Romans 9:1-33
9 I de talk the truth as person wey de follow Christ; I no de lie, as my conscience wey holy spirit de guide de support me*
2 say I de feel serious pain wey no de finish for inside my heart.
3 And if e dey possible, I wish say na me for separate from Christ as the person wey them don curse, so that my brothers go gain, my country people
4 wey be Israel people. God make them im sons, and show them im glory, and give them the agreement, and the Law, and the honor to worship-am, and the promise them.
5 Them come from our papa-papa them, and Christ come from them for flesh. Make God wey be head of everything get praise forever. Amen.
6 But, no be say the word of God don fail. Because no be everybody wey come from Israel really be “Israel.”
7 No be all of them be real children just because them be children* of Abraham. Instead, God talk say, “The people wey them go call your children* go come from Isaac.”
8 This one show say, the children for flesh no be really the children of God, but the children wey come because of the promise, na them God de see as the real children.*
9 And the promise wey God make talk say: “For this time, I go come and Sarah go get son.”
10 No be only that time, but e still happen when Re·bek′ah get belle with twins for one man wey be Isaac, our papa-papa.
11 And when them never even born them and them never de do any good thing or bad thing, God show say the thing wey e get for mind about how to choose who e want, no go be because of wetin the person de do, but e go be because of God wey call-am.
12 So God tell Re·bek′ah say: “The senior one go be slave to the junior one.”
13 Just as them don write-am say: “I love Jacob, but I hate E′sau.”
14 So wetin we go talk? God de do partial? E no go fit ever happen!
15 And God tell Moses say: “I go show mercy to anybody wey I want show mercy to, and I go show pity to anybody wey I want show pity to.”
16 So God no de choose person just because of wetin the person want, or how the person de try reach,* instead, na because of God wey get mercy.
17 So the word of God tell Phar′aoh say: “Na because of this reason I allow you to dey alive: to use you show my power and to make people know my name for the whole earth.”
18 So, God de show mercy to anybody wey e want, but e de allow anybody wey e want to dey stubborn.
19 So you go ask me say: “Why e still de look for fault? Who fit fight against wetin e want?”
20 But who you be, O man, to answer God back? The thing wey them mold de tell the person wey mold-am say: “Why you make me like this?”
21 The person wey de use clay mold things no get right to use the same clay to make container wey them de use for important thing, and another container wey them de use for something wey no dey important?
22 So, what if God really show how e dey patient as e leave people wey make-am vex* and wey e suppose destroy, even though say e be want show the way e vex and show im power?
23 And what if e do this one to show im plenty glory for people wey go accept im mercy,* people wey e don prepare before time to get glory,
24 wey be, we, wey e don call, no be only from among Jew people, but still from among people of the nations?
25 E just be like as e still talk for the book of Ho·se′a say: “The people wey no be my people, I go call them ‘my people,’ and the woman wey I no love before, I go call-am, ‘the person wey I really love.’
26 And for the place wey them tell them say, ‘Una no be my people,’ for there them go call them, ‘sons of the God wey dey alive.’”
27 Apart from that one, Isaiah talk loud about Israel say: “Even though say the number of the sons of Israel fit plenty like the sand of the sea, na only the ones wey remain God go save.
28 And Jehovah go judge the earth, e go complete-am and e go do-am quick-quick.”*
29 And just as Isaiah don talk say: “If to say Jehovah of armies no leave some people* for us, we for don be like Sod′om, and we for don resemble Go·mor′rah.”
30 So wetin we go talk? Na say people of the nations, even though say them no try to dey righteous, God see them as righteous people because of faith.
31 But Israel, even as them try to follow law wey dey righteous, them no succeed for that law.
32 So wetin be the reason? Na because them try to do-am, no be through faith, but na through wetin them de do. Them fall because of the “stone wey de make people fall”;
33 as them don write-am say: “See! For Zion, I de set one stone wey de make people fall and rock wey de block their road, but the person wey put im faith for-am no go shame.”
