Dey Sure Say Wetin You Believe Na the Truth
“Continue to do the things wey you don learn and wey they make you believe.”—2 TIM. 3:14.
SONG 56 Choose to Serve Jehovah
WETIN WE GO LEARN *
1. Wetin we mean when we use the word “the truth”?
“HOW you learn the truth?” “Na for inside truth they born you?” “How many years you don dey for truth?” People fit don ask you this kind questions before. Or e fit be say you don ask other people this kind question. Wetin we mean when we use the word “the truth”? We de use-am when we de talk about wetin we believe, the way we de worship God, and how we de live our life. People wey dey “inside the truth” know the things wey Bible de teach, and them de follow this things. This one de make them dey free from the things wey lie-lie religion de teach and them de enjoy better life now even as sin still dey our body.—John 8:32.
2. As John 13:34, 35 talk, wetin be the first thing wey people de see and de draw them to the truth?
2 Wetin be the first thing wey draw you to the truth? E fit be say na the fine way wey servants of Jehovah de behave. (1 Pet. 2:12) Or e fit be say na the love wey them de show to other people. Plenty people see that love when they go Kingdom Hall for the first time, and this love touch them even pass anything wey they hear for meeting. This one no surprise us because Jesus don talk-am say na love go make people know who the disciples of Jesus really be. (Read John 13:34, 35.) But for us to get strong faith, we need to do some things.
3. Wetin fit happen if we get faith for God just because of the love wey our brothers and sisters de show?
3 No be just the love wey Christians de show go make us get faith. Why? What if our Christian brother or sister, maybe elder or pioneer commit serious sin? Or what if one brother or sister do wetin make you vex? Or maybe person Rom. 12:2.
decide say e no go serve Jehovah again and start to talk say we no get the truth. If this kind thing happen, e go make you fall and stop to serve Jehovah? Wetin be the lesson? If you get faith for God just because of wetin other people do, instead of your friendship with Jehovah, your faith no go dey strong. The way you feel about Jehovah and e people fit help you get faith. But to get strong faith, you need to study Bible well, understand wetin you de learn and do research so that you go dey sure say wetin you de learn about Jehovah na the truth. You need to dey sure say wetin Bible de teach na the truth about Jehovah.—4. As Matthew 13:3-6, 20, 21 talk, wetin de happen to the faith of some people when they face temptation?
4 Jesus talk say some people go accept the truth “with joy” but their faith go die when temptation come. (Read Matthew 13:3-6, 20, 21.) E fit be say they no understand say disciples of Jesus go face problems. (Matt. 16:24) Or maybe them de think say to be Christian mean say they no go ever face any problem or say God go remove their problems. But for this world today, problems go dey. Some things fit change for our life and this one fit make us stop to get joy.—Ps. 6:6; Eccl. 9:11.
5. Wetin de show say plenty brothers and sisters dey sure say they get the truth?
5 Plenty brothers and sisters don show say them dey sure say they get the truth. Why we talk like that? They no de shake for wetin they believe even if brother or sister make them vex or do wetin Jehovah hate. (Ps. 119:165) Everytime wey they get problem, the problem de make their faith strong no be to make-am weak. (Jas. 1:2-4) How you fit get that kind strong faith?
LEARN “THE CORRECT TRUTH ABOUT GOD”
6. How the Christians for the time of the apostles make their faith strong?
6 Christians for the time of the apostles use the things wey they learn from the Word of God and “the truth of the good news” wey Jesus teach to make their faith strong. (Gal. 2:5) The truth na all the things wey we believe as Christians, like the truth about the death and resurrection of Jesus. Apostle Paul dey sure say this things na true. Why Paul dey sure? Because e use the Word of God “prove-am say e dey important for Jesus to suffer and resurrect.” (Acts 17:2, 3) This disciples accept the truth of the good news and allow holy spirit to help them understand the Word of God. They do research to make sure say this things wey them de learn na from the Word of God. (Acts 17:11, 12; Heb. 5:14) No be only how they feel about Jehovah and e people make their faith strong. And they no serve Jehovah just because they feel happy when them dey with their brothers and sisters. Instead, na “the correct truth about God” wey they learn make their faith strong.—Col. 1:9, 10.
7. If we get faith for the truth wey Bible de teach, how e go help us?
7 The truth for Bible no de change. (Ps. 119:160) For example the truth no de change if our Christian brother or sister make us vex or commit serious sin. And the truth no de change when we face problems. So we need to really know wetin Bible de teach well and dey sure say na the truth. If we get strong faith for wetin Bible de teach, we go continue to hold Jehovah tight when we de face problems. Wetin you fit do to really dey sure say wetin you de learn na the truth?
DO SOMETHING TO DEY SURE OF WETIN YOU BELIEVE
8. As e dey for 2 Timothy 3:14, 15, wetin Timothy do to dey sure say wetin e believe na the truth?
8 Timothy really dey sure say e get the truth. How Timothy know this one? (Read 2 Timothy 3:14, 15.) Na e mama and e grand-mama be the first people to teach Timothy the “holy things wey them write.” But we know say Timothy too take time to study this “holy things wey them write.” This one “make [Timothy] believe” say the things wey e de learn na the truth. After, Timothy, e mama, and e grand-mama learn about the things wey Jesus Christ teach. The love wey Timothy see among brothers and sisters really touch Timothy for heart. E really like to dey with brothers and sisters and still help them. (Phil. 2:19, 20) But, no be the love wey e get for people make e faith strong, instead, na the things wey Timothy learn from Bible make Timothy dey sure say wetin e de learn na the truth and this one move Timothy to near Jehovah more-more. You too must study the Bible and really dey sure say the things wey Bible de teach about Jehovah na the truth.
9. Wetin be the three important truths wey you need to dey sure of?
9 To start, you go need to dey sure of this three important truths. Number one, you need to dey sure say na Jehovah make everything. (Ex. 3:14, 15; Heb. 3:4; Rev. 4:11) Number two, you must know the reason why you dey sure say Bible na message from God to people. (2 Tim. 3:16, 17) And number three, you need to dey sure say Jehovah get organization, and say na Jesus de direct the people for this organization as them de worship Jehovah and this people na Jehovah Witness. (Isa. 43:10-12; John 14:6; Acts 15:14) To dey sure of this main truth no mean say person must know everything about Bible. Wetin go dey your mind na to think deep about wetin you de learn so that you go really dey sure say na the truth.—Rom. 12:1.
DEY READY TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE TO DEY SURE OF THE TRUTH
10. As we don know the truth, which other thing we go need to do?
10 If you don already dey sure say the things wey you learn about God, the Bible and servants of God na true, you go need to use Bible prove this truths to other people. Why? Because as Christians, we get the work to teach people the truths wey we don learn. * (1 Tim. 4:16) And when we help other people to believe wetin Bible de teach, we de make our faith for this truth strong.
11. Wetin we learn from the way apostle Paul teach people?
11 When apostle Paul de teach people, “e be use the Law of Moses and the things wey the prophets write help them to believe about Jesus.” (Acts 28:23) How we fit follow the example of Paul when we de teach other people the truth? We no go only tell them wetin Bible talk. We go do more. We need to help our Bible students make they study and think deep about the things wey them de learn from Bible as them de come near Jehovah. We no want make they accept the truth because they respect us, but make they do-am because they don study and see for theirself say the things wey them de learn about God na true.
12-13. How papa and mama fit help their pikin them to remain for the truth?
12 Papa and mama, we know wuna want make wuna pikin them remain for the truth. Wuna fit de think say if they get good friends for inside congregation their faith go dey strong. But if you want make your pikin them dey sure say wetin Bible de teach na the truth, they need to do something, no be just to get good friends. They need to make Jehovah their own friend and dey sure say wetin Bible de teach na the truth.
13 If papa and mama want make their pikin learn the truth about God, they must show good example. They go be better student of Bible. They go find time to think deep about wetin they learn. Then they go fit teach their pikin them to be good student of Bible. They go need to teach their pikin them to use things to do research just the way them de teach their Bible students. If papa and mama do like that, they go help their pikin them to love Jehovah and trust say e de use “the faithful and discreet slave” to help us understand Bible. (Matt. 24:45-47) Papa and mama, no be just the simple-simple truth from Bible you go de teach your pikin them. Help them to get strong faith for God as you de teach them “the deep things of God” as their age and brain fit carry.—1 Cor. 2:10.
STUDY THE THINGS WEY BIBLE DON TALK SAY GO HAPPEN
14. Why e good make we study the things wey Bible don talk say go happen? (Still check the box “ You Fit Explain This Things Wey Bible Don Talk?”)
14 The things wey Bible talk say go happen na important part of the Word of God and them de help us to make our faith for Jehovah strong. Which one among this things wey Bible don talk don really make your faith strong? You fit talk say na the things wey Bible talk about the “last days.” (2 Tim. 3:1-5; Matt. 24:3, 7) But which other thing Bible don talk and e happen fit make your faith strong? For example, the things wey Daniel chapter 2 and Daniel chapter 11 talk don happen for past and still de happen. You fit explain any of them? * When you get strong faith for wetin Bible de teach, that kind faith no go shake. Think about the example of our brothers for Germany, they really suffer for the time of second world war. Even though say they no really understand the things wey Bible talk about the last days, they still get strong faith for the Word of God.
15-17. How the things wey our brothers and sisters study for Bible make their faith strong when Nazi government de suffer them?
15 When Nazi government de rule for Germany, they put plenty of our brothers and sisters for prison. Hitler and one big officer wey e name na Heinrich Himmler hate Jehovah Witness people. One sister talk say, Himmler tell one group of our sisters for one prison camp say: “Your Jehovah fit de rule for heaven, but for this earth, na we de rule! We go show wuna who go fit continue to stay alive, whether na we or na wuna!” Wetin help this servants of Jehovah to remain faithful?
16 This Bible Students know say the Kingdom
of God don start to rule for 1914. So e no surprise them as them de suffer them. But they still dey sure say no government fit stop God to do the things wey e don promise. Hitler no fit stop true worship or form any government wey go dey strong pass the Kingdom of God. This our brothers and sisters know say one-day one-day, the government of Hitler go fall.17 Wetin our brothers and sisters believe happen. E no take long time, Nazi government fall, and Heinrich Himmler, that man wey talk say “for this earth, na we de rule,” start to run to save e life. As e de run, e meet Brother Lübke, wey e don see for prison before. With shame, Himmler ask Brother Lübke say: “Well, Bible Student, wetin go happen now?” Then Brother Lübke explain to Himmler say Jehovah Witness no ever doubt say Nazi government go fall and they go dey free. Even though say Himmler don get mouth before to talk plenty bad things about Jehovah Witness, but for this time, e no fit talk anything. After small time, e kill e self. Wetin we learn from this example? When we study Bible and the things wey Bible don talk say go happen, this one go make our faith and trust for God strong when we de face problems.—2 Pet. 1:19-21.
18. As John 6:67, 68 talk, why we need to get the “correct knowledge and deep sense” wey apostle Paul talk about?
18 We need to show love to prove say we be true Christians. But we still need the “correct knowledge and deep sense.” (Phil. 1:9) If we no get this correct knowledge and deep sense, some people wey don leave the truth fit fool us with lie-lie “teaching wey cunning-cunning and wicked plan dey inside.” (Eph. 4:14) Even when plenty disciples stop to follow Jesus for the time of the apostles, apostle Peter show say e trust Jesus when e talk say “your talk de give everlasting life.” (Read John 6:67, 68.) Even though say Peter no understand everything wey Jesus de talk that time, Peter no leave Jesus because e understand the truth about Christ. You too fit trust wetin Bible de teach. If you do this one, your faith go dey strong no matter wetin happen, and you go fit help other people to get strong faith.—2 John 1, 2.
