Second Timothy 1:1-18
1 Me, Paul, wey be apostle of Christ Jesus because na wetin God want and because of the life wey e don promise us as people wey de follow Christ Jesus,
2 de write to Timothy my pikin wey I really love:
Make the special favor, mercy, and peace from God our Papa and Christ Jesus our Lord dey with you.
3 I de thank God wey I de do holy work for, just as my papa-papa them do. I de do this one with clean conscience and I never stop to remember you when I de really beg God for prayer, day and night.
4 When I remember the cry wey you cry, e de hungry me to see you so that I go really happy.
5 I remember say the kind faith wey you get no be the one wey de pretend. I first see this faith for your grandmama Loʹis and your mama Euʹnice, but I dey sure say you still get this faith.
6 Because of this one I want make you remember say, just like person de blow fire, make you continue to use the gift wey God don give you when I put my hand ontop you.
7 God no give us spirit of fear-fear, but na spirit wey de make us get power, wey de make us show love, and de reason well.
8 So make you no shame to talk about our Lord or about me wey dey prison because of the Lord. But make you accept to suffer because of the good news and trust the power wey God de give.
9 E save us and e call us to be holy people, no be because of things wey we don do, but na because of wetin e get for mind and im special favor. E use Christ Jesus give us this special favor long-long time ago,
10 but now this favor show clear when Christ Jesus wey be our Savior come. E don destroy the power wey death get and e use the good news show us how to get life and body wey no fit rotten.
11 Na because of this one e choose me to preach, and to be apostle and teacher.
12 Na this one still make me de suffer this things, but I no de shame. I know the Person wey I don believe, and I really dey sure say e go fit protect wetin I don put for im hand until that day.
13 Continue to follow the same example* of correct words* wey you hear from me, and make you do this one with faith and love wey you get because you dey as one with Christ Jesus.
14 Make the holy spirit wey dey inside us, help you protect this fine thing wey them don put for your hand.
15 You know say everybody for Asia don leave me, Phy·gelʹus and Her·mogʹe·nes dey among them.
16 Make the Lord show mercy to people wey dey the house of On·e·siphʹo·rus, because e de always encourage me, and e no shame for me even as them chain me for prison.
17 But when e dey Rome e take im time find me until e see me.
18 Make the Lord help-am so that e go fit get mercy from Jehovah when that day reach. And you really know about all the work wey e do for Ephʹe·sus.
