Philippians 1:1-30
1 Paul and Timothy, wey be slaves of Christ Jesus de greet all the holy ones wey be one with Christ Jesus for Phi·lip′pi, together with the overseers* and ministerial servants:
2 Make the special favor and peace from God our Papa and the Lord Jesus Christ dey with una.
3 I de always thank my God when I remember una
4 anytime wey I really beg God for prayer about all of una. Each time wey I really beg God like this, I de do-am with joy.
5 This one na because of wetin una don do to support* the good news from the first day reach now.
6 I really dey sure of this one say, the person wey start the good work for inside una go continue until e finish-am for the day of Christ Jesus.
7 Na really correct thing for me to think like this about all of una because una dey my heart, and una de join me enjoy the same special favor and una don support me when I dey for prison. And una support me to defend the good news and to use law continue to make the good news stand well.
8 God know say I really want see all of una because the deep love wey I get for una be like the one wey Christ Jesus get for una.
9 And I de continue to pray say make una love de grow more-more with the correct teaching and deep sense wey dey complete.
10 I de pray say make una make sure say una de choose the things wey dey important pass, so that una go dey pure and una no go shake the faith of* other people until the day of Christ.
11 And I still de pray say make una continue to get more good* fruit wey Jesus Christ de use us produce, to bring honor and praise to God.
12 Now my brothers, I want make una know say my condition don even help to spread the good news more-more.
13 As I dey for prison because of Christ, this one don spread among all the palace guard and all the other people.
14 Now because I dey prison, plenty of the brothers wey de do the work of the Lord don strong more. Them de show say them get strong heart more-more and them no de fear to talk about the word of God.
15 True-true, some people de preach about Christ because of bad belle and competition, but other people de do-am for good reason.
16 Na love de make this second group of people de talk about Christ, because them know say God don choose me to defend the good news.
17 But the first group de do-am because of quarrel wey them get for mind, no be for good reason, because them want cause trouble for me when I dey prison.
18 Wetin be the result? Anyhow wey e be, whether them de pretend or them de do-am for good reason, them de make people know about Christ, and this one de make me de happy. The truth be say I go continue to dey happy,
19 because I know say this one go save me as una de really beg God for help and as the spirit of Jesus Christ de support me.
20 This one agree with wetin I really want and de hope for, say nothing go make me shame. But I no go fear to continue to talk so that my body go fit praise Christ now, as I de always do before, whether with my life or my death.
21 For my situation, if I live, I de live for Christ, and if I die, na gain for me.
22 Now if I continue to live for this body, this one go mean say I fit continue to produce fruit for my work. But I no go fit talk the one wey I go choose.
23 E de hard me to choose between this two things, because I want dey free from this body to dey with Christ, and I dey sure say na this one better pass for me by far.
24 But e still dey important say make I continue to dey alive for this body because of una.
25 So, as I dey sure about this one, I know say I go continue to dey with all of una so that una go continue to grow and get joy because of una faith,
26 so that because of me, the joy wey una get as una de follow Christ Jesus go de plenty more-more when I dey with una again.
27 The only thing wey I want be say make una de live una life for way wey agree with the good news about the Christ, so that whether I come and see una or I no come, I go fit hear good things about una and know say una stand well with one spirit and one heart,* as una de work together to make the faith wey una get for the good news strong.
28 And make una no allow people wey dey against una make una fear at all. This one na proof say God go destroy them but save una, and this proof na from God.
29 Them don give una the chance, no be only to put faith for Christ, but to still suffer for-am.
30 Una de face the same struggle wey una see say I face and wey una hear now say I still de face.
