Third John 1:1-14
Me, the old man,* de write to you my dear friend Ga′ius, wey I love with all my heart.
My dear friend, I de pray say make you continue to get strong body and make everything continue to go well for you just as e de go well for you* now.
Because I happy no be small when brothers come and talk about how you hold the truth tight, and you still de follow the truth reach now.*
Nothing de make me happy pass to hear say my children still de follow the truth.*
My dear friend, you de show say you hold God tight as you de do things for the brothers even though say you no know them before.
Them don tell the congregation about the love wey you de show. Abeg when them de go, try make you help them for the kind way wey go make God happy.
Because na the name of God de make them de go different-different place and them no de take anything from the people of the world.
So we suppose welcome and care for this kind people, so that we go fit be people wey de work with them to support the truth.
I write something to all of una for the congregation, but Di·ot′re·phes wey like to be number one for everything for the congregation, no de gree take anything wey come from us with respect.
Na im make if I come, I go talk wetin e don do as e de tell people bad-bad things about us. E no even stop for this one wey e de do, e no de still gree welcome the brothers with respect. And even people wey want welcome them, e de try to stop them and remove them from the congregation.
My dear friend, make you no follow bad example, but follow good example. Person wey de do good na person wey God de control. But person wey de do bad, no know God.
All the brothers de talk better-better things about De·me′tri·us, and e better character still de show say e de follow the truth. We self de talk say na better person e be, and you know say wetin we de talk na true.
I get plenty things wey I for like tell you, but I no want write everything for letter* give you.
But I de expect say, small time, I go see you and we go talk face-to-face.
Make you get peace.
The brothers and sisters for here de greet you. And help me greet the brothers and sisters for there one by one.
