Mark 6:1-56

6  Then e comot from there and enter the area wey e grow, and im disciples follow-am.  When Sabbath day reach, e start to teach for the synagogue, and most of the people wey hear wetin e talk surprise no be small, them come de talk say: “Na from where this man get this things? And why them give-am this kind sense and the power to do this miracles?  This na the carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon, no be so? And im sisters dey here with us, no be so?” So this one come make them no believe-am.  But Jesus tell them say: “Them de honor prophet for everywhere apart from im own area, for im family and for im own house.”  So e no fit do any miracle for there, na only some people wey de sick e put im hand ontop and cure them.  The truth be say e surprise say them no get faith. And e go round the village them for that area de teach.  Then e call the 12 apostles and send them go out two-two and e give them power to de pursue wicked spirits comot.  E still tell them say apart from stick wey them de hold for hand, make them no carry anything as them de go—no bread, no food bag, no money* for their bag*  but make them wear sandals and no wear two cloth.* 10  E still tell them say: “For any place wey una enter any house, make una stay there until una comot from that place. 11  For any place wey them no welcome una or listen to una, when una de comot from there, make una shake the dust wey dey una leg comot so that e go be proof for them.” 12  So them comot, de preach say make people repent, 13  and them pursue plenty demons comot and use oil rub plenty people wey de sick and cure them. 14  Now, King Herod come hear about this one, because people don know Jesus name well-well, and them de talk say: “John the Baptizer don come back to life, na im make e get the power to do all this miracles.” 15  But other people de talk say: “Na E·li′jah.” Some other ones still de talk say: “Na prophet like one of the olden days prophets.” 16  But when Herod hear-am, e talk say: “Na the John wey I cut im head, wey don come back to life.” 17  Because Herod imself send people go arrest John and chain-am put for prison because of He·ro′di·as, the wife of Philip im brother, because Herod don marry-am. 18  Because John be don de tell Herod say: “You no get the right to take your brother wife as your wife.” 19  So He·ro′di·as be put John for mind and want kill-am, but e no fit. 20  Because Herod be de fear John as e know say na righteous and holy man e be, and e de try make sure say nothing happen to-am. Anytime wey e hear wetin John talk, e no de know wetin to do, but e still de happy to listen to-am. 21  But chance come out one day when Herod de do im birthday and e arrange evening party for im people wey get high position, the army commanders and the big-big men for Gal′i·lee. 22  The daughter of He·ro′di·as enter and dance and make Herod and the people wey de chop* with-am happy. Then the king tell the girl say: “Ask me anything wey you want and I go give you.” 23  E even swear and tell-am say: “Anything wey you ask me I go give you, even if na half of my kingdom self.” 24  So e comot and ask im mama say: “Wetin I go ask for?” E tell-am say: “The head of John the Baptizer.” 25  Quick-quick, e run go meet the king and tell-am wetin e want, say: “I want make you put the head of John the Baptist for tray give me now-now.” 26  Even though say this one pain the king no be small, because say e don swear and because of the people wey e invite,* e no want tell the girl say e no go do wetin e ask for. 27  So quick-quick, the king send one of im bodyguard and command-am to bring the head of John. So e comot go cut im head for prison 28  and use tray carry the head come. E carry-am give the girl and the girl carry-am give im mama. 29  When im disciples hear this one, them come carry im body and put-am inside grave.* 30  The apostles gather around Jesus and tell-am everything wey them don do and teach people. 31  Then e tell them say: “Make una come, make we go where people no dey so that una go rest small.” Because that time many people de come and de go sotey them no even get time to rest or even chop. 32  So them enter boat to go where people no dey so that them go dey alone. 33  But people see them as them de go, and plenty people come know about-am. And e start to teach them plenty things. 35  By this time, time don go, so im disciples come meet-am and tell-am say: “People no de live near this place and time don go well-well. 36  Tell them make them de go, so that them go fit go the areas and the village them wey dey around this place, and buy wetin them go chop for theirself.” 37  E answer them say: “Make una give them wetin them go chop.” So them tell-am say: “Make we go buy bread wey reach 200 de·nar′i·i and give the people make them chop?” 38  E come ask them say: “How many bread una get? Make una go check!” After them don check, them come talk say: “Na five bread, with two fish.” 39  And e tell all the people say make them sitdown group by group ontop the green grass. 40  So them sitdown group by group, some 100, some 50. 41  Then e take the five bread and the two fish, look heaven and pray.* Then e break the bread and start to give them to the disciples so that them go give them to the people. E come still divide the two fish for all of them. 42  So all the people chop belleful, 43  and when them gather wetin remain, e full 12 baskets, minus the fish. 44  Na 5,000 men chop the bread. 45  Then e no waste time tell im disciples make them enter boat go wait for-am for the other side of the sea, for the side wey near Beth·sa′i·da. As them de go, e come tell the plenty people make them de go too. 46  But after e don tell them bye-bye, e comot go one mountain go pray. 47  When evening reach, the boat be dey the middle of the sea, but e dey alone for land. 48  When e see them de struggle to paddle, because strong breeze de blow come, from the side wey them de go, and this time na around the fourth watch* of the night, then e come waka ontop the sea come meet them; but e waka like say e want pass them. 49  When them see-am de waka ontop the water, them come de think say na spirit. And them come de shout. 50  Because all of them see-am and fear catch them. But e talk to them quick-quick say: “Make una heart no cut! Na me, make una no fear.” 51  Then e enter the boat with them and the strong breeze stop. This one come really surprise them, 52  because them never understand wetin the bread wey e share mean, but e still de hard them to understand for their heart. 53  When them cross to the other side and reach where land dey, them enter Gen·nes′a·ret, them come tie the boat near there. 54  But as them just come down from the boat, people just know who e be. 55  Them come run round all that area and start to use bed* carry all the people wey de sick come where them hear say e dey. 56  And for any village, city or area around the city wey e enter, them go carry the sick people come the market area them, and them go beg-am say make them just touch the down part of the cloth wey e wear ontop, and all the people wey touch-am come well.
