John 20:1-31
20 For the first day of the week, Mary Magʹda·lene come the grave* for early morning when everywhere still dark and e see say them don already comot the stone from the grave.*
2 E come run go meet Simon Peter and the other disciple wey Jesus love well-well and tell them say: “Them don carry the Lord comot from the grave and we no know where them carry-am put.”
3 Then Peter and the other disciple start to go the place wey the grave dey.
4 The two of them start to run together, but the other disciple fast pass Peter, and e first-am reach the place wey the grave dey.
5 When e stretch im neck look inside, e see only the linen cloth for there, but e no enter inside.
6 Then Simon Peter wey de follow-am for back run reach there too, and e enter inside the grave. E come see the linen cloth wey dey there.
7 The cloth wey them use tie im head no dey where the other cloths dey, but them fold-am keep for one place.
8 Then the other disciple wey first reach the grave go inside too. E see-am and believe wetin them don tell them.
9 But them never understand wetin the word of God talk say e must come back to life.
10 So the disciples go back to their house.
11 But Mary still stand for outside near the grave, de cry. As e de cry, e come stretch im neck look inside the grave,
12 and e see two angels wey wear white cloth wey sitdown for where Jesus body be dey. One for im head side and the other one for im leg side.
13 Them come ask-am say: “Woman, why you de cry?” E answer them say: “Them don carry my Lord comot and I no know where them carry-am put.”
14 After e talk this one, e turn and see Jesus wey stand for there, but e no know say na Jesus.
15 Then Jesus ask-am say: “Woman, why you de cry? Who you de find?” E come think say na the person wey de take care of the garden, so e tell-am say: “Oga, if na you carry-am comot, tell me where you carry-am put and I go go carry-am.”
16 Then Jesus call im name: “Mary!” When e turn back, e come tell Jesus for Hebrew language say: “Rab·boʹni!” (wey mean “Teacher!”)
17 Jesus come tell-am say: “No hold me tight, because I never de go up go meet my Papa. But make you go meet my brothers and tell them say, ‘I de go up go meet my Papa and una Papa, and my God and una God.’”
18 Mary Magʹda·lene come meet the disciples and tell them the news say: “I don see the Lord!” And e still tell them wetin Jesus tell-am.
19 For evening time that day, wey be the first day of the week, the disciples gather for inside house and lock door because them de fear Jew people, but Jesus appear and stand for their middle and say: “Make una get peace.”
20 After e talk this one, e show them im hand and im side and the disciples happy no be small as them see the Lord.
21 Jesus come tell them again say: “Make una get peace. Just as my Papa don send me, na so I de send una.”
22 After e talk this thing finish, e blow them breeze and tell them say: “Make una receive holy spirit.”
23 If una forgive anybody im sin, them don forgive-am; if una no forgive anybody im sin, them no go forgive-am too.”
24 But Thomas wey be one of the Twelve, wey them de call the Twin, be no dey with them when Jesus come.
25 So the other disciples come de tell-am say: “We don see the Lord!” But e tell them say: “Unless I see the mark of the nails for im hand and I put my finger for the mark of the nails and put my hand for im side, I no go ever believe.”
26 After eight days, Jesus disciples dey inside house again and Thomas be dey with them. Then Jesus come even though say them lock the door, e stand for their middle and talk say: “Make una get peace.”
27 Then e tell Thomas say: “Put your finger here, see my hand. Take your hand, put-am for my side and make you stop to doubt, but make you believe.”
28 Thomas come answer-am say: “My Lord and my God!”
29 Jesus ask-am say: “Because you don see me, you don believe? People wey no see but them believe, go happy.”
30 The truth be say, Jesus do plenty other miracles for front of im disciples wey them no write for this scroll.
31 But them write this ones down so that una go believe say na Jesus be the Christ, the Son of God, and because say una believe, una go get life because of im name.
