  • Wetin de come from person heart na im de spoil-am (14-23)

  • The faith of one woman wey come from Phoe·ni′cia wey dey Syria (24-30)

  • E heal one deaf man (31-37)

7  Now, the Pharisee people and some of the scribes* wey come from Jerusalem gather round Jesus.  And them see some of im disciples as them de chop their food with hand wey no clean,* that one na, hand wey them no wash.  (Because the Pharisee people and all the Jew people no de chop unless them wash their hand reach elbow. Them no want gree leave their papa-papa them tradition.  And when them come from market, them no de chop unless them use water clean theirself. Them still get plenty other tradition them wey them don teach them and wey them no want gree leave, like to de baptize cups, jugs, and copper containers.)  So this Pharisee people and scribes ask-am say: “Why your disciples no de follow our papa-papa them tradition, but them de chop their food with hand wey no clean?”  E tell them say: “Una wey de pretend, the thing wey Isaiah talk about una na really true when e write say, ‘This people de talk say them de honor me, but their heart no dey with me at all.  The worship wey them de worship me dey useless, because the things wey them de teach na commands from men.’  Una de leave wetin God don command una, but una no want gree leave the tradition of people.”  E still tell them say: “Una de use sense comot eye from wetin God don command una, so that una go fit continue to follow una tradition. 10  For example, Moses talk say, ‘Honor your papa and your mama,’ and, ‘Make them kill anybody wey curse* im papa or mama.’ 11  But una talk say, ‘If person tell im papa or mama say: “The things wey I get wey I for use help you na corban (this one na, gift wey person don give God,)”’ 12  una no de allow-am do any single thing for im papa or im mama again. 13  So una don make the word of God dey useless because of una tradition wey una don teach people. And una de do plenty things like this.” 14  So e call the plenty people again say make them come meet-am, and e tell them say: “Make all of una listen to me, and understand wetin I de talk. 15  E no get anything wey go enter inside person wey go make-am no clean, but na the things wey de come out from inside person de make the person no clean.” 16  *—— 17  After e don enter one house for where the plenty people no dey, im disciples start to ask-am question about the example. 18  So e tell them say: “Una no understand like them too? Una no know say e no get anything wey go enter inside person wey go make-am no clean, 19  because no be inside im heart e de enter, but na inside im belle, and from there, e go come out and enter inside soakaway?” Na like this e take make-am clear say every food dey clean. 20  E come talk say: “Na wetin de come out from inside person de make the person no clean. 21  Because na from inside, from the heart of people, na im wicked thinking de come from, wey de make people de put hand for sex wey no clean,* de thief, de kill other people, 22  de sleep with who them no marry, de get long throat, de do wicked-wicked things, de deceive other people, de open eye do bad thing without shame,* de get bad belle,* de talk bad things against God, de think say them better pass other people, and them no de use sense think. 23  Na from inside person all this wicked things de come out and them de make person no clean.” 24  E stand up comot from there and go the area of Tyre and Si′don. E enter one house for there and e no want make anybody know, but people still know. 25  Quick-quick, one woman wey wicked spirit* dey e small daughter body hear about-am and e come kneel down for im front. 26  The woman na Greek woman, e come from* Phoe·ni′cia wey dey Syria and e continue to beg say make e pursue the demon comot from im daughter body. 27  But e tell-am say: “Make the children chop belleful first, because e no good to carry the children bread and throw-am give small-small dogs.” 28  But the woman answer-am say: “Yes, sir, but even the small-small dogs wey dey under the table de chop from the pieces wey de fall from the small-small children hand.” 29  As e talk this one, Jesus come tell-am say: “Because of this thing wey you talk, go, the demon don comot from your daughter body.” 30  So e comot go im house, and e see the small pikin as e lie down for bed, and the demon don comot. 31  When Jesus de come back from Tyre area, e pass Si′don and the area of De·cap′o·lis* and e come reach the Sea of Gal′i·lee. 32  For here, them bring one deaf man wey no fit talk well come meet-am, and them beg-am say make e put im hand ontop the man. 33  E come take only the man go one side, for where the plenty people no dey, then e put im fingers inside the man ears, and after e don spit, e touch the man tongue. 34  And e look heaven, breathe deep, and tell the man say: “Eph′pha·tha,” this one mean, “Open.” 35  As e talk this one, the man ear open and the problem wey e get with im tongue comot, and e start to talk well. 36  So e warn them say make them no tell anybody, but the more e de warn them, the more them de tell people. 37  The truth be say, them really surprise no be small, and them talk say: “E don do everything well. E de even make deaf people hear and people wey no fit talk, e de make them talk.”
