John 3:1-36
3 E get one man wey im name na Nic·o·deʹmus, na Pharisee e be and na one of the leaders of Jew people.
2 This man come meet Jesus for night and tell-am say: “Rabbi, we know say you be teacher wey God don send, because nobody fit do the kind miracles wey you de do, unless God dey with-am.”
3 Jesus come answer-am say: “True-true, I de tell you say, unless them born person again,* e no go fit see the Kingdom of God.”
4 Nic·o·deʹmus ask-am say: “How them fit born person again when e don old? E no go fit enter im mama belle the second time, make them born-am, abi e go fit?”
5 Jesus answer-am say: “True-true, I de tell you say, unless them use water and spirit born person, e no go fit enter the Kingdom of God.
6 Wetin person born na person, and wetin the spirit born na spirit.
7 Make you no surprise because I tell you say: Them must born una again.
8 Breeze de blow go the side wey e want, and you de hear the sound, but you no de know where e come from and where e de go. Na so e still be with everybody wey the spirit born.”
9 Nic·o·deʹmus come ask-am say: “How this things fit take happen self?”
10 Jesus come answer-am say: “So, you be teacher for Israel, and you no know this things?
11 True-true, I de tell you say, na wetin we know we de talk, and na wetin we don see we de tell people about, but una no de believe wetin we de tell una.
12 If I tell una things about this earth, and still, una no de believe, how una go take believe if I tell una things about heaven?
13 Another thing be say, e no get anybody wey don go heaven, but the only person wey don come down from heaven, na the Son of man.
14 And just as Moses raise the snake go up for the wilderness, na so them must raise the Son of man go up too,*
15 so that everybody wey believe-am go fit get life wey no go end.
16 “Because God love the world well-well, na im make e give im special Son,* so that anybody wey show say e de put faith for-am, them no go destroy-am, but e go get life wey no go end.
17 Because God no send im Son come this world make e come judge the world, but na to use-am save the world.
18 Anybody wey de put faith for-am, them no go judge-am, but anybody wey no de put faith for-am, them don already judge-am, because e no de put faith for the name of the special Son of God.*
19 Now, this na wetin them go use judge: say the light don come the world, but people like darkness instead of light, because na wicked things them de do.
20 Because anybody wey de do bad things hate light, and e no de come where light dey, so that them no go condemn wetin e de do.*
21 But anybody wey de do the correct thing de like come where light dey, so that people go see the things wey e de do say, e de do-am well as God want.”
22 After this one, Jesus and im disciples go the village them for Ju·deʹa and e stay there for sometime with them, de baptize people.
23 But John too be de baptize people for Aeʹnon near Saʹlim, because big water dey for that place, and people de come and e de baptize them,
24 because them never put John for prison that time.
25 Now, the disciples of John be de argue with one Jew person about how person fit dey clean.
26 So them come meet John and tell-am say: “Rabbi, see, the man wey be dey with you for the other side of Jordan, wey you tell us about, de baptize people, and everybody de go meet-am.”
27 John come talk say: “Person no fit get anything at all unless say them don give-am from heaven.
28 Una be my witness say I talk say, ‘No be me be Christ, but them send me make I first-am come.’
29 Na the man wey de marry get the woman wey de marry, but when the friend of the man wey de marry stand there and hear im voice, e de happy no be small because of the voice of the man wey de marry. Na so me too de happy no be small.
30 The people wey de follow that one go de plenty more-more, but the people wey de follow me, go de small de go.”
31 The person wey come from heaven high pass everybody. The person wey come from this earth na from this earth and na things for this earth e de talk about. The person wey come from heaven high pass everybody.
32 E de tell people about wetin e don see and hear, but nobody de believe wetin e de talk.
33 Anybody wey believe wetin e talk don stamp-am* say, God de talk true.
34 Because the person wey God send de talk wetin God talk, because God no de tight hand when e de give im spirit.*
35 The Papa love the Son, and e don put everything for im hand.
36 The person wey show say e de put faith for the Son go get life wey no go end, the person wey no de obey the Son no go get life, and God no go stop to vex for-am.
