Acts 19:1-41
19 As this things de happen, when A·pol′los dey for Corinth, Paul pass through the areas wey far from sea and come down to Eph′e·sus. For there, e see some disciples
2 and e ask them say: “Una receive holy spirit when una believe the good news?” Them answer-am say: “We never hear about holy spirit before.”
3 So e talk say: “Then which kind baptism them do for una?” Them talk say: “Na the baptism of John.”
4 Paul talk say: “John baptize people as sign to show say them don repent, and e tell the people to believe the person wey de come after-am, wey be Jesus.”
5 As them hear this one, them baptize for the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul put im hand ontop them, them receive holy spirit and them start to speak different-different language and de talk message from God.
7 Na around 12 men all of them be.
8 E enter the synagogue, and for three months, e no fear to talk, e de give talks and de reason with people for way wey go make them believe wetin e de talk about the Kingdom of God.
9 But when some people do strong head and no gree believe* and de talk bad things about The Way for front of the plenty people, Paul comot from where them dey and separate the disciples from them. E de give talks everyday for the big hall wey dey the school of Ty·ran′nus.
10 This one continue for two years, sotey all the people wey de live for Asia hear the word of the Lord, both Jew people and Greek people.
11 And God continue to use Paul do wonderful miracles,
12 sotey them carry even the cloths and the aprons wey don touch im body go meet sick people. And their sickness leave them and the wicked spirits come out.
13 But some of the Jew people wey de go round de drive demons comot from people, still try to use the name of the Lord Jesus for people wey get wicked spirit. Them go talk say: “I command una with the name of Jesus wey Paul de preach about.”
14 Now one Jew chief priest wey im name na Sce′va get seven sons wey de do this kind thing.
15 But the wicked spirit answer them say: “I know Jesus and I know Paul too, but who una be?”
16 With that one, the man wey get the wicked spirit jump ontop them, e fight them one by one and win them, sotey them run naked comot from the house with wound for their body.
17 Everybody hear this thing wey happen, both Jew people and Greek people wey de live for Eph′e·sus. And fear catch all of them and people continue to praise the name of the Lord Jesus.
18 And many of the people wey don believe the good news go come and confess and talk the things wey them don do come out for open.
19 True-true, many of the people wey de do magic bring their books together and burn them finish for front of everybody. And them calculate the price and see say e reach 50,000 pieces of silver.
20 So for powerful way, the word of Jehovah continue to grow and to win.
21 After this things don happen, Paul tell imself say after e pass through Mac·e·do′ni·a and A·cha′ia, e go travel go Jerusalem. E talk say: “After I go there, I must go Rome too.”
22 So e send two of the people wey de help-am to Mac·e·do′ni·a. Them be Timothy and E·ras′tus, but e stay for some time for Asia.
23 That time, big problem start about The Way.
24 One man dey wey im name na De·me′tri·us wey de use silver make things. E use silver make shrines of Ar′te·mis, and this one de bring plenty gain for people wey de do this kind work.
25 E gather them and other people wey de do the same things and talk say: “Men, una really know say na this business de give us plenty money.
26 Now no be only for Eph′e·sus, but for almost everywhere for Asia, una don see and hear how this Paul don move plenty people and turn them to believe another thing and de talk say the gods wey people make with hand no be really gods.
27 Apart from that one, the danger wey dey no be only say people go de talk bad about our business, but people go still de see the temple of the great god Ar′te·mis as nothing. And this god* wey people for the whole Asia and the earth de worship no go get honor again.
28 When the men hear this one, them really vex and start to shout say: “Ar′te·mis of Eph′e·sus people dey great!”
29 So confusion full the whole city and everybody together rush enter the stadium and them drag Ga′ius and Ar·is·tar′chus follow theirself. Them be Mac·e·do′ni·a people wey de travel with Paul.
30 But as for Paul, e ready to go inside go meet the people, but the disciples no allow-am.
31 Even some of the people wey de arrange festivals and games wey like Paul, send message go give-am. Them de beg-am say make e no come inside the stadium so that e no go put im life for danger.
32 Now some of them de shout one thing and other people de shout another thing, because the people wey gather confuse and plenty of them no know the reason why them gather together.
33 So them bring Alexander come out from among the plenty people. The Jew people de push-am go front, and Alexander use im hand do sign and e be want defend imself for front of the people.
34 But when them notice say na Jew person e be, all of them start to shout together for about two hours: “Ar′te·mis of Eph′e·sus people dey great!”
35 Last-last, when the head of the city make the plenty people quiet, e talk say: “Men of Eph′e·sus, anybody dey wey really no know say na the city of Eph′e·sus de care for the temple of the great Ar′te·mis and the image wey fall from heaven?
36 Since nobody fit argue this things, make una calm down and no rush do something.
37 And una don bring this men here wey no de thief from temples or de talk bad about our god.
38 So if De·me′tri·us and the people wey de work with-am get case against person, days wey people de go court dey and governors* dey. Make them come talk the problem wey them get with each other.
39 But if una de find another thing wey pass this one, then we must gather as law talk to decide-am.
40 This thing wey happen today fit really put us for danger, because them fit talk say we de fight government since we no get anything to give as reason wey make this people gather de cause trouble.”
41 And after e talk this one finish, e tell everybody wey gather make them de go.
