  • Example of the servant wey no do wetin correct (1-13)

    • ‘Person wey them fit trust for small thing na person wey them fit trust for big thing’ (10)

  • The Law and God Kingdom (14-18)

  • Example of the rich man and Lazarus (19-31)

16  Then e still tell im disciples say: “E get one rich man wey them tell say e servant wey dey in charge of im house* de waste im property.  So the man call-am and talk say, ‘Wetin be this thing wey I de hear about you? Go bring the record of everything wey you don do, because you no go fit take care of the house again.’  Then the servant come tell imself say, ‘Wetin I go do, as e be say my oga no want make I dey in charge of the house again? I no get power to de dig, and shame no go let me beg.  Ehen! I know wetin I go do, so that when them comot me from my position, people go welcome me come their house.’  Then e call each of the people wey de owe im oga, e come ask the first one say, ‘How much you de owe my oga?’  E come answer say, ‘Na one hundred measures* of olive oil.’ Then e tell-am say, ‘See your agreement, collect-am back, sitdown and write 50 quick-quick.’  Then e tell another one say, ‘What of you, how much you de owe?’ E talk say, ‘Na hundred big measures* of wheat.’ E come tell-am say, ‘See your agreement, collect-am back and write 80.’  The oga of the servant praise-am even though say wetin e do no correct, because e use sense do wetin go benefit imself, and that na because the children of this world* de show say them sabi use sense do wetin go benefit theirself when them de do things with their own generation, pass the children* of light.  “I still de tell una say make una use money from this world wey no dey righteous make friends for unaself. So that when the money no go dey again, them go welcome una to the place them wey people go stay forever. 10  Person wey them fit trust for small thing na person wey them fit still trust for big thing, and person wey no de do wetin correct for small thing na person wey no go still do wetin correct for big thing. 11  So if una never show say them fit trust una with the way una de use money from this world wey no dey righteous, who go give una the real thing? 12  And if una never show say them fit trust una with the way una de use another person property, who go give una, una own? 13  No servant go fit be slave for two oga, because if e hate one, e go love the other one. Or if e serve one with all im heart, e no go respect the other one. Una no fit be slaves for God and for Money.” 14  Now the Pharisee people, wey be say them like money too much de listen to all this things. Them come de use-am do yeye. 15  So e tell them say: “Una be people wey de talk for front of people say una dey righteous, but God know wetin dey una heart. Because wetin people de see as something wey get value well-well na nonsense thing for God eye. 16  “Na the Law and the things wey the Prophets talk, people de talk about until John come. But from that time go, na the Kingdom of God them de announce as good news and na all kind of people de struggle to enter-am. 17  True-true, e dey easy for heaven and earth to comot, than say part of any letter for the Law no happen. 18  “Anybody wey divorce im wife and marry another one don sleep with person wey no be im wife. And anybody wey marry woman wey im husband divorce don sleep with person wey no be im wife. 19  “E get one rich man wey be de always wear purple cloth and linen cloth and de enjoy life everyday with better-better things. 20  But e get one beggar wey im name na Laz′a·rus, wey them de always go put for im gate, and wounds full im body. 21  And e de hungry-am to chop the things wey de fall from the table of the rich man. Apart from that one, even the dogs go come de lick im wounds. 22  After some time, the beggar die, angels come carry-am go put-am near Abraham.* “The rich man die too and them bury-am. 23  As e dey inside the Grave* de suffer, e look up and see Abraham from far and Laz′a·rus wey dey near-am.* 24  So e raise im voice talk say, ‘Abraham my papa, pity me, make you send Laz′a·rus to come put the tip of im finger for water and cool my tongue, because I de suffer no be small for inside this strong fire wey I dey.’ 25  But Abraham talk say, ‘My pikin, remember say you enjoy better-better things when you dey alive, but Laz′a·rus suffer no be small. But now, them de make im mind come down for here, but you de suffer. 26  Apart from all this one, them don put one big space between we and una, so people wey want from here come una side no go fit, and people from una side no fit come here.’ 27  Then e talk say, ‘Since na so e be, papa, I de beg you say make you send-am go my papa house, 28  because I get five brothers, so that e go explain to them well, make them too no come this place wey I dey, de suffer so.’ 29  But Abraham talk say, ‘Moses and the Prophets dey with them, make them listen to them.’ 30  Then e talk say, ‘No, papa Abraham, them no go listen. But if somebody wey don die go meet them, them go repent.’ 31  But Abraham tell-am say, ‘If them no listen to Moses and the Prophets, person wey come back to life no go fit still make them change their mind.’”
