Galatians 2:1-21

  • Paul meet the apostles for Jerusalem (1-10)

  • Paul correct Peter (Cephas) (11-14)

  • God de talk say person dey righteous only because of faith (15-21)

2  Then after 14 years, I go Jerusalem again with Bar′na·bas, and Titus still follow me.  I go because of wetin the Lord show me from heaven, and I tell them the good news wey I de preach to people of the nations. But I no do this one for open place, na only for front of the men wey people really respect I do-am, to make sure say I never de run for nothing or say I don run for nothing.  But even Titus wey dey with me, nobody force-am to circumcise, even though say na Greek person e be.  But that matter come out because of the lie-lie brothers wey them sofri bring come inside and wey hide enter to check* the freedom wey we de enjoy as one with Christ Jesus, so that them fit really make us slave.  We no gree and we no listen to them, no, no be even for short time,* so that the truth wey be the good news go fit continue with una.  But as for the people wey be like say them dey important—no matter wetin them be before, e no mean anything to me because God no de look wetin person be for outside—those men wey them de really respect no give me any new thing.  Instead, when them see say God don put the good news for my hand to preach to people wey no circumcise, just like e don do for Peter to preach to people wey don circumcise—  the person wey give Peter power to be apostle for people wey don circumcise still give me power to be apostle for people of the nations—  and when them see say God don give me the special favor, James and Ce′phas* and John, the people wey be like pillars give Bar′na·bas and me the right hand to show say we de work together as partners.* With this one, we fit go meet people of the nations, but them go go meet people wey don circumcise. 10  The only thing wey them tell us na say make we de remember poor people, and I don really try my best to do this one. 11  But when Ce′phas* come Antioch, I tell-am face-to-face say I no like wetin e do, because e dey clear say wetin e do no correct. 12  Before some men from James come, e be de chop with people of the nations. But when them come, e stop to do this one and e separate imself. E de fear the group wey de talk say person must circumcise. 13  The rest of the Jew people still join-am de pretend like that, sotey this one make even Bar′na·bas to join them de pretend. 14  But when I see say them no de follow the truth of the good news, I tell Ce′phas* for front of all of them say: “If you wey be Jew de live the way people of the nations de live and no be as Jew people de live, how you fit make people of the nations to live their life the way Jew people de live?” 15  We wey them born as Jew people and no be sinners from the nations, 16  know say God de talk say person na righteous person, no be because e de obey law, but na only because of the faith wey e get for Jesus Christ. So we don put our faith for Christ Jesus so that God fit talk say we dey righteous because of our faith for Christ, and no be because we de obey law, because God no go talk say anybody* dey righteous because say e de obey law. 17  Now, if them don de see us as sinners too, as we de try make God talk say we dey righteous through Christ, so Christ na servant of sin? E no fit ever happen! 18  If the things wey I be don scatter reach ground I de build-am again, then I de show say I de break law. 19  Because through law, I don die for things about law* so that I fit live for God. 20  Them nail me for the pole together with Christ. I no de live for myself again,* but na Christ wey de live as one with me. True-true, the life wey I de live now for this body* I de live-am according to the faith wey I get for the Son of God, wey love me and give im life for me. 21  I no reject* the special favor of God because if God talk say person dey righteous because e de obey law, that one mean say Christ die for nothing.
