This one happen for 1910. Because of this one, Catholic Church no get the power wey they first get. Na true say wetin happen make the people for the country get freedom pass before, but trouble still continue.

The secretary of the British and Foreign Bible Society warn Brother Young say e go face plenty trouble. Even with that one, Brother Young ask for permit to use the hall wey them de do sports for Camões Secondary School. And e get the permit!

The day wey Brother Rutherford go give the talk come reach. That day na May 13. People really want know wetin e want talk! Posters for building and newspaper advertise the talk wey the topic na “How to Live on the Earth Forever.” People for other religion de give us trouble. So they print one topic for their newspaper quick-quick. They warn people about us say “fake prophets” don come. For front of the place wey them de pass enter the hall, this people share plenty brochure. This brochures condemn the things wey Brother Rutherford de teach.

Even with that one, about 2,000 people pack enter the hall. And about 2,000 people no fit enter because space no dey. Some people wey they want listen climb rope-ladder for the side of the hall. Other people stay ontop of the things wey them de use do exercise.

That day, the people wey them de give us trouble begin make noise and break the chairs. But Brother Rutherford no shake. E sofri climb table so that people go hear wetin e de talk. Midnight almost reach before e finish. After e finish, e pass 1,200 people wey they write their name and address so that they fit de receive our books. E no pass the next day wey one newspaper carry news about the talk wey Brother Rutherford give. The name of the newspaper na O Século.

For September 1925, we begin print Watch Tower for Portuguese language for Portugal. (Before this time, we don already print one Portuguese-language Watch Tower for Brazil.) Around that time, Brother Virgílio Ferguson begin make plan to pack go Portugal so that e fit support the preaching work for there. Na Brazil e dey before. Before this time, e don work with Brother Young for our small branch office wey e dey Brazil. Small time, Brother Ferguson and e wife Lizzie, travel go join Brother Young. Military people put their own government and so nobody dey free to talk for Portugal again. This one make them begin give us trouble more-more. But Brother Ferguson no fear. And e do things to protect the small group of Bible Students and push the work go front. E ask for permit so that they fit use e house de do meeting. And e get the permit for October 1927.

For the first year wey nobody dey free to talk because of the kind government, about 450 people for Portugal talk say they want de receive Watch Tower. Another thing be say, the truth reach far place for the areas wey Portugal de control like, Angola, Azores, Cape Verde, East Timor, Goa, Madeira, and Mozambique.

For the year 1929, one man wey e name na Manuel da Silva Jordão, travel go Lisbon. This man come from Portugal, and e de work as gardener. For that one to work, Manuel begin serve as colporteur. Na so them de call pioneer that time. This time, the way them de print and distribute our books come arrange well. This one help the new congregation for Lisbon grow.

For 1934, Brother and Sister Ferguson go back to Brazil. But people for Portugal don begin hear the good news. Trouble dey Europe that time because of the Spanish Civil War and World War II. Even with this one, the brothers for Portugal try their best make they no leave Jehovah. E first be like say they no go do well. But when Brother John Cooke go there for 1947, things change. Na e be the first Gilead missionary for the place. After that one, the number of Jehovah Witness just de grow. Even when the government stop our work for there for 1962, we no stop to grow. For December 1974, they allow us continue with our work. And that time, e even pass 13,000 publishers for that country.

Some of this publishers come from the family of some people wey they listen to the talk wey Brother Rutherford give for 1925.

The brothers and sisters wey they work hard to preach for this place really get strong heart. We thank Jehovah and we thank them for wetin they do.
