Second Corinthians 10:1-18

  • Paul defend im work (1-18)

    • The things wey we de use fight no be from humans (4, 5)

10  Now me Paul, I de use the gentle heart and kind heart wey Christ get to beg una, even though say I be like common person when I dey with una face-to-face, but de show una the kind strong heart wey I get when I no dey with una.  I de beg say when I dey with una, I fit no show una the kind strong heart wey I get and use the strong hand wey I suppose use for some people wey de see us like say na our body de push us to do things.  Even though say we de live as humans,* we no de fight our war like humans.*  The things wey we de use fight our war no be from humans, but God de make them powerful to destroy things wey stand strong like wall.  We de destroy ideas and everything wey them raise high to block people make them no know about God, and we de catch every thinking like prisoner to make-am obey the Christ;  and we don prepare to punish anybody wey no obey for any way, after una don obey finish.  Una de look things as them be for outside. If anybody really trust imself say e dey with Christ, make e think again about this thing say: Just as e dey with Christ, na so we dey too.  Even if I choose to boast too much about the authority wey the Lord don give us to make una dey strong, and no be to scatter una finish, this one no go make me shame.  I no want make e be like say I de try to make una fear with my letters. 10  Them de talk say: “E letters dey strong and them get power. But when e dey around, e dey weak and wetin e de talk no make sense.” 11  Make that kind person get-am for mind say the things wey we talk for letters when we no dey around, na this things we go still do when we dey around. 12  We no fit try-am to put ourself for their level or compare ourself with some of them wey de praise theirself, but when them measure theirself by theirself and compare theirself with theirself, e go show say them no de understand anything. 13  But we no go boast pass the boundary wey God don give us, but na inside the boundary of the area* wey God don give us,* and una even dey part of that area. 14  The truth na say, we no overstretch ourself to reach una, because na we first reach una with the good news about Christ. 15  No, we no de boast pass the boundary wey God don give us about the work wey another person don do. But we de hope say as una faith de continue to grow, wetin we don do for inside our area go fit de grow. Then, we go still de do more 16  so that we fit preach the good news for countries wey no dey una area, so that we no go boast for wetin them don already do for another person area. 17  “But make the person wey de boast, boast about Jehovah.” 18  No be the person wey de praise imself them de accept, but na the person wey Jehovah de praise.
