John 17:1-26
17 After Jesus talk this things, e come look heaven and talk say: “Papa, the time don come. Honor your son so that your son go honor you,
2 just as you don put everybody under im authority, so that e fit give life wey no go end to all the people wey you don give-am.
3 To get life wey no go end, them need to know you,* the only true God and the person wey you send come wey be Jesus Christ.
4 I don honor you for the earth as I don finish the work wey you give me to do.
5 So now, Papa, do-am make I get the honor wey I first get for your side, the kind honor wey I get when I dey your side, when this world never dey.
6 “I don make the people wey you give me from this world know your name. Them be your own and you give them to me and them don obey your word.
7 Now them don know say everything wey you give me come from you,
8 because I don tell them the things wey you tell me and them don accept them and them don really know say I come as person wey you send and them don believe say you send me come.
9 I de beg you because of them, I no de beg you because of the world, but because of the people wey you don give me, because them be your own,
10 and everything wey I get na your own and your own na my own and them don make me get honor.
11 “I no dey the world again, but them dey the world, and I de come meet you. Papa wey dey holy, abeg, make you protect them because of your own name wey you don give me, so that them go be one* just as we be one.*
12 When I be dey with them, I be de protect them because of your own name wey you don give me, and I don protect them, and no one de miss except the son of destruction, so that wetin dey your word go happen.
13 But now, I de come meet you and I de talk this things for the world so that them go happy well-well as I de happy.
14 I don tell them your word, but the world hate them because them no be part of the world just as I no be part of the world.
15 “I no de beg you say make you carry them comot from the world, but I de beg you say make you protect them because of the wicked person.
16 Them no be part of the world just as I no be part of the world.
17 Use the truth make them holy, because your word na truth.
18 Just as you send me come this world, na so I don still send them go the world.
19 I de continue to keep myself holy for them, so that the truth go fit make them holy too.
20 “I no de beg you because of only this people, but I still de beg you because of the people wey go put faith for me because of wetin this people go tell them,
21 so that all of them go be one, just as you, Papa, dey as one with me, and I dey as one with you, make them still dey as one with us, so that the world go believe say na you send me come.
22 I don give them the honor wey you don give me, so that them go be one just as we be one.
23 I dey as one with them, and you dey as one with me, so that them go really be one* so that the world go know say na you send me come and say you love them just as you love me.
24 Papa, I want make the people wey you don give me dey with me for the place wey I dey, so that them go see the honor wey you don give me because you love me before the world start.
25 My righteous Papa, true-true, the world no know you but I know you and this people don know say na you send me come.
26 I don make them know your name, and I go still make them know-am, so that them go get the kind love wey you get for me and I go dey as one with them.”
