Romans 11:1-36
11 So I de ask, God no reject im people, e do like that? No way! Because I be Israel person too, from the family line* of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.
2 God no reject im people wey e first know for special way. Una no know wetin the word of God talk about E·li′jah as e de beg God, de complain about Israel people?
3 E talk say: “Jehovah, them don kill your prophets, them don dig your altars comot, and na only me remain, and now them de try to kill me.”*
4 But wetin God tell-am? “I still get 7,000 men for myself wey remain and them never kneel down for Ba′al.”
5 So for the same way, for this time too, e still get people wey remain wey God don choose because of im special favor.
6 Now if na because of special favor, then e no go fit be because of wetin person de do. If no be so, the special favor no go be special favor again.
7 So, wetin we go talk? The thing wey Israel try im best to get, e no get-am, but the people wey God choose, na them get-am. The rest of them make their heart strong,
8 just as the word of God don talk say: “Till today, God don give them spirit of deep sleep, eyes wey no de see and ears wey no de hear.”
9 And David talk say: “Make their table be danger and trap and something wey de fall person and punishment for them.
10 Make their eyes dey dark so that them no go fit see, and always make them bend their back.”
11 So I ask say, Jew people no fall sotey them fall finish, na wetin happen to them be that? No way! But because of their sin, God save people of the nation to make them jealous.
12 Now, if their sin bring plenty blessings to the world and when them reduce, this one bring plenty blessings to people of the nations, then true-true, their complete number go bring plenty more blessings!
13 Now I de talk to una wey be people of the nations. Because I be apostle to the nations, I de honor my work for God*
14 to see whether somehow, I fit make my own people* jealous and save some people among them.
15 If as God troway them, this one help people for the world to get peace with God, how e go be if God accept them? E go be like say them come back to life from death.
16 Another thing be say, if the part of the flour wey them don mix and take as firstfruits dey holy, then the whole flour wey them don mix dey holy too; and if the root dey holy, the branch them dey holy too.
17 But if God break some of the branch them comot, and you, even as you be bush olive tree, God join you with them and you start to get share from the better-better things wey dey the root of the olive,
18 make you no de carry body up for* the branch them. But if you de carry body up for* them, make you remember say you no de support the root, but na the root de support you.
19 So you go talk say: “God break some of the branch them comot so that e go fit bring me join.”
20 That one na true! Because them no get faith, God break them comot, but you de stand because of your faith. Make you no de think say na you better pass. Instead, make you de fear.
21 If God no leave the original branches, e no go leave you too.
22 So you see say, God dey kind and e de give punishment. E give punishment to people wey fall, but e dey kind to you, as long as you continue to do wetin go make-am dey kind to you, if no be so, e go cut you comot too.
23 And for Jew people too, if them start to show faith, God go bring them join because God fit join them back inside.
24 If God be cut you from the bush olive tree and bring you join the garden olive tree even as this one no be something wey dey normal, then true-true, e go dey more easy to bring back the original branch them join their own olive tree!
25 So my brothers, I want make una know this holy secret, so that una no go think say una get sense: Part of Israel people don make their heart strong, until the complete number of people of the nations don come inside,
26 and for this way, God go save all Israel. Just as them don write-am say: “The person wey de save go come from Zion and help the children of Jacob to stop to do bad things.
27 And this one na my agreement with them when I remove their sins.”
28 Na true say them be enemies of the good news for una gain. But God don choose them and e really love them because of their papa-papa them.
29 God no go regret the gift wey e don give and the call wey e don call people.
30 And una no be de obey God, but God don show una mercy now, because the Jew people no obey.
31 Now as them no obey, God don show una mercy so that e go fit show them mercy too.
32 God don allow all of them together to be prisoners as people wey no obey so that e go fit show all of them mercy.
33 The better-better things of God and im sense and the things wey e know really dey deep no be small! Person no fit really understand the way e de judge and person no fit really know im ways!
34 Because “who don know the mind of Jehovah, or who fit advice-am?”
35 Or, “who don first give God something, so that e must pay the person back?”
36 Because everything come from God and everything dey because of God and for God. Make e get the glory forever. Amen.
