Second Corinthians 1:1-24

  • Greeting (1, 2)

  • Comfort from God for all the suffer wey we de face (3-11)

  • The plans wey Paul get to travel change (12-24)

1  Me, Paul, wey be apostle of Christ Jesus because na wetin God want, Timothy our brother dey with me. I de write to the congregation of God wey dey Corinth, and all the holy ones wey dey everywhere for A·cha′ia:  Make the special favor and peace from God our Papa and the Lord Jesus Christ dey with una.  Make the God and Papa of our Lord Jesus Christ get praise, the Papa wey de really show pity* and the God wey de give all kind of comfort.  E de comfort* us for all our problems* so that we go fit comfort other people for any kind of problem* with the comfort wey we get from God.  Just as we de suffer plenty things as people wey de follow Christ, na so we still de get plenty comfort because of Christ.  Now if we de face problems,* na to give una comfort and to save una; and if we de get comfort, na for una to get comfort and this one go help una endure the same things wey we de suffer too.  And the hope wey we get for una no de shake, because we know say as una de suffer just like us, na so una go still get comfort like us.  My brothers, we want make una know about the suffer wey we face for Asia. We face hard situation wey pass our own power, and we no even dey sure about our life at all.  The truth be say we be think say we go die. This one happen so that we no go trust ourself, but we go trust the God wey de bring back people wey don die. 10  For that kind big danger wey fit kill person, e save us and e go save us, and we get hope say e go still continue to save us. 11  Una fit still help us to really beg God for us, so that many people fit help us thank God for the help wey we receive as God answer the prayers of many people.* 12  The thing wey we de boast about na say, for the world and especially for una, our conscience de show say we don behave for way wey show say we dey holy and we get good mind from God. But we no behave for way wey show say we de use our own sense, instead na the special favor of God. 13  We no de really write to una about anything except the thing wey una fit read* and understand. And I hope say una go continue to understand this things well,* 14  just as una don still understand for some way say we be reason for una to boast, just as una go still be for us for the day of our Lord Jesus. 15  Because I dey sure of this one, I be de plan to first come meet una, so that una go fit happy the second time;* 16  because I plan to visit una when I de go Mac·e·do′ni·a, and I go visit una when I de come back from Mac·e·do′ni·a, and then una go escort me small when I de go Ju·de′a. 17  Well, when I make that plan, I no take-am as small thing, na so I do? Or I de make plan the way my body push me, so that I go de talk “Yes, yes” and after “No, no”? 18  But we fit trust God say wetin we tell una no be “yes” and then after “no.” 19  And Jesus Christ the Son of God wey me, Silvanus, and Timothy preach to una about, no become “yes” and then after “no.” But “yes” don become “yes” for im situation. 20  No matter how the promise wey God make plenty reach, all of them don be “yes” because of Jesus. So, na still through Jesus be the “Amen” wey we de tell God, so that we fit give God honor. 21  But na God de make-am dey sure say na Christ get us and una, and na God choose us too. 22  E don still put im stamp ontop us, e don put the spirit inside our heart as proof of wetin de come.* 23  Now make God judge me* if no be true I de talk, say I never want come meet una for Corinth because I no want make una feel sad more-more. 24  No be say we de control una faith, but we de work with una to give una joy, because na una faith de make una stand.
