16 So e reach Der′be and Lys′tra too. And one disciple wey im name na Timothy dey there, and na the son of one Jew woman wey don believe the good news, but im papa na Greek person.
2 And the brothers for Lys′tra and I·co′ni·um de talk well about Timothy.
3 Paul show say e want make Timothy de follow-am and e take Timothy and circumcise-am because of the Jew people for those areas, as all of them know say im papa na Greek person.
4 As them de travel from city to city, them go give them the laws wey the apostles and the elders for Jerusalem don decide, so that them go obey-am.
5 So, true-true, the congregations continue to stand strong for the faith and them de plenty more-more everyday.
6 Apart from that one, them travel through Phryg′i·a and the area of Ga·la′ti·a because the holy spirit no allow them preach the word for Asia.
7 Another thing be say, when them come down to Mys′i·a, them try their best to enter Bi·thyn′i·a, but the spirit of Jesus no allow them.
8 So them pass* Mys′i·a and come down to Tro′as.
9 And for night, Paul see one vision. One man from Mac·e·do′ni·a stand for there, de beg-am say: “Come Mac·e·do′ni·a and help us.”
10 As e just see the vision finish, we try to go Mac·e·do′ni·a because we don see-am say na God call us to preach the good news to them.
11 So we enter ship from Tro′as and go straight to Sam′o·thrace. But the next day, we go Ne·ap′o·lis;
12 and from there, we go Phi·lip′pi, one city wey Rome de rule, wey be the number one city for the area of Mac·e·do′ni·a. We stay for this city for some days.
13 For the Sabbath day, we go outside the gate, near one river, where we think say people de gather pray, and we sitdown and start to talk to the women wey gather.
14 And one woman wey im name na Lyd′i·a, from the city of Thy·a·ti′ra wey de sell purple cloth,* and wey de worship God, de listen. And Jehovah open im heart well to accept the things wey Paul de talk.
15 Now when the woman and people for im house baptize, e beg us say: “If una see me as person wey dey faithful to Jehovah, make una come stay for my house.” And the way e beg us just make us go with-am.
16 Now e happen say as we de go the place wey people de gather to pray, one servant girl meet us, and e get one spirit wey be demon wey de make person talk wetin go happen for future. This girl de bring plenty gain for im oga them as e de talk wetin go happen for future.
17 This girl continue to follow us and Paul and de shout say: “This men na slave of the God Wey High Pass, and them de tell una how God go save una.”
18 The girl continue to do like this for many days. Last-last, this one tire Paul. E turn and tell the spirit say: “I command you for the name of Jesus Christ to come out from the girl.” And e come out that same hour.
19 Well, when im oga them see say wetin de bring gain for them no dey again, them hold Paul and Silas and drag them go the market area go meet the people wey de rule.
20 When them take them go meet the rulers for the city, them talk say: “This men de disturb our city too much. Them be Jew people,
21 and them de teach traditions wey law no allow make we follow, as we be Rome people.”
22 And plenty people come together against them; and the rulers for the city give command say make them tear the cloths of Paul and Silas comot and beat them with sticks.
23 After them don give them serious beating, them put them for prison and command the watchman for the prison make e guard them well.
24 Because them give-am that kind command, e put them for the cell wey dey inside-inside the prison and lock their leg between wood.
25 But around midnight, Paul and Silas de pray and de praise God with song and the prisoners de listen to them.
26 At once, ground begin shake open no be small, and this one make the foundation of the prison shake. Another thing be say, all the doors open at once and the chain wey them use tie everybody loose.
27 When the watchman for the prison wake up and see say the doors for the prison don open, e bring out im sword and e want kill imself because e think say the prisoners don escape.
28 But Paul shout with loud voice say: “No kill yourself, because all of us dey here!”
29 So e talk say make them bring light and e rush go inside, and as e de shake with fear, e kneel down for front of Paul and Silas.
30 E bring them come outside and talk say: “My oga them, wetin I go do for God to save me?”
31 Them talk say: “Make you believe the Lord Jesus, and God go save you, you and the people for your house.”
32 Then them preach the word of Jehovah to the man together with all the people for im house.
33 And e take them go that same time for night and wash their wound. Then the man and everybody for im house no waste time to baptize.
34 E bring them come inside the house and arrange food for table for them, and e really happy no be small with everybody for im house, now wey e don believe God.
35 When day break, the rulers for the city send the police them for the court make them talk say: “Make una release those men.”
36 The watchman for the prison tell Paul everything wey them talk say: “The rulers for the city don send men say make them release the two of una. So now, make una come out and go well.”
37 But Paul tell them say: “Them flog us for public when them no even judge us, even though say we be Rome people, and them put us for prison. Now them want bring us come out for secret? No, e no go happen! Make them come by theirself and escort us come out.”
38 The police them for the court tell the rulers for the city this things wey Paul talk, and them really fear when them hear say the men na Rome people.
39 So them come, and beg them, and after them don escort them come out, them tell them make them comot from the city.
40 But them come out from the prison and go the house of Lyd′i·a; and when them see the brothers, them encourage them and comot from there.
