Matthew 16:1-28
16 Then the Pharisee and Sadducee people come meet-am and to test-am, them come tell-am make e show them sign from heaven.
2 E come answer them say: “When evening reach, una de talk say, ‘The weather go good because the sky red,’
3 and for morning una go talk say, ‘Weather go cold and rain go fall today because the sky red, but the cloud dark.’ Una know how to use the sky talk how weather go be, but una no fit explain wetin the signs wey una de see this time mean.
4 Wicked generation wey don leave God* de always look for sign, but them no go show-am any sign apart from the sign of Jonah.” As e talk that one finish, e comot leave them.
5 The disciples come cross go the other side, and them forget to carry bread as them de go.
6 Jesus come tell them say: “Make una open una eye well and dey careful because of the yeast of the Pharisee and Sadducee people.”
7 Them come de talk to theirself say: “We no carry any bread follow body o.”
8 As Jesus know wetin them de talk, e come ask them say: “Why una come de talk to unaself say una no carry any bread, una wey get small faith?
9 Una never still understand wetin I de talk, or una no remember how I use five bread feed 5,000 men and how many basket una gather?
10 Or how I use seven bread feed 4,000 men and how many big baskets una gather?
11 Why una no understand say no be bread I de tell una about? But say make una dey careful about the yeast of the Pharisee and Sadducee people.”

13 When Jesus come Caes·a·re′a Phi·lip′pi area, e come ask im disciples say: “Who people de talk say the Son of man be?”
14 Them come talk say: “Some people de talk say na John the Baptist, other people say na E·li′jah, and other people de talk say na Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 E come ask them say: “What of una, who una de talk say I be?”
16 Simon Peter come answer-am say: “Na you be the Christ, the Son of the God wey dey alive.”
17 Jesus come tell-am say: “Make you happy, Simon son of Jo′nah, because no be person* make you know this one, but na my Papa wey dey heaven make you know-am.
18 I still de tell you say: You be Peter, and na ontop this rock I go build my congregation and the gates of Grave* no go get power pass-am.
19 I go give you the keys of the Kingdom wey dey heaven, and anything wey you tie for earth, them go don already tie-am for heaven. And anything wey you loose for earth, them go don already loose-am for heaven.”
20 Then e come give the disciples serious warning say make them no tell anybody say na im be the Christ.
21 From that time, Jesus come start to explain to im disciples say e must go Jerusalem and suffer well-well for the hand of the elders, chief priests and scribes* and them go kill-am, and for the third day, God go bring-am back to life.
22 This one come make Peter take-am go one corner and start to quarrel with-am say: “Lord, pity yourself. This thing no go happen to you at all.”
23 But Jesus turn im back to Peter and tell-am say: “Comot from my front Satan! You de block my way,* because you de think the way people de think, no be the way God de think.”
24 Then Jesus tell im disciples say: “If anybody want follow me, make e deny imself and carry im torture pole* and continue to follow me.
25 Because anybody wey de try to save im life* go lose-am, but anybody wey lose im life* because of me go get-am back.
26 True-true, wetin person go gain if e get all the things wey dey the world, but e come lose im life?* Or wetin person fit give to fit get im life* back?
27 Because the Son of man go come with the glory of im Papa and with im angels, and e go use the things wey each person do pay-am back.
28 True-true, I de tell una say, some people wey stand here no go die at all until them first see the Son of man as e de come for im Kingdom.”
