Luke 11:1-54
11 Now, e be dey one place de pray, and when e stop, one of im disciples come tell-am say: “Lord, teach us how to pray just as John teach im disciples too.”
2 So e tell them say: “Anytime wey una de pray, make una talk say: ‘Papa, make your name dey holy.* Make your Kingdom come.
3 Give us our bread for each day, according to wetin we need everyday.
4 And forgive us our sins, because we self de forgive everybody wey de owe us* too; and make you no allow us fall for temptation.’”*
5 Then e tell them say: “Make we talk say one of una get one friend and you go meet-am for midnight and tell-am say, ‘My friend, abeg borrow me three bread,
6 because one of my friends just come from far place come meet me now, and I no get anything to give-am.’
7 But that one come tell-am say: ‘Make you no disturb me, I don already lock the door and my small pikin them dey with me for bed. I no fit stand up give you anything.’
8 I de tell una say, even if e no go stand up give-am anything because say na im friend, e go surely stand up give-am wetin e need because e continue to beg-am, e no stop.
9 So I de tell una say, make una continue to ask and them go give una, continue to find and una go see, continue to knock and them go open for una.
10 Because anybody wey de ask go get wetin e de ask for and anybody wey de find something go see wetin e de find and anybody wey de knock, them go open for-am.
11 True-true, which papa among una wey im son go ask-am for fish, e go come give-am snake instead of fish?
12 Or if e ask-am for egg, e go give-am scorpion?
13 So, if una, even as una get sin for body,* know how to give una children better-better gifts, una no think say the Papa wey dey heaven go give holy spirit to people wey de ask-am?”
14 Later, e pursue one demon from one man body wey de make-am no fit talk. After the demon don come out, the man wey no fit talk come de talk, and the thing surprise the plenty people no be small.
15 But some people come talk say: “Na the power of Be·el′ze·bub, the ruler of the demons e de use pursue demons comot.”
16 And to test-am, other people come de tell-am say make e show them one sign from heaven.
17 As e be say Jesus know wetin them de think, e come tell them say: “Any kingdom wey the people no dey as one and de fight theirself go fall, and any family wey the people no dey as one and de fight theirself, go fall.
18 Na the same thing, if Satan de fight imself, how im kingdom go stand? Because una de talk say na Be·el′ze·bub de give me the power wey I take de pursue demons comot.

20 But if na the finger of God I de use pursue demons comot, e mean say the Kingdom of God don really pass una.
21 When strong man wey carry wetin them take de fight war de guard im house, nothing go fit happen to im property.
22 But when person wey strong pass-am come fight-am and win-am, that person go collect all those things wey e take de fight wey e be de trust, and e go divide the things wey e collect from-am give other people.
23 Anybody wey no dey my side dey against me, and anybody wey no follow me gather, de scatter.
24 “When wicked spirit* comot from person body, e de pass different-different place wey water no dey, de find where e go rest. And when e no see any place, e go tell imself say, ‘I go go back to my house wey I comot from.’
25 When e reach there, e come see say them don sweep the house clean and make everywhere fine.
26 Then e go, go bring seven other spirits wey wicked pass-am, and after them don enter inside the man, them come stay there. So the final condition of that man come worse pass as e first dey.”
27 As them de talk this things, one woman wey dey among the people come use loud voice tell-am say: “The belle wey carry you and the breast wey you suck go happy!”
28 But Jesus tell-am say: “No, instead, na people wey de hear the word of God and de do-am go happy!”
29 When plenty people don de gather together, e start to talk say: “This generation na wicked generation, e de look for sign, but them no go show-am any sign apart from the sign of Jo′nah.
30 Because just as Jo′nah be sign for the people of Nin′e·veh, na so the Son of man go be for this generation.
31 The queen of the south go come back to life for Judgment Day with the people of this generation and e go condemn them, because e travel come from far place to hear the better sense wey de come from Sol′o·mon mouth. But see! something wey pass Sol′o·mon dey here.
32 Nin′e·veh people go come back to life for Judgment Day with this generation and them go condemn-am, because them repent when Jo′nah preach to them. But see! something wey pass Jo′nah dey here.
33 When person light lamp, e no de put-am for place wey person no fit see-am or under basket,* but e de put-am ontop lampstand, so that people wey de come inside go fit see the light.
34 The lamp for your body na your eye. When your eye de look one place,* all your body go bright.* But when e de look different-different place,* all your body go dark.
35 So make sure say the light wey dey inside you no be darkness.
36 So if all your body dey bright and darkness no dey any part of-am, the whole body go bright like lamp wey de give you light.”
37 After e don talk this one, one Pharisee person come tell-am say make e come follow-am chop. So Jesus enter inside and sitdown de chop for table.
38 But the Pharisee person surprise when e see say Jesus no wash im hand* before e start to chop.
39 But the Lord tell-am say: “Now una wey be Pharisee people, una de wash the body of the cup and the plate, but na so-so long throat and wicked things na im full inside una.
40 Una wey no get sense! The person wey make outside still make inside, no be so?
41 But make the things wey una de give to help poor people* be things wey come from inside, and see! everything about una go dey clean.
42 But una go suffer, una wey be Pharisee people, because una de give the tenth part of the mint and the rue and every other plant* wey dey for garden, but una no de care about to judge for correct way and to show love like God! E dey important for una to do the first things, but that one no mean say una go forget about this other things.
43 Una go suffer, una wey be Pharisee people, because una de like the front* seats for synagogues and make people de greet una for market area them!
44 Una go suffer, because una be like grave* wey no show well, wey people de waka ontop and them no know say na grave!”
45 One of the people wey sabi the Law well-well come answer-am say: “Teacher, you de insult us too for this things wey you de talk.”
46 Jesus come talk say: “Una go suffer, una wey sabi the Law well-well, because una de carry heavy-heavy load press people down but una no de use even una fingers touch the loads!
47 “Una go suffer, because una de build the graves* of the prophets but na una papa-papa them kill them!
48 E clear say una know wetin una papa-papa them do, still una support wetin them do, because them kill the prophets but una de build their graves.
49 Na im make God show the kind sense wey e get when e still talk say: ‘I go send prophets and apostles to them. Them go kill some of them and suffer some of them,
50 so that the blood of all the prophets wey them kill from when the world start, go dey the head of this generation,
51 from the blood of Abel go reach the blood of Zech·a·ri′ah, wey them kill for the middle of the altar and the house.* True-true, I de tell una say, e go dey the head of* this generation.
52 “Una go suffer, una wey sabi the Law well-well, because una seize the key wey suppose open door for people to know God. Una no enter and una de try to stop people wey de enter!”
53 So when e comot from there, the scribes* and the Pharisee people start to disturb-am well-well and de ask-am plenty questions about other things,
54 de wait for-am to see whether e go talk something wey them go use catch-am.
