First John 5:1-21
5 Everybody wey believe say na Jesus be the Christ, na God pikin, and everybody wey love the Papa, still love im children.
2 When we love God, and de follow the things wey e command us, this one go make us know say we love the children of God.
3 To show say we love God, we go de do the things wey e command us, and the things wey e command us no too hard,*
4 because anybody* wey be God pikin, de win the world. And na our faith be the thing wey don make us win the world.
5 Na who fit win the world? No be person wey believe say Jesus na the Son of God?
6 Na this Jesus Christ be the person wey come through water and blood, no be only water, but water and blood. And the spirit de prove-am say this one na true, because the spirit na the truth.
7 Na three things de show who Jesus be:
8 the spirit and the water and the blood; and the three de agree with each other.
9 If we accept wetin people talk, we go still accept wetin God talk, wey dey important pass. Because the thing wey God de talk na wetin e don talk about im Son.
10 Person wey get faith for the Son of God, de show say wetin God talk dey for im heart. Person wey no get faith for God, de make-am look like lie-lie person, because e no believe wetin God talk about im Son.
11 And na wetin God talk be this, God de give us life wey no go end, and na im Son e de use give us this life.
12 The person wey dey as one with the Son go get this life, but person wey no dey as one with the Son of God, no go get this life.
13 I de write this things to una, so that una go know say, una get life wey no de end, una wey get faith for the name of the Son of God.
14 And na wetin we dey sure about-am be this, say anything wey we beg-am for, wey agree with wetin e want, e de hear us.
15 And if we know say e go hear us when we beg-am for anything, we know say we go get the things wey we de beg-am for, since na from-am we beg this things.
16 If anybody see im brother wey de commit sin wey no de cause death, e go pray for-am and God go give-am life, this one na for people wey no de commit sin wey de cause death. But sin dey wey de cause death. No be that kind sin I talk say make e pray about.
17 All bad things na sin, but sin dey wey no de cause death.
18 We know say everybody wey be God pikin no de continue to sin, but the person wey be God pikin* de watch-am and the wicked person no fit touch-am.*
19 We know say we come from God, but na the wicked person de control the whole world.
20 But we know say the Son of God don come, and e don give us deep sense* so that we fit really know the true person. And because of im Son Jesus Christ, we don dey as one with the true person. This one na the true God and life wey no go end.
21 My small children, make una no put hand for idol worship.
