One Israel person wey dem dey call Nehemiah na servant for King Artaxerxes palace wey dey Shushan. E live the same time with Ezra. Nehemiah brother come tell am the bad things wey dey happen for Judah, e tell am sey: ‘People wey go back to Jerusalem no dey save at all. Dem never still build the fence and gate wey Babylon people destroy.’ Nehemiah no happy at all. E want go help im people for Jerusalem, so e pray make Jehovah touch the king mind make e let am go.

After some time, the king come see sey Nehemiah no dey happy. E come tell Nehemiah sey: ‘I never see you like this before. Wetin dey happen?’ Nehemiah answer am sey: ‘Why I go dey happy, when Jerusalem wey I come from don scatter finish?’ The king come tell am sey: ‘Wetin you want make I do for you?’ Na once Nehemiah pray for im mind. E come tell the king sey: ‘Abeg, allow me go Jerusalem, make I go build the fence again.’ King Artaxerxes tell Nehemiah sey e fit go, e even make sure sey nothing happen to Nehemiah till e reach there. E give Nehemiah wood wey e go take build the gate and e still make am governor for Judah.

When Nehemiah reach Jerusalem, e go check the fence. E come gather priest and people wey dey rule, and tell dem sey: ‘This thing no good at all. We need to start work.’ Everybody gree for wetin e talk, dem come start to dey build the fence.

But some of their enemy come dey use dem do yeye, dem sey: ‘Only one bush dog fit scatter this fence wey una dey build.’ Dem no reason wetin their enemy talk, dem continue to dey build. The fence come dey high and strong more more.

Their enemy plan to come from different different side come fight dem. When Jew people hear their plan, dem come dey fear. But Nehemiah tell dem sey: ‘Make una no fear, Jehovah dey our back.’ Nehemiah come choose strong men wey go dey guard the people as dem dey work. This one make their enemy no fit fight dem.

Na 52 days dem take build the fence and the gate finish. Nehemiah come gather all the Levite for Jerusalem, make dem remember how Jehovah take help dem build the fence. He arrange dem for two group. Dem go dey sing. The two group climb upstair wey dey the Fountain Gate and march pass different place around Jerusalem. As dem dey march dey go, dem come dey play trumpet, harp (guitar) and dey sing song to praise Jehovah. Ezra follow one group, Nehemiah follow the other group. The two group come meet for temple. All the men, women and children sacrifice many animal to Jehovah. Dem happy well well sotey people wey dey far far place dey hear their voice.
