SONG 70 Search Out Deserving Ones
WETIN WE GO LEARN? *
1. Wetin be one thing about the kind person wey Jesus be wey touch our heart pass any other thing? Explain.
BECAUSE we no dey perfect we de face some problems, and Jesus understand wetin we de face. This one na one thing about the kind person wey Jesus be wey touch us pass any other thing. That time wey Jesus dey this earth, e “happy with people wey de happy” and e “cry with people wey de cry.” (Rom. 12:15) For example, when the 70 disciples wey e send go preach come back with joy after they complete their preaching assignment, Bible talk say “the holy spirit come make Jesus over glad.” (Luke 10:17-21) For another time, Jesus see say people wey love Lazarus dey sad because Lazarus don die. This ‘thing really touch and worry Jesus.’—John 11:33.
2. Wetin help Jesus to show say e de feel for people?
2 Jesus dey perfect when e dey this earth. But e pity for people well-well and e want help them, even though say they no dey perfect. Wetin help Jesus? The number one thing na because e love people. As we see for the topic before this one, ‘the thing wey really make Jesus happy pass na the people’ wey dey the earth. (Prov. 8:31) E come really know the way people de think because e love people. Apostle John explain-am like this, say: “E know wetin dey inside the heart of human being.” (John 2:25) Jesus de feel for people well-well. People know say Jesus love them and they listen to the message about the Kingdom. The more we de feel for people like Jesus, the more we go fit help them well for our preaching work.—2 Tim. 4:5.
3-4. (a) If we de feel for people, which kind eye we go use look our preaching work? (b) Wetin we go talk about for this topic?
3 Like apostle Paul, we know say we suppose to de preach. 1 Cor. 9:16) But, the truth be say, if we de feel for people, we no go just de see the preaching work as wetin we suppose do. Instead, we go want show say we care about people and want help them. We know say “na when person give, e go dey happy pass when e receive.” (Acts 20:35) When we preach because we want help people, we go de enjoy preaching more-more.
(4 For this topic, we go learn how we fit show say we de feel for people wey we meet for our preaching work. We go first see wetin we go fit learn from the way Jesus feel about other people. Then, we go learn four ways wey we fit imitate e example.—1 Pet. 2:21.
JESUS SHOW SAY E DE FEEL FOR PEOPLE FOR E PREACHING WORK
5-6. (a) Which people Jesus show say e feel for? (b) Why Jesus feel pity for the people wey e preach to, according to wetin Isaiah 61:1, 2 talk say go happen?
5 Make we see one example of how Jesus show say e de feel for people. One time dey wey Jesus and the disciples tire well-well because they don de preach since and they never rest. They never even ‘get time to chop something.’ So Jesus and e disciples go “one quiet place wey only them go dey” to fit “rest small.” But even with that one, plenty people run go wait for the place wey Jesus and the disciples de go. When Jesus reach the place and see the crowd, how e feel and wetin e do? Bible talk say “e feel pity * for them, because they be like sheep wey no get shepherd. And e start to teach them many things.”—Mark 6:30-34.
6 Why Jesus pity for this people to show say e de feel for them? E notice say this people “be like sheep wey no get shepherd.” Maybe Jesus see say some of them dey poor and de work hard to provide for their family. And maybe other people dey sad because their person die. If na so e dey, then Jesus go don understand their condition. As we talk for the article before this one, Isaiah 61:1, 2.
e fit be say Jesus go don face some of this problems. Jesus care about people and e want comfort them.—Read7. How we fit imitate the example of Jesus?
7 Wetin we learn from the example of Jesus? Like Jesus, people around us “be like sheep wey no get shepherd.” Them de face many problem. But we get good news about the Kingdom, and na this message they need. (Rev. 14:6) So we go imitate our Master and we go preach the good news because we de “pity poor people” and people wey need help. (Ps. 72:13) We de feel pity for people, and we want do something to help them.
HOW WE GO FIT SHOW SAY WE DE FEEL FOR PEOPLE
8. Wetin be one way wey we fit show say we de feel for people wey we meet for our preaching work? Give one example.
8 Wetin fit help us show say we de feel for the people wey we de preach to? We need to imagine how the people de think and feel, and then treat them the way we go want make other people treat us if na we dey their condition. * (Matt. 7:12) Make we talk about four ways wey we fit do this one. Number one, think about wetin each person need. Our preaching work be like the work wey doctor de do to help person wey no well. Better doctor de think about wetin each sick person go need. E go ask questions and sofri listen as the sick person de talk about e condition or how e de feel. The doctor no go just give the person the first treatment wey come e mind. Instead, e fit take time watch wetin de happen to the sick person and then give the correct treatment. Na the same thing with us. We no suppose to begin discuss with everybody wey we meet for preaching with the same pattern. Instead, we go try to think about the condition of the person and the way e de see things.
9. Wetin we no go just begin think say we know? Explain.
9 When you meet person for preaching, make you no just begin think say you don already know the condition of the person or wetin e believe and why e believe-am. (Prov. 18:13) Instead, make you ask questions with sense to know something about the person and wetin e believe. (Prov. 20:5) If e dey okay for the area wey you dey, you fit ask about the person work, e family, things wey e don experience, and the way e de see things. When we ask questions, we de let the people tell us why they need the good news. And like Jesus, once we don know why, we fit show say we care about them and give them the help wey they need.—Compare 1 Corinthians 9:19-23.
10-11. According to 2 Corinthians 4:7, 8, which other way we fit show say we de feel for people? Give one example.
10 Number two, try to imagine how their 1 Cor. 10:13) We know say life for this world no easy at all. Na Jehovah de help person endure. (Read 2 Corinthians 4:7, 8.) But think about people for this world wey de struggle to survive and they no get tight friendship with Jehovah. So like Jesus, we want feel pity for them, and tell them “good news about better thing.”—Isa. 52:7.
life fit be. Somehow, we fit understand their condition. After all, they born all of us with sin and so we de face problems. (11 Make we talk about the example of one brother wey e name na Sergey. Before Sergey learn the truth, e de shame and e dey quiet. No be easy thing for Sergey to talk to other people. As time de go, e accept Bible study. E talk say: “As I de study Bible, I learn say Christians must tell other people about wetin they believe. The truth be say, I no believe say I go fit do-am.” But, Sergey think about people wey they never still hear the truth. E come imagine how life go really hard for this people because they no know Jehovah. Sergey talk say: “The new things wey I de learn that time make me happy well-well and I get peace of mind. I know say other people need to learn about this truth like me.” As Sergey begin feel for people more-more, e come see say e heart de strong more-more to go preach. E talk say: “I come surprise say the more I de talk to people about the Bible, the more the shame de disappear. And my faith begin strong more-more as I de tell people the new things wey I learn.” *
12-13. Why we need to dey patient with people wey we de teach for our preaching work? Give example.
12 Number three, dey patient with the people wey you de teach. No forget say, this people fit never think about some of the Bible truth wey we don already sabi well-well. And many of them really like the things wey they believe. They fit de feel say na their religion make them dey close to their family, their culture, and their community. How we fit help them?
13 Think about this example: Wetin de happen when they need to replace old bridge wey fit collapse? Many times, as them de construct new bridge, people go still de use the old one. Once the new bridge don ready, they fit scatter the old one. Na so e still be with people wey we de teach Bible. Before we tell them to abandon their “old” belief, we fit need to first help them know and love the “new” truth wey them de learn. Remember say, they no first know this things when we start to study with them. Na only when we don do this things, they go dey ready to abandon the old things wey they believe. To help people change like this fit take time.—14-15. How we fit help people wey they no too know about everlasting life for paradise earth, or wey they no even know about-am at all? Give one example.
14 If we dey patient with people for our preaching work, we no go expect them to understand or accept Bible truth the first time wey they hear-am. Instead, the pity wey we get for them go make us help them to sofri take time think about wetin Bible talk. For example, make we see how we fit reason with person about the hope wey people get to live forever for paradise earth. Plenty people no too know this teaching, or they no even know about-am at all. Maybe they believe say when person die, e no fit live again. Or, they fit de think say all good people de go heaven. How we fit help them?
15 One brother talk about how e de help people understand the hope wey we get to live for this earth forever. The brother de first read Genesis 1:28. Then, e go ask the householder which place and which kind life God want make human being live. Plenty people go answer say, “For earth, under good condition.” The brother go come read Isaiah 55:11 and ask the person whether God don change wetin E get for mind. Many times, the householder go answer no. For the end, the brother go read Psalm 37:10, 11 and ask the person how e think say human being future go be like. Na that way this brother don use Bible help different-different people understand say God still get-am for mind make good people live for this earth forever for Paradise.
16-17. With wetin dey for Proverbs 3:27, wetin be some things wey we fit do to show say we de feel for people? Give example.
16 Number four, think about wetin you fit do to show people say you care about them. For example, we visit the person for time wey e feel say no too dey okay? We fit tell the householder make e no vex, and let the person know when we go check again. What if the person de find who go fit assist with small work? Or what if the person no fit comot for house because of sickness or old age, but e need who go fit help buy something or go message? For this kind condition, we fit see wetin we fit do to help the person.—Read Proverbs 3:27.
17 One sister get better result after e do
something wey people fit no see as important thing. E know one family wey their pikin die. Because this sister de feel for the family, e write letter to them. The letter carry some Bible verses wey fit comfort person. How this thing wey the sister do affect the family? The woman wey her pikin die write say: “Yesterday wey my pikin die, e no easy for me at all. I no sure say you really know how your letter help us reach. I want thank you well-well for the letter, e really make our mind come down. I sure say I read your letter pass 20 times yesterday. The way the letter comfort us, encourage us, and show say you care about us, really surprise me. Na from our heart we de tell you thank you.” True-true, we de get better result when we try to understand wetin people de face, and then do something to help them.UNDERSTAND WETIN JEHOVAH WANT MAKE YOU DO
18. According to 1 Corinthians 3:6, 7, wetin e good make we put for mind about our work, and why?
18 The truth be say, na good thing if we know wetin Jehovah want make we do for our preaching work. We fit do some things wey go help people come learn about Jehovah, but no be we de do the part wey dey important pass. (Read 1 Corinthians 3:6, 7.) Na Jehovah de draw people come e side. (John 6:44) For the end, na the way each person be for heart go show whether e go accept the good news, or e no go accept-am. (Matt. 13:4-8) Remember say, even though say na Jesus sabi teach pass for the whole world, plenty people no accept e message. So, make we no tire if many people wey we de try to help no gree listen to our message.
19. Which better results we go get when we show say we de feel for people for our preaching work?
19 We go get better result when we show people for our preaching work say we de feel for them. We go enjoy our work more-more. We go see say na when we de give, we go de get more happiness. And we go make-am easy more for “people wey want learn the truth wey de give everlasting life” to accept the good news. (Acts 13:48) So as far as we get the chance, “make we do good things for everybody.” (Gal. 6:10) Then we go get the joy say we de bring praise to Jehovah, our Papa wey dey heaven.—Matt. 5:16.
SONG 64 Sharing Joyfully in the Harvest
^ par. 5 When we show people say we de feel for them, we de get more joy for the preaching work and people go ready to listen to our message more. Why e dey like that? For this article, we go talk about wetin we fit learn from the example of Jesus. We go still see four ways wey we fit show say we de feel for the people wey we meet for our preaching work.
^ par. 5 WORD WEY WE EXPLAIN: As e dey for Bible, pity mean to feel for person well-well when the person de suffer or when people no treat the person fine. When we get that kind feeling, e go move us to do everything wey we fit do to help people.
