  • The gifts to talk message from God and to speak different-different language (1-25)

  • Things de arrange well for Christian meetings (26-40)

    • How women suppose behave for congregation (34, 35)

14  Make una de do everything wey una fit do to show love, but make una de try una best to get the gifts of the spirit, especially the gift to de talk message from God.  The person wey de speak different-different language de talk to God, no be people, because nobody de understand* even though say na the spirit de help the person de talk holy secret.  But the person wey de talk message from God de make people strong, de encourage them, and de comfort them with wetin e de talk.  The person wey de speak different-different language de make imself strong, but the person wey de talk message from God de make congregation strong.  Now I go like-am make all of una de speak different-different language, but for me e go better say una de talk message from God. True-true, to talk message from God better pass to de speak different-different language, unless the person wey de speak-am de explain-am* so that the congregation fit dey strong.  But now my brothers, if I come meet una and de speak different-different language wey una no know, which good I do una, unless I tell una the things wey God show me or the things wey people no know, or message from God, or I teach una something?  Na so e still be with things wey no get life but wey de bring out sound, whether na flute or na harp. If them no de bring out different-different sound, how person go fit know the sound wey the flute de play and the sound wey the harp de play?  If trumpet make sound wey no really clear well, who go ready for war?  For the same way, unless una use language wey dey easy to understand, how person go fit know wetin una de talk? The truth be say, una go just de talk for air. 10  E fit be say na plenty different kind of language dey for the world, but no one wey no get meaning. 11  If I no understand the meaning of wetin person de talk, I go be stranger to the person wey de talk, and the person wey de talk go be stranger to me. 12  Na so e still be with una, since una really want the gifts of the spirit, make una de try to get plenty of the gifts wey go make congregation dey strong. 13  So, make the person wey de speak different-different language pray so that e go fit explain-am.* 14  If I de pray with different language, na my gift of the spirit de pray, but my mind no understand wetin I de talk. 15  So wetin I go do? I go pray with the gift of the spirit, but I go still pray with my mind. I go sing praise with the gift of the spirit, but I go still sing praise with my mind. 16  If no be so, if you de praise God with the gift of the spirit, how the ordinary person wey dey among una go fit say “Amen” to the prayer wey you use thank God, since e no know wetin you de talk? 17  Na true say you de thank God for the prayer for fine way, but the other person no de gain. 18  I thank God say I get the gift to speak different-different language pass all of una. 19  But for congregation, I go like to speak five words with my mind* so that I go fit teach people,* instead of me to speak ten thousand words for language wey people no understand. 20  My brothers, make una no be like small children for the way una de understand things. But make una be like small children for matter wey concern bad things, and make una mature for the way una de understand things. 21  Them write-am for the Law say: “‘I go use different-different language wey people from another place de speak and the words of strangers to talk to this people, and even with that one, them no go gree listen to me,’ this na wetin Jehovah talk.” 22  So, the gift to speak different-different language no be sign for people wey believe the good news, but na for people wey no believe the good news. And the gift to talk message from God no be for people wey no believe the good news, but na for people wey believe the good news. 23  So if the whole congregation come together for one place and all of them de speak different-different language, but ordinary people or people wey no believe the good news come inside too, them no go talk say una head no correct? 24  But if all of una de talk message from God, and person wey no believe the good news or ordinary person come inside, wetin e hear go correct-am and this one go make-am check imself well. 25  And then the secret for im heart go show clear, so that e go bow down and worship God and talk say: “God really dey among una.” 26  So wetin una go do my brothers? When una gather together, one person get psalm to sing, another person get something to teach, another person get wetin God don show-am, another person de speak different language, and another person de explain.* Make una de do everything to make each other strong. 27  And if person de speak different language, make e no pass two or three, and make them de do-am turn by turn, and person must explain.* 28  But if person no dey to explain,* e must dey quiet for the congregation and talk to imself and to God. 29  Make two or three prophets talk, and make the other people try to know wetin e mean. 30  But if God show another person something as e sitdown for there, make the first person wey de talk dey quiet. 31  All of una fit talk message from God one by one, so that everybody fit learn and dey strong. 32  And make the prophets de control their gifts of the spirit. 33  Because God no be God wey want make things scatter, but na God of peace. As e be for all the congregations of the holy ones, 34  make the women dey quiet for congregation because them no get permission to talk. Instead, make them dey under the men as the Law still talk. 35  If them want learn something, make them ask their husbands for house, because na shame for woman to talk for congregation. 36  Na una the word of God come from? Or na only una receive-am? 37  If anybody think say e be prophet or e get the gift of the spirit, e must accept say the things wey I de write to una na the commandment of the Lord. 38  But if anybody reject this thing, them go reject the person too.* 39  So my brothers, make una de try una best to talk message from God, and even with that one, make una no stop to speak different-different language. 40  But make una de do everything for fine way and make e arrange well.
