5 When Jesus see the plenty people, e come climb go up small for the mountain. And after e don sitdown, im disciples come meet-am.
2 Then e open im mouth and start to teach them say:
3 “People wey know say them need God for their life* go happy, because the Kingdom wey dey heaven na for them.
4 “People wey no de happy at all, go happy, because them go make their mind come down.
5 “People wey dey gentle for heart* go happy, because them go inherit the earth.
6 “People wey wetin correct for God eye de really hungry,* go happy, because them go get wetin them want.*
7 “People wey de pity for other people go happy, because them go pity for them too.
8 “People wey their heart pure go happy, because them go see God.
9 “People wey de do wetin go make peace dey go happy, because them go call them children of God.*
10 “People wey other people don suffer because them de do wetin correct for God eye, go happy, because the Kingdom wey dey heaven na for them.
11 “Una go happy when people insult una and suffer una and talk all kind of wicked lie for una head because of me.
12 Make e sweet una and make una really happy, since una go get big blessing for heaven, because na so them still suffer the prophets wey dey before una.
13 “Una be the salt of the earth. But if the taste of the salt comot, how them fit make-am get taste again? Them no go fit use-am do anything again, except say them go troway-am outside and people go de match-am.

19 So anybody wey no follow one of this commandments wey people think say no dey important, and e de teach other people to do like that, them go see-am as who no reach* to enter the Kingdom wey dey heaven. But anybody wey de follow the commandments and de teach other people about them, them go see-am as who reach* to enter the Kingdom wey dey heaven.
20 Because I de tell una say, if the things wey correct for God eye wey una de do no pass the scribes* and the Pharisee people own, una no go ever enter the Kingdom wey dey heaven.
21 “Una hear say them tell people for olden days say: ‘No kill* person, but anybody wey kill person, e go answer for court.’
22 But I de tell una say, anybody wey continue to vex for im brother, go answer for court. And anybody wey de use harsh word insult im brother, go answer for the Court Wey High Pass. But anybody wey tell another person say, ‘You be useless fool!’ go go Ge·hen′na,* the place wey fire dey.
23 “So if you de bring your gift come altar, you come remember for there say your brother de vex for you,
24 leave your gift for the front of the altar, and first go make peace with your brother. Then when you come back, give your gift.
25 “Make you settle matter quick-quick with person wey get case with you as una dey road de go court. If not, the person go carry you give judge, the judge go carry you give prison officer, and them go put you for prison.
26 True-true, I de tell you say you no go ever come out from there until you don pay the last small coin* wey you get.
27 “Una hear say them talk say: ‘Make you no sleep with person wey no be your husband or wife.’

30 And if your right hand de make you fall, cut-am troway. Because e better make you lose one part of your body than make them throw your whole body inside Ge·hen′na.*
31 “Them still talk-am say: ‘Anybody wey divorce im wife, make e give-am certificate wey show say e don divorce-am.’
32 But I de tell una say, anybody wey divorce im wife, except say the wife put hand for sex wey no clean,* don put-am for condition wey fit make-am sleep with another person. And anybody wey marry woman wey them divorce like this, don sleep with person wey no be im wife.
33 “Una don still hear say them tell people for olden days say: ‘No fail to do wetin you swear say you go do. Instead, you must do wetin you promise Jehovah.’
34 But I de tell una say: Make una no swear at all, whether to use heaven, because na the throne of God,
35 or to use earth, because na the stool wey e de put im leg ontop, or to use Jerusalem, because na the city of the great King.
36 Make una no use una head swear, since una no fit make one hair white or black.
37 Just let your ‘Yes’ be yes, and your ‘No,’ no, because anything wey pass this one na from the wicked person.
38 “Una hear say them talk say: ‘Na eye for eye and teeth for teeth.’
39 But I de tell una say: Make una no fight with wicked person, but if anybody slap una for the right side of una face, turn the other side give-am too.
40 And if person want take you go court so that e go collect the cloth wey you wear inside, make you still give-am the one wey you wear ontop,
41 and if person wey get high position force you to carry load waka for one mile, make you waka with-am for two mile.
42 If person beg you to give-am something, give-am, and no drive person wey want borrow money* from you.
43 “Una hear say them talk say: ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
44 But I de tell una say: Make una continue to love una enemies and de pray for people wey de suffer una,
45 so that una go fit show say una be children of una Papa wey dey heaven. Because e de make im sun shine for wicked people and good people, and e de make rain fall for righteous people and people wey no dey righteous.*
46 But if na people wey love una, una love too, wetin una gain? No be the same thing people wey de collect tax de do?
47 And if na only una brothers una de greet, which special thing una de do? No be the same thing people wey come from other nations de do?
48 So una must dey perfect* as una Papa for heaven dey perfect.
