The Pikin Come Back to Life

That time wey rain no fall, Jehovah tell Elijah sey: ‘Go Zarephath. One woman wey e husband don die go give you food chop.’ As Elijah reach the city gate, e see one poor woman wey e husband don die dey gather wood. E come tell the woman make e give am water drink. As the woman dey go give am the water, e tell am again sey: ‘Abeg still bring small bread join.’ The woman come sey: ‘I no get bread wey I go give you. Na only small flour and oil wey I go take do bread for me and my pikin I get.’ Elijah come tell am sey: ‘Jehovah don promise sey if you do small bread for me, your flour and oil no go finish until rain fall again.’

The woman come go house go do bread for Elijah. True true, as Jehovah talk am, the woman and im pikin no hungry until rain fall. The pot wey e dey put flour and oil no empty.

But one bad thing come happen. The woman pikin come sick well well and even die. The woman come dey beg make Elijah help am. Elijah come carry the pikin for im hand go the room wey dey upstair for the house. E put am for bed come pray sey: ‘Jehovah, abeg bring this pikin come back to life.’ You know why this thing go surprise everybody if Jehovah do am? Na because nobody don come back to life before. Another thing be sey, this woman and im pikin no come from Israel.

But the pikin come back to life and start to dey live. Elijah tell the woman sey: ‘See! Your pikin don come back to life.’ The woman happy well well, e come tell Elijah sey: ‘You be really man of God. I know because you dey talk only wetin Jehovah tell you and e dey always happen.’
