Matthew 1:1-25

16 Jacob na Joseph papa, and Joseph na the husband of Mary wey be the mother of Jesus, wey them de call Christ.
17 So all the generations, from Abraham go reach David, na 14 generations; from David go reach the time wey them carry Israel people as slave go Babylon, na 14 generations; from the time wey them carry Israel people go Babylon reach the time of Christ, na 14 generations.
18 But this na wetin happen before them born Jesus Christ. Before Joseph start to live with Mary the mother of Jesus, after e don promise Mary say e go marry-am, them come see say holy spirit don make Mary get belle.
19 But because Joseph im husband na person wey de do wetin correct for God eye, and e no want make them disgrace Mary, e come plan say e go divorce-am. And e go do-am make people no know.
20 But after e don think about this things, see! Jehovah angel come appear to-am for dream, and tell-am say: “Joseph, son of David, make you no fear to carry your wife Mary go house, because na holy spirit make-am get the belle wey e carry so.
21 E go born boy, and the name wey una go give-am na Jesus,* because e go save people from their sins.”
22 All this things really happen to fulfill wetin Jehovah don use im prophet talk say:
23 “See! The virgin go get belle and e go born boy, and the name wey them go give-am na Im·man′u·el,” wey mean “God Dey With Us,” when them translate-am.
24 Then Joseph come wake up from sleep and do wetin the angel of Jehovah tell-am, and e carry im wife go house.
25 But e no sleep with im wife until e born the boy, and e call-am Jesus.
