John 15:1-27
15 “Na me be the real vine and na my Papa be the Person wey de take care of the vine.*
2 Any branch for inside me wey no de produce fruit, e de comot-am and anyone wey de produce fruit, e de clean-am so that e go fit produce more fruit.
3 Una don already clean because of the word wey I don tell una.
4 Make una continue to dey as one with me and I go continue to dey as one with una. Just as branch no fit produce fruit by imself unless e still dey for the vine, na so una no go fit produce fruit unless una continue to dey as one with me.
5 Na me be the vine, and na una be the branch them. Anybody wey continue to dey as one with me and I dey as one with-am, na this person go produce plenty fruit; because without me, una no fit do anything at all.
6 If anybody no continue to dey as one with me, e go be like branch wey them cut comot wey come dry. And people de gather this kind branch them, throw them inside fire, and them go burn.
7 If una continue to dey as one with me and the things wey I de talk continue to dey for una heart, make una ask anything wey una want and e go happen for una.
8 My Papa de get the praise when una continue to produce plenty fruit and de show say una be my disciples.
9 Just as my Papa love me, na so I love una too. Make una continue to do wetin go make me de love una.
10 If una obey my commandments, I go continue to love una just as I don obey the commandments of my Papa and e continue to love me.
11 “I don tell una this things so that una go happy the way I de happy, and na so-so happy una go de happy.
12 This na the commandment wey I de give una say, make una love each other just as I love una.
13 E no get anybody wey get love wey big pass this one, say make person surrender im life* because of im friends.
14 Una be my friends if una do wetin I de command una.
15 I no de call una slaves again, because slave no de know wetin im oga de do. But I don call una my friends because I don tell una everything wey I hear from my Papa.
16 Una no choose me, but I choose una, and I choose una say make una go and continue to produce fruit and say make una fruit continue to dey, so that no matter wetin una use my name beg my Papa for, e go give-am to una.
17 “Na this things I de command una, say make una love each other.
18 If the world hate una, make una know say the world don first hate me before e hate una.
19 If to say una be part of the world, the world for love una because una for be im own, but now, because una no be part of the world and I don choose una from this world, na im make the world hate una.
20 Make una no forget wetin I don first tell una say slave no de big pass im oga. If them don suffer me, them go suffer una too. If them obey my word, them go obey una own too.
21 But them go do all this things to una because of my name, because them no know the Person wey send me.
22 If to say I no come talk to them, e for no be sin for them, but now, them no get excuse for their sin.
23 Anybody wey hate me, hate my Papa too.
24 If to say I no do the kind things wey no other person do and wey them see, e for no be sin for them, but now, them don see me and them hate me and still hate my Papa.
25 But this one happen so that wetin them write for their Law go happen as them write-am say: ‘Them hate me for no reason.’
26 When the helper wey I go send to una from my Papa come, that one wey be the spirit of truth wey de come from my Papa, e go tell una the truth about me.
27 Then una too go tell people the truth about me because una don dey with me from the beginning.
