John 12:1-50
12 Six days before the Passover, Jesus reach Bethʹa·ny, the place wey Lazʹa·rus wey e bring back to life dey.
2 So, them arrange evening food for-am there, and Martha de serve them. But Lazʹa·rus dey among the people wey de chop* with-am.
3 Then Mary carry about half liter* of perfume oil, original nard* wey cost well-well, e come pour-am for Jesus leg, and use im hair dry the leg. The scent of the perfume oil come full the whole house.
4 But Judas Is·carʹi·ot, wey be one of im disciples, wey go soon sell-am give im enemies, come talk say:
5 “Why them no sell this perfume oil for 300 de·narʹi·i and carry the money give poor people?”
6 E no talk this one because e really de think about poor people, but na because e be thief. Na im de hold the box wey them de keep money, and e de thief the money wey them put inside.
7 Then Jesus talk say: “Leave-am alone, so that e go do this one now to prepare me for the day of my burial.
8 Because poor people go always dey with una, but I no go always dey with una.”
9 As this one de happen, plenty-plenty Jew people come know say Jesus dey there, so them come, so that them go see Jesus and still see Lazʹa·rus wey Jesus bring back to life.
10 The chief priests come plan say them go kill Lazʹa·rus too,
11 as e be say na because of-am many of the Jew people de go there and de put faith for Jesus.
12 The next day, the plenty-plenty people wey don come the festival come hear say Jesus de come Jerusalem.
13 So them carry palm tree leaf and comot go meet-am, them come start to shout say: “We de pray say make you save-am! The person wey de come with Jehovah name, the King of Israel, na person wey them don bless!”
14 When Jesus see one small donkey, e come sitdown ontop-am, just as them write-am say:
15 “Make you no fear, daughter of Zion. See! Your king de come, and e sitdown ontop small donkey.”*
16 Im disciples no first understand this things, but when Jesus don get im high position, them come remember say them write this things about-am and them do this things to-am.
17 Now, the plenty people wey be dey with-am when e call Lazʹa·rus from the grave* and bring-am back to life, continue to tell people about wetin happen.
18 Na this one still make the plenty people go meet-am because them hear say e do this miracle.
19 So the Pharisee people come de tell theirself say: “Una no see say wetin we de do no de get head? See! The whole world don de follow-am.”
20 That time, some Greek people dey among the people wey come the festival come worship God.
21 Them come meet Philip, wey come from Beth·saʹi·da of Galʹi·lee, and them start to beg-am, de talk say: “Oga, we want see Jesus.”
22 Then Philip come tell Andrew. Andrew and Philip come go tell Jesus.
23 But Jesus answer them say: “The time don reach wey them go honor the Son of man.
24 True-true, I de tell una say, unless say seed of wheat fall for ground and die, na just one seed e go be. But na when e die, e go fit produce plenty fruit.
25 Anybody wey love im life* go destroy-am, but anybody wey hate im life* for this world go save-am so that e go get life wey no go end.
26 If anybody want be my servant, make e follow me, and na where I dey my servant go dey too. If anybody want be my servant, my Papa go honor-am.
27 Now, I de worry, and wetin I go talk? Papa, save me from this time. But na this one be the reason why I* don reach this time.
28 Papa, make you honor your name.” Then one voice talk from heaven say: “I don honor-am and I go honor-am again.”
29 The people wey stand for there hear this one and start to talk say na thunder strike so. Other people come talk say: “Na angel talk to-am.”
30 Jesus come answer them say: “No be because of me this voice talk, but na because of una.
31 Now, God de judge this world, and e go pursue the ruler of this world comot.
32 But as for me, when them don raise me go up from the earth,* I go draw all kind of people come my side.”
33 E really talk this one to show the kind way wey e go die.
34 Then the plenty people answer-am say: “We hear from the Law say the Christ go dey forever. So why you come de talk say them must raise the Son of man go up?* Who be this Son of man?”
35 So Jesus tell them say: “The light go still dey with una small, make una waka now when the light still dey with una, so that darkness no go cover una. Anybody wey de waka for darkness no know where e de go.
36 Now wey the light still dey with una, make una put faith for the light, so that una go fit be children* of light.”
After Jesus talk this things, e comot go hide from them.
37 Even though say e don do many miracles for their front, them no put faith for-am,
38 so that wetin Isaiah the prophet talk go happen, wey talk say: “Jehovah, na who don put faith for the thing wey them hear from us?* And na who Jehovah don show im hand?”
39 Isaiah still talk the reason why them no fit believe, say:
40 “E don blind their eye, and e don make their heart strong, so that them no go use their eye see and use their heart understand and turn back, so that I go heal them.”
41 Isaiah talk this things because e see im glory, and e talk about-am.*
42 Even with this one, many of the people, even many of the rulers put faith for-am, but them no show say them put faith for-am because of Pharisee people, so that them no go pursue them from the synagogue,
43 because them like the praise wey de come from people, even pass the praise wey de come from God.
44 But Jesus come use loud voice talk say: “Anybody wey put faith for me, e no put faith for only me, but e still put faith for the Person wey send me.
45 And anybody wey de see me de see the Person wey send me too.
46 I don come the world as light so that anybody wey put faith for me no go continue to dey for darkness.
47 But if anybody de hear the things wey I de talk and e no do them, I no de judge the person, because I no come judge the world, but na to save the world.
48 Anybody wey reject me and no accept the things wey I talk, e get wetin go judge-am. Na wetin I don talk, na im go judge-am for the last day.
49 Because I never talk anything wey come from my own mind, but na my Papa wey send me give me commandment about wetin to talk and wetin to teach.
50 And I know say im commandment de make person get life wey no go end. So anything wey I talk, I de talk-am just as my Papa tell me.
