from that city, make una shake the dust wey dey una leg comot, so that e go be proof against them.
6 Them come comot and enter all the area from village to village, de tell people the good news and de cure people everywhere.
7 For that time, Herod* wey de rule that area hear everything wey de happen and e confuse no be small, because some people be de talk say John don come back to life,
8 but other people de talk say na E·li′jah don come back and other people still de talk say na one of the prophets for olden days don come back to life.
9 Herod talk say: “I cut John head. So who be this person wey I de hear this things about?” Because of this one, e come de try to see Jesus.
10 When the apostles come back, them tell Jesus everything wey them don do. Then e take them enter one city wey them de call Beth·sa′i·da so that them go dey alone.
11 But as the plenty people know about this one, them come follow-am, and e welcome them well and start to talk to them about the Kingdom of God and e heal people wey de sick.
12 Then evening come reach. The 12 apostles come meet-am and tell-am say: “Tell this plenty people make them de go, so that them go fit go the village them and the areas wey dey around this place to find where them go stay and wetin them go chop because people no de live near this place.”
13 But e tell them say: “Make una give them wetin them go chop.” Them talk say: “We no get anything apart from five bread and two fish, abi we go go buy food for all this people?”
14 Na about 5,000 men be dey there. But e tell im disciples say: “Make una tell them to sitdown group by group, and about 50 people go dey for each group.”
15 Them come do like that and tell all of them say make them sitdown.
16 Then e take the five bread and the two fish, look heaven and pray.* Then e break them and start to give them to the disciples so that them go give them to the people.
17 So all the people chop belleful, and when them gather wetin remain, na 12 baskets e be.
18 Later, when e dey alone de pray, the disciples come meet-am and e ask them say: “Who the people de talk say I be?”
19 Them answer-am say: “John the Baptist, other people say E·li′jah and other people de talk say one of the prophets for olden days don come back to life.”
20 Then e ask them say: “What of una, who una de talk say I be?” Peter come answer-am say: “Na you be the Christ, wey God send.”
21 Then e give them serious warning say make them no tell anybody this one.
22 But e talk say: “The Son of man must suffer well-well and the elders, chief priests and the scribes* go reject-am and kill-am, and for the third day, God go bring-am back to life.”
23 Then e tell all the people say: “If anybody want follow me, make e deny imself, and carry im torture pole* everyday and continue to follow me.
24 Because anybody wey de try to save im life* go lose-am, but anybody wey lose im life* because of me go get-am back.*
25 True-true, wetin person go gain if e get all the things wey dey the world but e come lose im life or cause problem for imself?
26 Because anybody wey de shame because of me and because of the things wey I talk, the Son of man go still shame because of-am when e come with im glory, the glory of im Papa and the glory of the holy angels.
27 But I de tell una the truth say, some people wey stand here no go die at all until them first see the Kingdom of God.”
28 The truth be say, about eight days after e talk this things, e carry Peter, John, and James follow body and them climb one mountain go pray.
29 As e de pray, im face come change, im cloth come de white, de shine,
30 and see! two men de follow-am talk; them be Moses and E·li′jah.
31 The two men appear and de shine no be small, them come de talk about how Jesus go take comot from the world, and this one go soon happen for Jerusalem.
32 That time, sleep de really catch Peter and the people wey dey with-am, but when sleep don clear from their eye finish, them see the glory of Jesus and the two men wey stand with-am.
33 And as the two men de leave Jesus comot, Peter come tell-am say: “Teacher, e good say we dey here. So make we build three tent, one for you, one for Moses and one for E·li′jah.” But e no know wetin e de talk.
34 But as e de talk this things, cloud come gather and start to cover them. As e de cover them, them come de fear.
35 Then one voice talk from inside the cloud say: “This na my Son, the one wey I don choose. Make una listen to-am.”
36 As the voice de talk, them come see say na only Jesus dey there, but them no talk anything and them no tell anybody for that time the things wey them see.
37 The next day, when them come down from the mountain, plenty-plenty people come meet-am.
38 And see! one man wey dey among the plenty people talk with loud voice say: “Teacher, abeg, help* my son, because na only am I get.
39 See! one spirit de enter im body, and at once e go start to shout and e de make-am shake well-well* and foam go de come out from im mouth. E de hard before the spirit go leave-am even though say e don wound-am.
40 I beg your disciples make them pursue-am comot, but them no fit do-am.
41 Jesus come talk say: “This generation wey no get faith and wey don spoil finish, how long I go still stay with una and continue to bear with una? Bring your son come here.”
42 But even as the pikin de come meet Jesus, the demon nack-am for ground and make-am shake well-well no be small, but Jesus command the wicked spirit* and heal the boy, then e give-am back to im papa.
43 All of them surprise because of the strong power wey God get.
As all of them de really surprise because of all the things wey e de do, e come tell im disciples say:
44 “Make una listen well-well and remember this words, because them go sell the Son of man give people.”
45 But them no understand wetin e de talk. The truth be say, them hide-am from them so that them no go understand-am, and fear no let them ask-am question about wetin e talk.
46 Then them come de argue about who big pass among them.
47 As Jesus know wetin them de think for their heart, e come call one small pikin and tell-am to stand for im side,
48 e come tell them say: “Anybody wey welcome this small pikin because of my name don welcome me too, and anybody wey welcome me don still welcome the Person wey send me. Because anybody wey bring imself down as person wey small pass among all of una, na im be the person wey big.”
49 John come talk say: “Teacher, we see person wey de use your name pursue demons comot, and we try to stop-am because e no de follow us.”
50 But Jesus tell-am say: “Make una no try to stop-am, because anybody wey no dey against una, dey with una.”
51 As the time don de near* for-am to go heaven, e make up im mind say e de go Jerusalem.
52 So e come send some of im disciples make them first-am go, them come go and enter one Sa·mar′i·a people village so that them go prepare things for-am.
53 But them no welcome-am because e don really decide say e de go Jerusalem.
54 When im disciples James and John see this one, them come talk say: “You want make we talk say make fire come from heaven come destroy them?”
55 But Jesus turn face them and give them strong correction.
56 So them comot go another village.
57 That time, as them de waka for the road, somebody come tell-am say: “I go follow you go anywhere wey you go.”
58 But Jesus tell-am say: “Fox* them get hole wey them de stay and birds wey de fly for up get house wey them de stay, but the Son of man no get place wey e de put im head.”
59 Then e tell another person say: “Come de follow me.” The man come talk say: “Lord, allow me make I first go bury my papa.”
60 But e tell-am say: “Make people wey don die bury their people wey don die, but make you go tell people everywhere about the Kingdom of God.”
61 Another one still talk say: “Lord, I go follow you, but first allow me make I go tell people for my house bye-bye.”
62 Jesus tell-am say: “Nobody wey de use plow* work and de look the things wey dey im back, reach to enter the Kingdom of God.”
