Mark 4:1-41
4 Then e start to teach again near the sea, and plenty-plenty people gather near-am. So e enter one boat and sitdown, and them shift the boat comot from the waterside small. But all the people still stand near the sea for where the waterside dey.
2 And e start to use examples teach them many things, and as e de teach them, e tell them say:
3 “Make una listen. See! One farmer go plant seed.
4 As e de plant, some seeds fall near road, and birds come chop them.
5 Other ones fall for area wey rock dey, where soil no too dey, and because the soil no deep, them no waste time before them start to grow.
6 But when sun come out, e dry them, and because them no get root, them come die.
7 Other seeds fall for where chuku-chuku dey, and the chuku-chuku grow kill them, so them no produce any fruit.
8 But other ones fall for better soil, and as them de grow de big, them come de produce fruit. Some produce 30 times pass wetin them plant, some 60, and other ones 100.”
9 Then e still talk say: “Make person wey get ear to listen, listen.”
10 Now, when e dey alone, the people wey dey around-am and the 12 apostles, come de ask-am question about the examples wey e use.
11 E tell them say: “Na una them don allow to understand the holy secret of the Kingdom of God. But for the other people, everything na example,
12 so that even though say them de look, them fit look, and still no see. And even though say them de hear, them fit hear, and still no understand wetin them hear; and them no go ever turn back so that God go forgive them.”
13 E still tell them say: “Una no understand this example, so how una go fit understand all the other examples?
14 “Na the word of God the farmer plant.
15 The seeds wey fall near road, na the people wey e be say as them just hear the word, Satan come take the word wey them plant inside them comot.
16 Na so e still be, the seeds wey fall for area wey rock dey, na people wey hear the word and quick-quick accept-am with joy.
17 But the word no get root for their heart, them just dey for short time; then as soon as trouble come or people start to suffer them because of the word, them just fall.
18 E still get other ones wey fall for where chuku-chuku dey. This na people wey don hear the word,
19 but overworry about problems for this world,* the power wey money get to deceive people, and as them want get every other thing, this things enter and kill the word, e no come produce fruit.
20 Last-last, the ones wey fall for the better soil, na people wey listen to the word, accept-am well, and really produce fruit. Some produce 30 times pass wetin them plant, some 60, and other ones 100.”
21 E still tell them say: “Them no de light lamp to put-am under basket* or under bed, them de do like that? No be ontop lampstand them de put-am when them light-am?
22 Because e no get anything wey them hide, wey them no go show people; and nothing wey them sofri cover wey no go open make people see-am.
23 Make anybody wey get ear to listen, listen.”
24 E come still tell them say: “Make una put mind for wetin una de hear. Because na wetin una de use measure give other people, na im them go use measure give una, yes o, them go add more join for una.
25 Because anybody wey get, them go give-am more, but anybody wey no get, even the one wey e get, them go collect-am from-am.”
26 E still talk say: “The Kingdom of God just be like when one man throw seeds for ground.
27 For night e de sleep and wake up when day break, and the seeds grow come out and big. But how that one take happen, the man no know.
28 Na the ground by imself de make seed grow small-small and bear fruit. Na the body go first come out, then the head, and for the end, fruit wey don mature go dey for the head.
29 But once the fruit don ready to harvest, e go use the farm knife* harvest-am, because the time to harvest don reach.
30 E come still talk say: “Wetin we fit use compare the Kingdom of God, or which example we fit use explain-am?
31 E be like mustard seed, wey be say for the time when them plant-am for ground, na im small pass all the other seeds for the earth.
32 But when them don plant-am, e de grow and big pass all the other plants,* and e de get big branch them, so that the birds wey de fly for up go fit come stay under im shadow.”
33 E use plenty of that kind of example tell them the word, as them fit understand reach.
34 The truth be say, e no de talk to them if e no use example, but e go explain everything to im disciples when e dey alone with them.
35 And when evening reach for that day, e tell them say: “Make we cross go the other side of the sea.”
36 So after them don tell the plenty people say make them go, them just carry-am for the boat de go. And other boats be dey with-am.
37 Then, serious strong breeze come start to blow for the sea, and the water for the sea wey de move up and down, de hit the boat and de enter sotey e almost cover the boat.
38 But Jesus be dey for back of the boat, de sleep ontop pillow. So them wake-am up and tell-am say: “Teacher, e no de worry you say na die we de die so?”
39 So e get up and command the strong breeze and tell the sea say: “E don do! Keep quiet!” The strong breeze come stop, and everywhere quiet no be small.
40 So e tell them say: “Why una de fear like that? Una never still get any faith?”
41 But them fear no be small and them ask each other say: “Who this person really be? Even strong breeze and sea de obey-am.”
