JEHOVAH GOD hate any kind of wickedness. (Read Psalm 5:4-6.) E really hate sex abuse of children. This sex abuse de smell and na wicked sin! Because we be Jehovah Witness, we de imitate Jehovah and so we hate sex abuse of children. We no de allow this kind thing for congregation and we no de protect people when they do things about sex to pikin. We go do something quick-quick once we know about the matter.​—Rom. 12:9; Heb. 12:15, 16.

² Anything wey person do wey be child sex abuse dey against “the law of Christ”! (Gal. 6:2) Why we fit talk like that? As we don learn for the topic before this one, Jesus teach people with the things wey e talk and do, and na all this one be the law of Christ. The foundation of that law na love and the law de encourage people make they treat other people well without partial. True Christians de obey this law. Because of this one, the way we de treat children go make them know say we de protect them and we really love them. But sex abuse of pikin no dey right and if person do-am, e de only think about e self. Sex abuse de make pikin feel say e no de get protection and love from anybody.

³ The sad thing be say, child sex abuse na problem. This thing de affect the whole world, and e don even affect true Christians. Why? Na because “wicked people and pretenders” dey every corner. And some of them fit try to enter congregation. (2 Tim. 3:13) Another thing be say, some people for congregation talk say they be brother or sister, but they don allow their body push them to do things wey no dey normal and they put hand for sex  abuse of children. Make we talk about why sex abuse of children na wicked sin. Then we go talk about wetin elders de do when person for congregation commit serious sin, like sex abuse of children. We go still talk about how papa and mama go fit protect their children. *

4-5. Why child sex abuse na sin against the pikin?

⁴ Sex abuse de affect people for long time. E de affect the children for bad way and other people like, their family members and their Christian brothers and sisters. This people care about this children. Sex abuse of children na serious sin.

⁵ Na sin against the pikin. Na sin to make person feel pain and suffer wetin e no suppose suffer. We go see for the next topic say, na wetin de happen to the pikin be that. If big person do things about sex to pikin, e de make the pikin suffer different-different serious pain. With wetin e do, e don thief something from the pikin. The pikin believe say e get protection, but the big person don make the pikin lose that protection. We must protect children from that kind wicked thing, and this innocent children need our comfort and help.​—1 Thess. 5:14.

6-7. Why we talk say sex abuse na sin against congregation and government?

⁶ Na sin against the congregation. If person for congregation commit child sex abuse, the person de spoil the name of the congregation. (Matt. 5:16; 1 Pet. 2:12) That kind thing no good at all because millions of faithful brothers and sisters de “try [their] best to fight hard for the faith.” (Jude 3) We no de allow people to remain for congregation if they no repent from the wicked things wey they do, and if they spoil the good name of the congregation.

⁷ Na sin against government. Christians must “obey” government. (Rom. 13:1) We show say we de obey them when we respect and obey the laws for the land. If brother or sister for congregation break the law, like if e commit child sex abuse, the person don sin against government. (Compare Acts 25:8.) Elders no get the right to punish anybody wey break the law of the land. But, they no de protect any person make e no face punishment from government if e commit child sex abuse. (Rom. 13:4) The sinner go suffer the result of wetin e do.​—Gal. 6:7.

8. How Jehovah de see the sin wey person commit against another person?

⁸ The worse thing be say, na sin against God. (Ps. 51:4) When person sin against another person, na still sin against Jehovah. Think about one example from the Law wey God give the Israelites. The Law talk say if person thief from e neighbor or e deceive e neighbor, the person don do “bad thing against Jehovah.” (Lev. 6:2-4) So, true-true, if person for congregation commit child sex abuse, the person don do bad thing against God because e don deceive the pikin. The person don make the pikin lose the protection wey e get and the pikin no feel safe again. The brother or sister don really bring shame to the name of Jehovah. Because of this one, we must see child sex abuse as serious sin against God and we must condemn-am.

9. Which information from Bible Jehovah’s organization don de give elders about sex abuse of children, and why?

⁹ For years now, Jehovah’s organization  don write plenty things from Bible about sex abuse of children. For example, if person experience sex abuse, e de feel pain for heart and this pain fit last for long time. So some topics for Watchtower and Awake! don talk about wetin this kind person fit do about-am, how other people fit help and encourage the person, and how papa and mama fit protect their children. The organization don use Bible teach elders all the information wey they need to know about how they go handle the sin of sex abuse. As time de go, the organization de always check the training wey they don give the elders and they fit change-am sometimes. Why? Na to make sure say the elders follow the law of Christ when them de handle this kind matter.

10-12. (a) When elders find out say person commit serious sin, wetin they go put for mind, and wetin they go think about? (b) According to James 5:14, 15, wetin the elders de try to do?

¹⁰ When elders hear any matter of serious sin, they go remember say the law of Christ want make they treat the sheep with love and do the right thing without partial as God see-am. Because of this one, when they know say person don commit serious sin, they go sit-down think about different-different things. One thing wey dey important for elders pass anything, na to show respect for Jehovah’s name and protect-am make people no spoil-am. (Lev. 22:31, 32; Matt. 6:9) They go still think about other brothers and sisters for the congregation. They want help them continue to get good friendship with Jehovah and help any of them wey suffer from the serious sin.

¹¹ Another thing be say, if the sinner na person for congregation, the elders go try to find out whether e want really change. And if na so, they go help the person get good friendship with Jehovah again. (Read James 5:14, 15.) Any brother or sister be like sick person, if e commit serious sin to satisfy e body for the bad thing wey the body want. This one mean say the person no get good friendship with Jehovah again. * We fit talk say the elders be like doctors. They go try to make “the sick person [for this situation, the sinner] well.” They fit use Bible advice the person so that e go fit get good friendship with God again. But that one go only happen if the person really want repent.​—Acts 3:19; 2 Cor. 2:5-10.

¹² True-true, elders get big work. They really de care about the sheep wey God put for their hand. (1 Pet. 5:1-3) They want make their brothers and sisters know say they fit get protection for the congregation. Because of this one, they no de waste time to do something when they hear say person for congregation commit serious sin, like child sex abuse. Wetin they go do? 13-14. Elders go follow the laws of the land wey talk say make people tell government if they know about person wey commit child sex abuse? Explain.

 ¹³ If elders hear say person commit child sex abuse, they go report the matter to government people as the laws of the land talk? Yes. For some countries, their laws talk say make people report to government when they know say somebody fit don commit child sex abuse. Elders for this lands go try obey the laws. (Rom. 13:1) Those kind laws no dey against the law of God. (Acts 5:28, 29) So when elders hear report about sex abuse and e fit don happen, they go quick-quick tell branch office about-am. This one go help the elders fit find  out how they go follow wetin the laws of the land talk about how to report the matter.

¹⁴ Elders go tell the pikin, e papa and mama, and other people wey know about the matter say them dey free to report to government if they know say this kind thing fit don happen. But what if the sinner na brother or sister for congregation and the community come know about the matter? When person go report the matter, e suppose to feel bad say e don spoil the name of God because e report the matter? No. Instead, na who commit the sex abuse don spoil the name of God.

15-16. (a) According to 1 Timothy 5:19, why the elders need at least two people to prove say they see wetin happen before the elders fit form judicial committee? (b) Wetin elders de do when they hear say brother or sister for congregation commit child sex abuse?

 ¹⁵ For congregation, the elders need at least two people to prove say person commit serious sin and the two of them go don see wetin happen. Why? Na so because Bible talk say na the right thing to do be that. When they talk say person commit serious sin, but the person no gree say e do-am, before elders fit form judicial committee two people must prove-am and this people go don see wetin happen. (Deut. 19:15; Matt. 18:16; read 1 Timothy 5:19.) This one mean say before person go report to government about who fit don commit child sex abuse, two people need to first prove-am? No. Elders or other people no need two people to prove-am before they go report this kind matter to the government people for their area.

¹⁶ When elders find out say somebody for congregation fit don commit child sex abuse, they go try to follow wetin the laws of government talk about to report the matter. Then, they go try to find out wetin really happen and use Bible check the matter. If the person no gree say e commit the sin, then the elders go hear from people and this people go don see wetin happen. Make at least two people prove say the report na true, the person wey the report come from and any other person. If the other person prove say that sex abuse happen or any other one for other time, then the elders get enough reason to form judicial committee. * If second person no dey to prove say wetin happen na true, this one no mean say the report of the other person na lie. Even if two people no dey to prove wetin really happen, the elders know say serious sin of child sex abuse fit don happen and e go don really pain other people. The elders go continue to comfort and support anybody wey this pain don affect. Apart from that one, the elders go de watch well to protect the congregation from any danger wey fit come from the person wey they report say e commit child sex abuse.​—Acts 20:28.

17-18. Explain the work of the judicial committee.

 ¹⁷ Which work the judicial committee de do? If somebody report person say e commit child sex abuse, no be the elders de judge or decide whether people for government go punish this person as e break the law of the land. That one no be wetin the word “judicial” mean. The elders no de talk for wetin the law want do to this kind person, for the law wey e break. Them de leave this kind matter for government. (Rom. 13:2-4; Titus 3:1) But na the elders de judge, or decide, whether the person fit remain for congregation or e no fit remain.

¹⁸ When elders dey for judicial committee, their work for the committee na to judge only matter about the friendship wey person get with God and other worshippers. Na the Bible de guide them to fit judge whether who commit the child sex abuse want repent or e no want repent. The elders go disfellowship  the person if e no want repent, and they go announce-am for congregation. (1 Cor. 5:11-13) If e repent, e fit remain for the congregation. But, the elders go tell the person say e no go get any special work or assignment for congregation for many years, or maybe for the rest of e life. Because the elders really care about the protection of the children, they fit warn papa and mama for the congregation, one by one, say they need to dey careful when their children dey around that person. When the elders de warn them, the elders go dey careful make they no allow them know the people wey the pain of the sin don affect.

¹⁹ Who get the main work to protect children from danger? Na papa and mama. * Your children na “gift from Jehovah.” (Ps. 127:3) Jehovah don give you the work to protect your children. Wetin you fit do to protect your children from child sex abuse?

²⁰ Number one, learn about sex abuse. Find out which kind people de do things about sex to children and the ways them de use deceive children. Make you watch to see any danger. (Prov. 22:3; 24:3) Remember say many times, na person wey the pikin know and trust fit do this kind thing.

²¹ Number two, de talk well with your children. (Deut. 6:6, 7) This one still mean say you go sofri de listen to your children.
