Matthew 8:1-34
8 After e come down from the mountain, plenty-plenty people come de follow-am.
2 See! One man wey get leprosy come and bow down for-am, and e talk say: “Lord, if you want, you fit make me clean.”
3 So e stretch im hand, touch-am, and talk say: “I want do-am! Make you dey clean.” At once, the leprosy comot from im body, and e clean.
4 Jesus come tell-am say: “Make sure say you no tell anybody, but make you go show yourself to the priest, and give-am the gift wey the law of Moses talk, so that e go show them say you don well.”
5 When e enter Ca·per′na·um, one army officer come meet-am and de beg-am
6 de talk say: “Oga, my servant dey ground for house, e get one sickness wey make-am no fit move im body and e de suffer no be small.”
7 E come tell-am say: “I go heal-am when I reach there.”
8 The army officer come tell-am say: “Oga, I no reach for you to come my house. Just talk say make my servant well, and e go well.
9 Because me self be person wey dey under other people, and I still get soldiers wey dey under me. When I tell this one say, ‘Go!’ e go go, when I tell another one say, ‘Come!’ e go come, and when I command my slave say, ‘Do this thing!’ e go do-am.”
10 When Jesus hear wetin the man talk, e surprise no be small. E come tell people wey de follow-am say: “I de tell una the truth say, I never see anybody for Israel wey get this kind strong faith.
11 But I de tell una say plenty people wey come from east and west go come sitdown for table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, for the Kingdom wey dey heaven,
12 but them go throw the sons of the Kingdom for outside wey darkness dey. Na there them go dey, de cry and de grind their teeth.”*
13 Jesus come tell the army officer say: “Make you go! Because you don show say you get faith, make wetin you want happen.” And the servant just well for that same time.
14 When Jesus enter Peter house, e come see say the mama of Peter wife get fever, and e lie down.
15 So Jesus touch im hand, the fever come comot from im body. The woman come get up and start to do things for-am.
16 But when evening reach, people come de bring plenty people wey demon dey their body to-am. E go just talk, and the demons go come out. And e heal all the people wey de sick,
17 so that wetin God use Isaiah the prophet talk go happen say: “E carry our sickness and our pain.”*
18 When Jesus see plenty people wey dey around-am, e tell im disciples say make them follow-am go the other side.
19 And one person wey be scribe* come meet-am and tell-am say: “Teacher, I go follow you go anywhere wey you go.”
20 But Jesus tell-am say: “Fox* them get hole wey them de stay, and birds wey de fly for up get house wey them de stay. But the Son of man no get place wey e de put im head.”
21 Then another disciple come tell-am say: “Lord, allow me make I first go bury my papa.”
22 But Jesus tell-am say: “Continue to follow me and make people wey don die bury their people wey don die.”
23 Then e come enter boat, and im disciples follow-am.
24 But after, strong breeze come start to blow for the sea, sotey the water for the sea wey de move up and down want cover the boat. But that time, e de sleep.
25 Them come wake-am up, de talk say: “Lord, save us, na die we de die so!”
26 But e tell them say: “Why una de fear like that, una wey get small faith?” Then e get up and command the strong breeze and the sea, everywhere come quiet no be small.
27 The thing surprise the disciples no be small, and them talk say: “Which kind person be this? Even strong breeze and the sea de obey-am.”
28 When e reach the other side, wey be Gad·a·ra people area, two men wey demon dey their body, wey de come out from where them de bury people, come meet-am. The men wicked well-well, so nobody de get the mind to pass that road.
29 And them come de shout, de talk say: “Wetin concern we and you, Son of God? You come here come punish us before the time wey them don fix go reach?”
30 Them come see plenty pigs wey de chop for one place wey far from there.
31 So the demons come start to beg-am, de talk say: “If you pursue us, make you pursue us enter the pigs.”*
32 E come tell them say: “Make una go!” Na so the demons just come out and enter inside the pigs, and see! all the pigs come rush go the edge of the mountain, fall inside sea, and them come die inside the water.
33 But the people wey de care for the pigs run. As them enter the city, them tell the people everything wey happen and the story about the two men wey demon dey their body.
34 And all the people for the city come out to meet Jesus. When them see-am, them come de beg-am say make e comot from their area.
