  • Put yourself under people wey dey authority (1-7)

    • To pay tax (6, 7)

  • Love complete the Law (8-10)

  • De behave well like people wey de do things for daytime (11-14)

13  Make everybody* put imself under the high authorities wey de rule, because no authority dey except say God allow-am. This authorities wey de rule now dey for their different-different position wey God allow.  So, anybody wey dey against the authority de fight against the thing wey God don arrange; and people wey de fight against-am go bring judgment for theirself.  And this people wey de rule de bring fear, no be for people wey de do good, but na for people wey de do bad. You want dey free from the fear wey the authority de bring? Then make you continue to do good, and them go praise you.  Them de work for God for you to gain. But if you de do bad thing, make you de fear, because the authority get reason why e de carry sword. God de use them work, to punish* person wey de do bad thing.  So good reason dey for una to put unaself under them, no be only because of that punishment,* but na still because of una conscience.  Because of this one, una still de pay tax them; because them be servants of God wey de work to benefit people and them de always do this work.  Give everybody wetin them suppose get: for the person wey want make you pay tax, pay the tax; for the person wey want make you pay government fee, pay the fee; for the person wey want make you fear-am, give-am that fear; for the person wey want make you honor-am, give-am that honor.  Make una no de owe anybody anything, except to love one another; because anybody wey love im neighbor don do wetin the law talk.  Because the commandments for the law talk say, “Make you no sleep with person wey no be your husband or wife, make you no kill person, make you no thief, make you no ever put eye for another person thing,” and any other commandment wey dey, dey inside this one thing wey be: “You must love your neighbor as yourself.” 10  Love no de do bad to im neighbor; so na love complete the law. 11  And make una do this one because una know the season, say the time don already reach for una to wake up from sleep, because now the time for God to save us don near pass when we become disciples. 12  The night don almost end, the day don near. So make we troway the things wey connect with darkness and make we wear the weapons of light.* 13  Make we de behave well like people wey de do things for daytime, no be to do party wey people de behave anyhow and de overdrink, no be to do sex wey no clean and de open eye de do bad thing with no shame,* no be to de fight and de jealous. 14  But make una wear the Lord Jesus Christ like cloth, and make una no de plan to do the things wey the body want.
