  • Plenty things to do for the work of the Lord (58)

15  Now my brothers, I want remind una about the good news wey I preach to una, wey una still accept and wey una don stand strong for.  God still de save una because of the good news, if una hold tight the good news wey I preach to una. If no be so, una don believe the message for nothing.  Among the first things wey I give una, na wetin I still receive, and na say Christ die for our sins as the Word of God talk;  and say them bury-am, and say God bring-am back to life for the third day as the Word of God talk;  and say e appear to Ce′phas,* and after e appear to the Twelve.*  After that one, e appear to more than 500 brothers for the same time, plenty of them still dey with us, but some of them don die.*  After that one, e appear to James, and then to all the apostles.  But na me e appear to last, as if e appear to pikin wey them born before time reach.  Na me no reach anything among the apostles, and I no reach make them call me apostle, because I suffer the congregation of God. 10  But na the special favor of God make me be wetin I be. And im special favor for me no be for nothing, because I work hard pass all of them; but no be with my power, instead, na the special favor of God wey dey with me. 11  So, whether na me or na them teach una, na this way we de preach, and na this way una don believe. 12  Now if we de preach say Christ don come back to life, how e be say some of una de talk say people wey don die no go come back to life? 13  If true-true, people wey don die no go come back to life, then Christ no come back to life. 14  But if Christ no come back to life, true-true, our preaching na for nothing, and una faith na still for nothing. 15  Apart from that one, we go be lie-lie people wey de talk about God, because we don lie about God as we talk say e bring Christ back to life, wey e no bring-am back to life if people wey don die no go come back to life true-true. 16  If God no go bring people wey don die back to life, that one mean say e never bring Christ back to life. 17  Another thing na say if Christ never come back to life, una faith dey useless and una still dey inside una sins. 18  And then, people wey don die wey be one with Christ don die forever. 19  If na only for this life we get hope for Christ, them suppose pity us pass any other person. 20  But now God don bring Christ back to life, the first person* wey come back to life among the people wey don die. 21  Since death na because of one man, na still because of one man people wey don die go come back to life. 22  Just as everybody de die because of Adam, na so everybody go still receive life because of Christ. 23  But na turn by turn e go be: the first one* na Christ, then after, people wey be Christ own when e dey around. 24  Then the end go come when e go give the Kingdom to im God and Papa, when e don end all government and all authority and power. 25  E must rule as king until God don put all enemies under im control.* 26  And e go destroy the last enemy wey be death. 27  God “put everything under im control.”* But when e* talk say ‘everything don dey under im control,’ e clear say God wey put everything under im control no dey among. 28  But when God don put everything under-am, then the Son too go put imself under God wey put everything under-am, so that God fit be everything to everybody. 29  If no be so, wetin people wey de get baptism wey de lead to death go do? If people wey don die no go come back to life at all, why them still de get baptism wey de lead to death? 30  Why we still de face danger every hour?* 31  I de face death everyday. My brothers, this one dey sure like the joy wey I get for una as people wey de follow Christ Jesus our Lord. 32  If like other people,* I don fight with wicked animals for Eph′e·sus, which gain I get from that one? If people wey don die no go come back to life, “make we chop and drink because tomorrow we go die.” 33  No allow anybody deceive una. Bad friends de spoil better character.* 34  Make una sense come back so that una go de do the correct thing for God eye, and make una no continue to sin, because some people no really know God. I de talk this one to make una shame. 35  But person fit talk say: “How people wey don die go come back to life? Na which kind body them go come back with?” 36  You wey no de think well! The thing wey you plant no de get life unless e first die. 37  And as for wetin you plant, you no de plant body wey don already grow, but na ordinary seed, whether na seed of wheat or any other kind of seed. 38  But God de give-am body just as e like, and de give each of the seeds im own body. 39  No be all body be the same, but body of human dey, body of cow dey, body of birds dey, and body of fish dey. 40  And the things wey dey for heaven get their body, and the things wey dey for earth get their body; but the body for heaven fine for their own way, and the body for earth fine for their own different way. 41  The sun fine for im own way, and the moon fine for another way, and the stars fine for another way. The truth be say the way one star fine dey different from the way another star fine. 42  Na so e still be with people wey don die wey go come back to life. The body wey de die* de rotten, but the body wey de come back to life no de rotten. 43  The body de die* with shame, but e de come back with honor. The body wey de die* dey weak, but e de come back with power. 44  E de die* as human body, e de come back as spirit body. If human body dey, then spirit body still dey. 45  So them don write-am say: “The first man Adam become person* wey get life.” The last Adam become spirit wey de give life. 46  But, the one wey be spirit no be first. Na the one wey be human be first, and after, the one wey be spirit. 47  The first man na from the earth and them make-am with dust;* the second man na from heaven. 48  The people wey God make from dust be like the man wey God make from dust, and the ones for heaven be like the one wey come from heaven. 49  And just as we be like the one wey God make from dust, na so we go still be like the one wey come from heaven. 50  But my brothers, I de tell una this one say, flesh and blood no go fit enter* the Kingdom of God, and something wey de rotten no go fit get something wey no de rotten. 51  See! I de tell una this holy secret say: No be all of us go sleep for death, but all of us go change, 52  e go happen quick-quick, before person blink eye, when the last trumpet de blow. The trumpet go sound and people wey don die go come back with body wey no de rotten and we go change. 53  This body wey fit rotten must change to the one wey no fit rotten, and this body wey fit die must change to the one wey no fit ever die. 54  But when this one wey fit rotten don change to the one wey no fit rotten and the one wey fit die don change to the one wey no fit ever die, then this thing wey them don write go happen: “Them don swallow death forever.” 55  “Death, where your power wey you de use win? Death, where your power wey you de use cause pain?” 56  The pain wey de bring death na sin and the power wey sin get na the Law.* 57  But we thank God because e de use our Lord Jesus Christ de help us win! 58  So my dear brothers, make una stand strong, no shake, de always get plenty things to do for the work of the Lord, as una know say una hard work for the Lord no be for nothing.
