Romans 1:1-32
Me, Paul, wey be slave of Christ Jesus, and wey them call to be apostle and choose* to preach the good news of God, de write to una.
Before now, God use im prophets to promise this good news for im holy Word.
This message na about im Son, wey come from the family* of David for flesh.
But God use the power of the spirit wey dey holy to make-am really dey clear say na the Son of God e be when e bring-am back to life—yes, na Jesus Christ our Lord.
Through Jesus, we don receive special favor and become apostle, so that because of faith, people among the nations go obey to honor im name.
From among the nations, God don still call una to follow Jesus Christ.
This letter na for all the people for Rome wey God love and wey e don call to be holy ones:
Make the special favor and peace from God our Papa and the Lord Jesus Christ dey with una.
First of all, I de thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of una, because them de talk about una faith for the whole world.
Because God, the Person wey I de do holy work for with all my heart* as I de preach the good news about im Son, really know say I never stop to always mention una for my prayers.
I de beg God say, if e dey possible at all, and if na wetin e want, make I fit come meet una at last.
I really want see una, so that I go fit give una some gift from God to make una dey strong.
Or, so that we fit encourage each other with our faith, una own and my own.
But my brothers, I want make una know say I don plan to come see una plenty times, so that I go fit still get some better result among una, just as e don happen among people of the other nations, but something don stop me come reach now.
For people wey be Greek and people from another country,* for people wey get sense and for people wey no get sense, I de owe all of them.
So e de hungry me to preach the good news to una too wey dey Rome.
I no de shame for the good news. True-true, the good news na the power wey God de use save everybody wey get faith. For Jew people first and then Greek people.
God de use-am show say e dey righteous,* because of faith and for faith, just as them don write-am say: “But the person wey dey righteous go live because of faith.”
From heaven, God de show say e de vex for all the bad and wicked things wey people de do and as them de cover the truth for bad way,
because the things wey them fit know about God really dey clear to them. Na God make-am dey clear to them.
Im character them wey eye no fit see dey clear to see from when e make the world, because we fit learn about this character them from the things wey e make. This things de even show im power wey no de end and say e really be God, so that nobody go fit give excuse say e no know.
Even though say them know God before, them no honor-am as God and them no thank-am, but them don dey foolish for the way them de reason, and their heart wey sense no dey don dey dark.
Even though say them de claim say them get sense, them don dey foolish.
And them turn the honor of the God wey no fit die to something wey be like the image of man wey de die and birds and animals with four legs and animals wey de crawl.*
So, God leave them make them do the things wey their heart want, as e allow them to do things wey no clean, so that their body fit get disgrace among them.
Them choose to believe lie instead of the truth of God, and them worship and do holy work for the things wey God make, instead of for God wey make this things, the person wey suppose get praise forever. Amen.
Na because of this one, God allow them to get feeling for sex wey de bring shame, as the women change the normal way wey them suppose use their body to the one wey no dey normal.
For the same way too, the men don leave the normal way wey them suppose use their body with women and them don get strong feeling to do sex with one another wey them no want control, man with man, them de do rotten things with one another. And them go get the full punishment* wey them suppose get for the bad thing wey them de do.
Just as them no see say na important thing to know God,* God leave them make them continue to think their useless things for head, make them de do the things wey them no suppose do.
And for every way, them de always do wetin no correct, do wicked things, get long throat,* and do bad things. Them de always get bad belle, de kill people, de fight-fight, de deceive, and de carry bad thing for heart. Them be people wey de gossip,
de talk bad against people, people wey hate God, them no get respect for anybody at all, them de think say them better pass other people, de make mouth, de plan bad things,* them no de obey papa and mama,
them no de understand things, them no de do wetin them don agree, them no get normal human feeling for people, and them no get mercy at all.
Even as this people really know the correct judgment from God—say people wey de do this kind thing suppose die—them no only continue to do-am, but them still de support the people wey de do-am.
