FOR Bible, we de read about faithful people “with feeling like us.” (Jas. 5:17) For example, we fit really understand the thing wey Paul talk for Romans 7:21-24 when e talk say: “When I want do correct thing, bad thing dey with me. . . . I sorry for myself!” When we de struggle with the sin for our body, and then we remember say person like Paul get this kind feeling, this one go give us comfort.

Paul still talk about other feelings wey e get. For Galatians 2:20, e talk say: “The Son of God . . . love me and sacrifice e life for me.” Paul really dey sure about this one. Na the same way we de feel too? Maybe no be everytime.

If we de feel useless because of sin wey we commit some time ago, e fit hard us to believe-am say Jehovah love us and say e don forgive us. And even to see the sacrifice of Jesus as gift for us fit really hard us. Na true say Jesus really want make we see e sacrifice as gift for us? If na yes be the answer, wetin fit help us to see-am like that? Make we talk about this two question.

The truth be say, Jesus want make you see e sacrifice as gift for you. Why we dey sure of this one? Imagine wetin happen for Luke 23:39-43. They hang one man for pole, near Jesus. The man agree say e do one bad thing some time ago. This thing fit really dey bad. Na so because na when criminal do very serious bad thing, them de hang the person for pole make e die. This thing de worry the man, then e beg Jesus say: “Remember me when you reach your Kingdom.”

Wetin Jesus do? Imagine the pain wey Jesus feel when e turn e head and look the criminal. Even with the pain, Jesus go don smile and comfort the man. E tell the man say: “True-true I de tell you today say, you go dey with me for Paradise.” Jesus for just remind the man say “the Son of man . . . come to serve people and to give e life as sacrifice to buy many people back.” (Matt. 20:28) But no be the thing wey Jesus do be that. Instead, with good-heart, Jesus make the man know say e go benefit from the sacrifice. Jesus use fine way talk to the man when e use the word “you” and “me.” E tell the man say e go live for paradise for this earth.

True-true, Jesus want make the man see the sacrifice as gift wey e go benefit from. This man na criminal and e never get the opportunity to serve God before. Even with that one, Jesus get that kind feeling for the man. So, we dey sure say when person don baptize and de serve God, Jesus go feel like that too. Wetin fit help you believe say the sacrifice of Jesus go fit benefit you, even if you don commit sins before?

The work of God wey Paul de do affect the way e see the sacrifice of Jesus. How? Paul explain say: “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, because e see me as faithful person and so e give me work to do; and e don give me power, even though say, before-before, I de talk bad about God, I de suffer servants of God, and I no get respect for anybody. But  God show me pity because I no know wetin I de do that time, and I no get faith.” (1 Tim. 1:12-14) Jesus get pity, love and trust for Paul. But, why Paul fit dey sure of this one about e self, even with the bad things wey e don do before? Na because of the work wey Jesus give Paul. For the same way, Jesus don still give each of us work to do, and this work na to preach the good news. (Matt. 28:19, 20) This work go fit still make you understand say Jesus die for you?

One man dey wey e name na Albert. They disfellowship Albert for almost 34 years, and long time never pass wey e come back. E talk say: “I no fit forget the bad things wey I don do before. But when I dey preaching, I de feel like apostle Paul. I de feel say Jesus don give me the preaching work make I do. This one de make me glad more-more. Now, the way I de think about myself, my life, and my future, don better pass before.”​—Ps. 51:3.

Allan na another example. Before e learn the truth, e de commit plenty bad things and e de cause plenty trouble. E talk say: “I still de think about all the problem wey I don cause for people. Sometimes, I de really feel sad. But I thank Jehovah say e allow sinner like me to carry good news go de give people. When I see the way people de accept the good news, this one de remind me say Jehovah really dey good and e love people. Some people don do bad things like me, so I feel say God de use me to help this kind people.”

Our preaching work de help us to do good things and think about good things. E de comfort us and e de make us dey sure say Jesus de show us pity and love, and e trust us.

Until the time wey God go destroy this wicked world wey Satan de control, our heart fit continue to condemn us because of the bad things wey we be do. Wetin go fit help us fight that kind feeling?

Make we use the example of Jean. Many times, this sister still de feel very sad about the kind life wey e live when e dey young. That time, e de behave well when e dey around brothers and sisters. But when e dey around other people, e de do bad things. Jean talk say: “I really like-am say ‘God big pass our heart.’” (1 John 3:19, 20) Like Jean, we fit get comfort to know say Jehovah and Jesus understand our condition pass the way we understand-am. They know say we be sinners. Remember say, the sacrifice of Jesus no be for perfect people, but na for sinners when they repent. And no forget say, Jehovah and Jesus provide the ransom sacrifice because of the love wey they get for us.​—1 Tim. 1:15.

When we de pray and think deep about the way Jesus treat people wey sin dey their body and when we do our best for the preaching work wey Jesus don give us, then we go fit believe for our heart say the sacrifice na for us. When you do like that, like Paul, you go fit talk say: Jesus “love me and sacrifice e life for me.”
