1-2. Why Jesus be dey under stress?

SOME things trouble Jesus for mind for the last day wey e live for this earth before e die. Small time, e go suffer and die for the hand of wicked people. But wetin de trouble Jesus pass that one. Apart from say Jesus go soon die, e really love e Father, and e want do wetin go make e Father happy. The test wey Jesus go soon face no go easy at all, and e know say if e dey faithful, e go help to remove lie-lie from the name of e Father and show say the Father deserve respect. Jesus still love people, and e know say na if e dey faithful to Jehovah till e die we go get hope of everlasting life.

² Even though say Jesus dey under serious stress, e still get peace of mind. E don tell the apostles before say: “I give wuna my peace.” (John 14:27) Jesus get “the peace wey God de give,” the calm heart wey person de get when e get good friendship with Jehovah. That peace make the mind and heart of Jesus come down.​—Phil. 4:6, 7.

3. Wetin we go talk about for this topic?

³ Nobody among us go ever face the kind problem wey Jesus endure, but all followers of Jesus go face problems. (Matt. 16:24, 25; John 15:20) And like Jesus, our heart go trouble us sometimes. Wetin we fit do so that we no go over worry and stop to get peace of mind? Make we talk about three things wey Jesus do when e dey this earth de do the work of God. And we go see how we fit imitate Jesus when we de face problems.

4. With wetin dey 1 Thessalonians 5:17, give some examples to show say Jesus no tire to pray for the last day of e life for this earth.

⁴ Read 1 Thessalonians 5:17. Jesus pray many times throughout the last day wey e live for this earth before e die. When e show the disciples how to remember e death, e pray ontop the bread and wine. (1 Cor. 11:23-25) Before e comot for the place wey they don do the Passover, e pray with the disciples. (John 17:1-26) When Jesus and the disciples reach the Mount of Olives that night, e pray different-different times. (Matt. 26:36-39, 42, 44) And the last things wey Jesus talk before e die, na prayer. (Luke 23:46) Jesus talk to Jehovah for prayer about everything wey happen for the last day of e life for this earth.

5. Why the strong heart wey the apostles get come dey weak?

⁵ Jesus no tire to pray because e trust the Father. This one na one reason why Jesus fit endure the problems wey e face. But the apostles no continue to pray that night. Because of that one, their strong heart come dey weak when they face problem. (Matt. 26:40, 41, 43, 45, 56) When we de face problems, we go fit dey faithful only if we follow the example of Jesus and “continue de pray.” Wetin we fit pray for?

6. How faith go help us continue to get peace?

⁶ We fit pray make Jehovah “give us more faith.” (Luke 17:5; John 14:1) We need faith because Satan go test everybody wey de follow Jesus. (Luke 22:31) How faith go help us continue to get peace even when problem de come to us one by  one? When we don do everything wey we fit do to handle problem, faith go make us leave the matter with Jehovah. Because we trust Jehovah say e fit handle matter pass the way we fit handle-am, we go get peace of mind and heart.​—1 Pet. 5:6, 7.

7. Wetin you learn from the things wey Brother Robert talk?

⁷ Prayer de help us continue to get peace of mind no matter the problems wey we de face. Make we see the example of one faithful elder wey e name na Robert. This brother don pass 80 years now. E talk say: “The advice for Philippians 4:6, 7 don help me to fit manage plenty problem for my life. I don face money problem before. And they don drop me as elder for sometime before.” Wetin don help Robert continue to get peace of mind? E talk say: “I de pray anytime wey my mind just begin worry me. I believe say the more I de pray and pour my heart to God for prayer, the more I de get peace.”

8. As e dey for John 8:29, wetin be another reason why Jesus get peace of mind?

⁸ Read John 8:29. Even when people suffer Jesus, e continue to get peace of mind because e know say e de make the Father glad. Jesus continue to obey God when condition hard. E love Jehovah and show say the worship of God na the number one thing for e life. Jesus na God’s “master worker” before e come this earth. (Prov. 8:30) And when e dey this earth, e use all e heart and power to teach people  about the Father. (Matt. 6:9; John 5:17) Jesus really get joy from that work.​—John 4:34-36.

9. Why we de get peace of mind when we dey busy for the preaching work?

⁹ We fit imitate Jesus when we obey Jehovah and “always de get plenty things to do for the work of the Lord.” (1 Cor. 15:58) When we “dey busy” with our preaching work, we go fit face our problems with good mind. (Acts 18:5) For example, we de see people for our preaching work and many times, this people de face problems wey worse pass our own. But, when they learn to love Jehovah and do wetin e talk, their life de better pass before and they go happy more. Anytime wey something like that happen, we de believe more-more say Jehovah go care for us. That kind belief de help us make we continue to get peace of mind. One sister see say this one na true. Before, she de always feel sad and she don always feel say she dey useless for her life. The sister talk say, “When I dey busy de preach I de glad more and control my feeling more. I feel say na because when I dey field service, I de feel close to Jehovah pass any other time.”

10. Wetin you learn from the things wey Sister Brenda talk?

¹⁰ Another example na the one of Sister Brenda. This sister and her daughter de suffer from one serious sickness wey the name na multiple sclerosis. Na wheelchair Brenda de use waka and she no too get power to de do things. She de preach from house to house sometimes, but many times na letter she de use preach. She talk say: “When I understand and accept-am say my sickness no get cure for this life, I come dey free to put all my mind for the preaching work. The truth be say, I no de think about my problem when I de preach. Instead, e de make me think about how to help the people wey I want preach to for our congregation territory. And when I de preach, I de always think about the hope wey I get for future.”

11-13. (a) How the apostles and other people show say they be real friends to Jesus? (b) How Jesus friends make Jesus feel?

¹¹ For all the time wey Jesus spend for the preaching work, the faithful apostles show say they be real friends to Jesus. The kind of friends wey they be, na the one wey Bible talk about say: “One friend dey wey dey close pass brother.” (Prov. 18:24) Jesus value this kind friends. Among the brothers of Jesus, no one put faith for Jesus when e dey this earth. (John 7:3-5) Time even dey wey e family people feel say e don de mad. (Mark 3:21) But the faithful apostles no dey like that. No wonder Jesus fit talk about them for the night before e die, say: “Na wuna dey with me when I de face different-different problem.”​—Luke 22:28.

¹² Sometimes, the apostles no do wetin make Jesus happy. But they put their faith for Jesus, and e notice-am. So e no put mind for their mistakes. (Matt. 26:40; Mark 10:13, 14; John 6:66-69) For the last night wey Jesus dey with them before e die, Jesus tell this men wey always dey e side say: “l call wuna my friends because l don tell wuna everything wey I hear from my Father.” (John 15:15) True-true, Jesus receive plenty encouragement from e friends. ¹³ Apart from the apostles, Jesus get other friends, both men and women. They  help Jesus for the preaching work and for other fine ways. Some of them invite Jesus come their house so that e go get place to chop. (Luke 10:38-42; John 12:1, 2) Other people travel with Jesus and help Jesus with their property. (Luke 8:3) Jesus get good friends because e be good friend to them. E do good things for them and e no expect them to do things wey pass their power. Even though say Jesus dey perfect and e friends no dey perfect, e still value the support from them. And we dey sure say they help Jesus make e continue to get peace of mind.

14-15. How we fit make good friends, and how they fit help us?

¹⁴ Good friends go help us hold Jehovah tight. And the best way to make good friends na for person to be good friend. (Matt. 7:12) For example, Bible encourage us say make we use our time and power to help other people, especially when they need help. (Eph. 4:28) You fit think of any person for your congregation wey you fit help? You fit go buy something for person for your congregation wey no fit comot from house because of old age or sickness? When we dey busy de help other people, na that time we get more chance to dey happy.​—Acts 20:35.

¹⁵ Our friends go support us when we de face problems, and they go help us continue to get peace of mind. They go help  us just as Elihu help Job when e listen as Job de talk about e problem. And na so our friends go listen and dey patient with us when we de tell them how we de feel. (Job 32:4) Make we no expect our friends to decide for us. But we go show say we get sense if we listen to their advice from Bible. (Prov. 15:22) And just as King David accept help from e friends, make we no dey too proud to accept help from our friends when we need help. (2 Sam. 17:27-29) True-true, this kind good friends na gift from Jehovah.​—Jas. 1:17.

16. According to Philippians 4:6, 7, wetin be the only way wey we fit get peace? Explain.

¹⁶ Read Philippians 4:6, 7. Why Jehovah tell us say na “through Jesus Christ” we fit get the peace wey e de give? Na because we fit continue to get peace of mind and heart only if we understand and get faith for the things wey Jesus de do for Jehovah’s arrangement. For example, God go fit forgive all our sins because of the ransom sacrifice of Jesus. (1 John 2:12) When we think about this one, e de comfort us! As King of God’s Kingdom, Jesus go remove any problem wey Satan and this world fit don cause for us. (Isa. 65:17; 1 John 3:8; Rev. 21:3, 4) This one de give us better hope for future! And even though say the work wey Jesus give us no dey easy, e dey with us, and e go support us throughout the last days of this world. (Matt. 28:19, 20) This one de give us strong heart! Comfort, hope, and strong heart na really important things wey we need to get peace of mind.

Number two, obey Jehovah and preach with all your heart even when e no easy for you. And number three, trust your friends to help you face the problems.
