No Do Wetin Go Pain Your Brother

No Do Wetin Go Pain Your Brother

“Make wuna make sure say wuna no treat one of this small ones as nothing.”—MATT. 18:10.

SONG 113 The Peace Wey We Get

WETIN WE GO LEARN? *

1. Wetin Jehovah don do for each of us?

JEHOVAH don draw each of us come e side. (John 6:44) Think about wetin that one mean. As Jehovah sofri-sofri check the plenty people for this world, e see something wey e really like inside you. This thing na say your heart dey good and you fit love Jehovah. (1 Chron. 28:9) Jehovah know you, e understand you, and e love you. This one de really give us comfort!

2. How Jesus help us understand the way Jehovah de care for each of us?

2 Jehovah really care about you, and e still care about all your brothers and sisters for congregation. To help us understand this one, Jesus compare Jehovah to shepherd. If one sheep for inside 100 sheep lost, wetin the shepherd go do? The shepherd go “leave the remaining 99 sheep ontop mountain and go find the one wey lost.” When the shepherd see the sheep, e no go vex for the sheep. Instead, e go over glad. Wetin be the lesson? Each of us dey important to Jehovah. Jesus talk say: “My Father for heaven no go like-am make even one of this small ones die.”—Matt. 18:12-14.

3. Wetin we go talk about for this article?

3 We no go ever want do something wey go make our brothers or sisters dey sad. Wetin we fit do make we no do wetin go pain other people? And wetin we fit do if person do wetin vex us? We go answer this questions for this article. But make we first learn more about “this small ones” wey Matthew chapter 18 talk about.

WHO BE “THIS SMALL ONES”?

4. Who be “this small ones”?

4 “This small ones” na disciples of Jesus no matter their age. Whether they old or they young, all of them na “young children” because them dey ready to learn from Jesus. (Matt. 18:3) Even though say they come from different place, they get different culture, them de think for different way, and their character no be the same, all of them get faith for Jesus Christ. And Jesus love them no be small.—Matt. 18:6; John 1:12.

5. How Jehovah de feel when person do wetin go pain one of e servants?

5 Jehovah no de take all “this small ones” play at all. To understand how Jehovah de feel, make we think about how we de feel about children. We love children. We want protect them because they no strong, they never face things for life, and they no get the sense wey mature person get. We no de like-am when person do wetin go make another person suffer. But we de even vex more when person do wetin go make small pikin suffer. For the same way, Jehovah want protect us. E de even de vex when person do wetin go pain one of e servants!—Isa. 63:9; Mark 9:42.

6. As e dey for 1 Corinthians 1:26-29, how people for the world de see disciples of Jesus?

6 Which other way disciples of Jesus be like “small ones”? Think-am, which kind people the world de see as important people? Na rich people, popular people, and people for high position. But the world de see disciples of Jesus as “small ones” wey no dey important. (Read 1 Corinthians 1:26-29.) But Jehovah no de see them like that.

7. How Jehovah want make we feel about our brothers and sisters?

7 Jehovah love all e servants, whether they don de serve Jehovah for many years or them dey new. All our brothers and sisters dey important to Jehovah. So they suppose dey important to us too. We want “love brothers for the whole world,” no be just some of them. (1 Pet. 2:17) Make we dey ready to do everything wey we fit do to protect and care for them. If we see say we don do wetin make another person vex, make we no do like say nothing happen and think say the person must forgive us and forget about the matter. Why the thing wey we do fit vex some people? Maybe because of the way some brothers and sisters grow up, they feel say other people de see them as nothing. Other people dey new for the truth. They never understand say they must forgive person when the person make mistake. No matter the reason why something de vex us or other people, make we do everything wey we fit do to correct the situation. Another thing na say, if person de quick vex because of wetin other people do, make the person try change this kind character wey no good. The person need to do this one so that e go fit get peace of mind and better friendship with other brothers and sisters.

DE THINK SAY OTHER PEOPLE BETTER PASS YOU

8. Which way people for time of Jesus de think wey affect e disciples?

8 Wetin make Jesus talk about “small ones”? The disciples be don ask Jesus say: “Who really dey important pass for the Kingdom for heaven?” (Matt. 18:1) High position really dey important for many Jew people that time. One man wey don really study book talk say: “To get honor from other people and to dey popular na the number one important thing for people life.”

9. Wetin the disciples of Jesus need to do?

9 Jesus know say e disciples go need to work hard to change the way them de think. This one na so because plenty Jew people feel say e dey important for person to better pass other people. Jesus tell them say: “Make the person wey important pass among wuna be like the person wey young pass, and make the person wey de direct be like servant.” (Luke 22:26) We de show say we be “the youngest” when we “think say other people better pass” us. (Phil. 2:3) If we de get that kind mind, we no go too de make other people vex.

10. Which advice from Paul we suppose follow?

10 All our brothers and sisters better pass us for some ways. This one dey easy to understand when we de put our mind for their better character them. Make we follow the advice wey apostle Paul give Christians for Corinth, e say: “So wetin make you different from another person? Wetin you get wey them no give you? So if na give them give you, why you de boast like say no be give them give you?” (1 Cor. 4:7) We no go ever want make other people de praise us or de see us like say we better pass them. So if brother for congregation sabi give talk, or one sister really know how to start Bible study, make them de always praise Jehovah for this things wey they sabi do.

FORGIVE YOUR BROTHER ‘FROM YOUR HEART’

11. Wetin we learn from the story wey Jesus talk about one king and e slave?

11 Small time after Jesus warn e disciples make they no do wetin go vex other people, e talk one story about one king and e slave. The king talk say make the slave no pay one big money wey e de owe and wey e no fit ever pay back. After, that same slave no gree leave the small money wey e borrow another slave. At last, the king put this slave for prison as the slave no get pity. Wetin be the lesson? Jesus talk say: “Na so my Father for heaven go take deal with wuna if wuna no forgive wuna brother from wuna heart.”—Matt. 18:21-35.

12. If we no gree forgive, wetin this one fit cause?

12 The thing wey the slave do no only affect e own self, the thing affect other people too. Number one, the slave no dey kind and e no show pity for the other slave. E ‘put the other slave for prison until e fit pay wetin e de owe.’ Number two, when other slaves see wetin this slave do, they no dey happy at all. Bible talk say: “When the other slaves see wetin happen, this one really pain them.” For the same way, the things wey we de do de affect other people. If somebody do wetin pain us and we no gree forgive the person, wetin that one fit cause? Number one, we de cause the person pain as we no forgive the person, and maybe as we no get time for the person and show the person love. Number two, we de make other people for congregation de feel somehow when they see say we get problem with that person.

You go continue to vex or you go forgive from your heart? (Check paragraph 13-14) *

13. Wetin you learn from the thing wey happen to one pioneer?

13 When we forgive our brothers and sisters, we go gain and other people go gain too. This kind thing happen to one pioneer sister. Another sister for congregation do wetin vex this sister. This pioneer sister talk say: “Sometimes, the sister de talk harsh things and this one de cut me like knife. When we de go preach, I no even want make they put me and the sister for the same motor. I begin slow down for preaching work, and my joy start to go down.” This pioneer sister feel say e get good reason to vex. But e no continue to vex or de pity e self. E humble e self and e follow the advice for inside the article wey be “Forgive From Your Heart” for Watchtower of October 15, 1999. E forgive the other sister. E talk say: “Now I don see say, all of us de try our best to change, and Jehovah dey ready to forgive us everyday. My condition just be like say they carry one heavy load comot from my head. I don get joy again.”

14. As e dey for Matthew 18:21, 22, which problem e be like say apostle Peter get, and wetin you learn from the answer wey Jesus give?

14 We know say we suppose forgive people. And we know say na the correct thing to do. But we fit still struggle to do this one. Apostle Peter fit don feel like that sometimes. (Read Matthew 18:21, 22.) Wetin fit help us? Number one, think deep about how many times Jehovah don forgive you. (Matt. 18:32, 33) Jehovah no de forgive us because na our right, but na because e want do-am. (Ps. 103:8-10) For the same way, “we too, must love one another.” So, to forgive person no be whether we like-am or we no like-am. We must forgive our brothers and sisters. (1 John 4:11) Number two, think deep about wetin go happen when we forgive. We fit help the person wey do wetin pain us, congregation go dey as one, we go continue to be friend with Jehovah, and we go get peace of mind. (2 Cor. 2:7; Col. 3:14) And the last thing na say, make we pray to Jehovah, the Person wey tell us say make we de forgive. No allow Satan to scatter the peace wey you de enjoy with your brothers and sisters. (Eph. 4:26, 27) We need help from Jehovah if we no want enter the trap wey Satan set.

NO ALLOW THE THING WEY PERSON DO YOU CONTINUE TO WORRY YOU

15. With wetin dey Colossians 3:13, wetin we fit do if our brother or sister for congregation do wetin pain us?

15 What if the thing wey one brother or sister do really pain you? Wetin you suppose do? Do everything wey you fit do to make the peace wey wuna get continue. Tell Jehovah how you de feel. Tell Jehovah make e bless the person wey make you vex. And make e help you see the fine-fine character wey the person get, wey be the character them wey Jehovah love about this person. (Luke 6:28) If you no fit forget about the thing wey your brother do you, make you think about the best way wey you fit go talk to your brother. E dey fine to always think say the brother no get-am for mind to make you vex. (Matt. 5:23, 24; 1 Cor. 13:7) When you go talk to the brother, just take-am say the brother get good thing for mind for you. What if the person no want make peace? Make you “no tire to endure” the thing wey your brother do you. Dey patient with your brother. (Read Colossians 3: 13.) The number one thing be say, no continue to vex for your brother because this one fit spoil your friendship with Jehovah. No ever allow anything continue to worry you. As you continue de do like that, you de show say you love Jehovah pass any other thing.—Ps. 119:165.

16. Which work each of us get?

16 We de glad say we fit serve Jehovah with our brothers and sisters as “one group of sheep” under “one shepherd”! (John 10:16) The book wey be Organized to Do Jehovah’s Will, for page 165, talk say: “Because you de enjoy-am as congregation dey as one, you get the work to help congregation continue to dey as one.” So, we need to “train ourself to see our brothers and sisters as Jehovah de see them.” Jehovah de see all of us as “small ones” wey e really love. Na so you de see your brothers and sisters? Jehovah de see and de value everything wey you de do to help them and care for them.—Matt. 10:42.

17. Wetin we don decide to do?

17 We love our brothers and sisters. So if anything go be problem or go cause pain for our brother, we don decide say we no go do that thing. (Rom. 14:13) We get-am for mind say our brothers and sisters better pass us, and we want forgive them from our heart. Make we no allow the thing wey other people do, to pain us. Instead, make we decide say we go “de try our best to do the things wey go bring peace, and the things wey go encourage each other.”—Rom. 14:19.

SONG 130 De Forgive

^ par. 5 Because they born us with sin, some things wey we go talk or do fit cause pain for our brothers and sisters. When this kind thing happen, wetin we go do? We de try our best to make peace with our brother? We de quick talk sorry? Or we de think say if they vex, that one na their problem, e no concern us? Or the things wey other people talk and do de quick make us vex? We de talk say na so we be and so we no fit change? Or we de see say we need to change the way we de behave when people do wetin pain us?

^ par. 53 OTHER THINGS ABOUT THE PICTURE: One sister de vex for another sister for congregation. After the two of them don settle the matter by theirself, they forget about the matter and continue to serve Jehovah together with joy.
