1-2. Why we de go Memorial every year?

 NA ALMOST 2,000 years now since Jesus die for us and give us the hope say we go fit get life wey no go end. For the night wey Jesus die, e command e disciples say make them de use bread wey no get yeast and wine do the Memorial of e death.—1 Cor. 11:23-26.

² We de obey this command wey Jesus give us because we really love-am. (John 14:15) Every year, for Memorial time, we de take time think and pray about wetin we de gain as Jesus die for us. This one de show say we really value Jesus sacrifice. We still de happy to use more time preach to people and invite them to join us remember this special day. And as we de invite other people, we want make sure say nothing go stop us make we no attend the Memorial.

3. Wetin we go talk about for this article?

³ For this article, we go talk about three ways wey Jehovah people don do their best to make sure say them continue to remember Jesus death. (1) Them de do the Memorial the way Jesus do-am, (2) them de invite people to come join them do Memorial, and (3) them de do the Memorial no matter how their condition bad reach.

4. Wetin we de learn for Memorial every year, and why we no suppose take-am play? (Luke 22:19, 20)

⁴ Every year for Memorial, we de listen to Memorial talk wey we de use answer plenty questions. For the talk, we de learn why we need person to die for us and why the death of one person go fit pay for the sin of plenty people. We still de learn wetin the bread and the wine stand for and who suppose chop the bread and drink the wine. (Read Luke 22:19, 20.) And we still dey learn about the blessing wey God don arrange for people wey get the hope to live for this earth forever. (Isa. 35:5, 6; 65:17, 21-23) We no suppose take all this things wey we de learn play! Because billions of people for this world no know all this things and they no know how the sacrifice of Jesus dey important reach. Another thing be say them no de remember Jesus death the way e command say make e disciples de do-am. Why?

5. After most of Jesus apostles die, wetin happen to the example wey Jesus set about how to remember e death?

⁵ Small time after most of Jesus apostles die, lie-lie Christians start to join the congregation. (Matt. 13:24-27, 37-39) Them start to bend the truth, to make people “follow them” instead of the congregation. (Acts 20:29, 30) One way this lie-lie Christians start to “bend the truth” be say they start to teach say no be only one time Jesus sacrifice e life to pay for the sin of plenty people. As them talk like this, them mean say wetin Bible talk no correct, but say Jesus sacrifice must happen plenty times. (Heb. 9:27, 28) Today, plenty people believe this lie wey them de teach. Them de always gather for their church, sometimes everyday to do wetin them de call “Holy Communion.” b And some church no de do-am every time, but they no really understand why Jesus die and how we de gain from e sacrifice. This one de confuse some of them and them de ask say, ‘As Jesus die, e mean say God go fit forgive my sin?’ Why them de ask this question? E fit be say na because people don teach them say no be the sacrifice of Jesus de make God forgive our sin. How Jehovah servants de help people like this know the value of Jesus sacrifice and the correct way to remember the death of Jesus?

6. By 1872, which important truth “Bible Students” learn?

⁶ For the year 1870, one group of people wey de study Bible, start to do research and study more-more about wetin Bible really teach. Na Brother Charles Taze Russell be their leader. They want know the truth about Jesus sacrifice and the correct way to remember the death of Jesus. By 1872, them don learn say Jesus die to pay for our sin. When them learn this important truth, them hide-am? No! Them start to teach plenty people about-am. Them use books, newspaper, and magazine spread the message. And small time, them start to gather, once every year to do Memorial just the way Christians for apostles time do-am.

7. How we de gain from the research wey the “Bible Students” do?

⁷ Today, we de really gain from the research wey the brothers do many years ago. How? Jehovah don open our eye to see the  truth about Jesus sacrifice and wetin we de gain from that sacrifice. (1 John 2:1, 2) We don still learn say na two group of people dey, wey get two different hope. Some go get life wey no de ever die for heaven and the rest go live forever for this earth. When we think about how Jehovah love us reach and all the things wey we de gain from Jesus sacrifice, e de make us love Jehovah more-more. (1 Pet. 3:18; 1 John 4:⁠9) So like our brothers and sisters for olden days, we de invite people to Memorial and we de do-am just the way Jesus do-am.

8. Wetin Jehovah servants don do to fit invite people come Memorial? (Check the picture.)

⁸ For many-many years before now, Jehovah servants don de invite people to Memorial. For 1881, our organization use Watchtower invite brothers and sisters for United States to one brother house wey dey Allegheny, for Pennsylvania so that they go do Memorial for there. Later, each congregation start to do the Memorial by theirself. For March 1940, our organization talk say publishers fit invite anybody for their territory wey go like come Memorial. For 1960, our organization start to print invitation wey congregation go use invite people to Memorial. Since that time, we don give billions of Memorial invitation to people. Why we de do all this things and spend time to invite people to Memorial?

9-10. Which people we still de invite come Memorial? (John 3:⁠16)

⁹ One reason why we de invite people to Memorial na because we want make people wey come for the first time learn the truth  about wetin Jehovah and Jesus don do for us. (Read John 3:16.) We hope say wetin them see and learn for the Memorial go move them to want learn more about Jehovah and become e servant. But no be only new people de gain from Memorial talk.

¹⁰ We still de invite inactive publishers. We de invite them to remind them say Jehovah still love them. And many of them de come when we invite them, this one de really make us happy. When they attend Memorial, e de help them remember how them de enjoy to worship Jehovah with brothers and sisters before them become inactive. See the example of Sister Monica. c Na coronavirus time e begin preach again. After e attend Memorial for 2021, e talk say: “Memorial really dey special to me. After 20 years, this na the first time wey I don preach to people again and invite them for Memorial. I do everything wey I fit so that I go attend the Memorial because I really happy for wetin Jehovah and Jesus don do for me.” (Ps. 103:1-4) Whether people wey we invite go come Memorial or them no go come, we still de do our best to invite them because we know say this one de make Jehovah happy.

11. How Jehovah bless us as we de do our best to invite people for Memorial? (Haggai 2:⁠7)

¹¹ Jehovah don really bless us as we de do our best to invite people to Memorial. For 2021, even though say we no fit gather together to do Memorial because of coronavirus, we be 21,367,603 people wey do Memorial. This one na almost two and half times the number of Jehovah Witness People for the whole world. Na true say no be number Jehovah de look, but e really de see everybody wey attend Memorial, one by one. (Luke 15:7; 1 Tim. 2:3, 4) And we really believe say Jehovah de help us use Memorial invitation find people wey want worship-am.—Read Haggai 2:⁠7.

12. Wetin fit make-am hard for us to do Memorial? (Check the picture.)

¹² Jesus don talk-am say for this last days, we go de face different-different problem. Some of them na war, serious sickness, problem from family, and suffer from other people because we de worship Jehovah, and plenty other problem. (Matt. 10:36; Mark 13:9; Luke 21:10, 11) When we de face problem like this, e fit make-am hard for us to do Memorial. Wetin our brothers and sisters don do to fit do Memorial even with all this kind problem and how Jehovah don help them?

13. How Jehovah bless Brother Artem as e do e best to do Memorial for prison?

¹³ When them put us for prison. Our brothers wey dey prison because them de worship Jehovah, de do their best to do Memorial. See the example of Brother Artem. For 2020, government put Brother Artem for prison for Memorial time. Na only four or five person fit stay for the prison cell wey them put the brother. Even with this one, Brother Artem still do e best to get Memorial bread and wine and plan to give the Memorial talk for e self. The other prisoners for the cell de smoke and talk bad-bad things every time. Wetin our brother do? E beg them say make them no smoke and talk bad things for only one hour. E really surprise our brother say the prisoners no  smoke and talk bad things for the one hour wey e use do the Memorial. Brother Artem talk say: “I tell them say I go like tell them about Memorial.” Even though say them talk say them no want hear anything about Memorial before, after them don see how e do the Memorial, them start to ask Brother Artem plenty questions.

14. Wetin Jehovah people do to make sure say coronavirus no stop them to do Memorial?

¹⁴ Coronavirus. When coronavirus start, Jehovah people no fit gather together to do Memorial. But that one no stop us make we no do Memorial. d Some congregation use Internet do the Memorial. But what about plenty brothers and sisters and other people wey no get Internet? For some country, branch office arrange say make them show the Memorial for television channel or give the talk for radio make people hear. Another thing be say, plenty branch record the Memorial talk for more than 500 language so that people wey dey far from town go fit do Memorial. And brothers do their  best to send the talk wey them record to the brothers wey need-am.

15. Wetin you learn from Sue example?

¹⁵ Problem from family. The biggest problem wey de make-am hard for some people to fit do Memorial, na problem from their family. See the example of one Bible student wey e name na Sue. For 2021, before Memorial day, Sue tell the sister wey de study Bible with-am say e no go fit attend Memorial because e family people dey against-am. So our sister read Luke 22:44 and explain to-am say when e get problem, make e pray to Jehovah and trust-am just the way Jesus de do when things hard for-am. The next day, Sue do Memorial bread, collect wine and watch the special Morning Worship for jw.org. And for evening that day, when Sue dey alone for e room, e use e phone connect to the Memorial. After, Sue write to our sister say: “You really make my mind strong yesterday. So I do everything wey I fit do to join the Memorial, and Jehovah really help me. I no go fit thank Jehovah finish!” You think say Jehovah go fit help you if your condition be like Sue own?

16. Why we dey sure say Jehovah go bless us if we do our best to attend Memorial? (Romans 8:31, 32)

¹⁶ E de really make Jehovah happy when we do our best to remember Jesus death. And e go bless us when we show say we really happy for wetin e do for us as e send e Son make e die for us. (Read Romans 8:31, 32.) So make we do everything wey we fit do to make sure say we attend Memorial this year. And make we still do our best to use more time preach for Memorial time.
