1-2. Which things plenty servants of Jehovah de face?

APOSTLE Paul encourage Timothy and all of us today make we do our work for God well. (2 Tim. 4:5) So e good make all of us follow the advice wey Paul give. But sometimes, e de hard. Many of our brothers and sisters go really need strong heart to do the preaching work. (2 Tim. 4:2) For example, our brothers and sisters de live for lands wey they ban some part of our work or even all our work. They continue to preach even though say people fit arrest them and put them for prison!

² Servants of Jehovah de face different-different problem wey fit make them lose their joy. For example, plenty of them need to use plenty time work, just to provide wetin their family need. They like to do more for the preaching work, but na only small power remain when the week don end. Other brothers and sisters no de fit do plenty for the preaching work because of serious sickness or old age. And e fit be say they no de fit comot for their house. And other brothers and sisters de always feel say e no get anything wey Jehovah go use them do. One sister for Middle East wey e name na Mary, * talk say: “I de really work hard to control the way I de feel when I dey sad, sotey for the end I go over tire. Then I go begin feel bad because this one de take the time and power wey I suppose use for the preaching work.”

3. Wetin we go talk about for this article?

³ No matter the problem wey we de face, we fit continue to serve Jehovah as we fit because Jehovah go give us the power wey we need. Before we talk about how Jehovah fit help us, make we see how e give Paul and Timothy power  to do their preaching work even with problems.

4. Which problems Paul face?

⁴ Paul face plenty problem. When they beat, stone, and arrest Paul, e really need power that time. (2 Cor. 11:23-25) Paul talk say sometimes e de sorry for e self, and e de struggle to stop to feel like that. (Rom. 7:18, 19, 24) Paul still face problem wey e call “chuku-chuku for body,” and e really want make God remove-am.—2 Cor. 12:7, 8.

5. Wetin Paul fit do even with the problems wey e face?

⁵ Jehovah give Paul power to continue for the preaching work even with all the problem wey e face. Think about wetin Paul do for the work. For example, when they arrest Paul for house for Rome, e put all e heart for the preaching work. E preach to leaders for Jew people and maybe to government people too. (Acts 28:17; Phil. 4:21, 22) Paul still preach to plenty soldiers wey their work na to protect the king, and e preach to all e visitors. (Acts 28:30, 31; Phil. 1:13) For that time too, God use Paul to write letters and this letters help true Christians, even come reach our time. Apart from that one, the example wey Paul show make the congregation for Rome dey strong. And because of this one, the brothers show “strong heart” more when them de preach. They no fear. (Phil. 1:14) Even though say Paul no fit do as e for like to do, e still do e best. And this one “make the good news spread more and more.”—Phil. 1:12.

6. As e dey for 2 Corinthians 12:9, 10, wetin help Paul to do e preaching work well?

⁶ Na Jehovah give Paul power to do everything wey e do for E service, and Paul know this one. Paul talk say e get “complete power” from God when e dey “weak.” (Read 2 Corinthians 12:9, 10.) Na true say they suffer Paul, e go prison, and e face other problems. But, Jehovah use e holy spirit to give Paul the power wey e need to do e preaching work well.

⁷ Timothy wey be Paul young partner, trust say e go get power from God to do e preaching work. Timothy follow Paul  for different-different long journey to preach. Apart from that one, Paul send Timothy make e travel go other place them to visit and encourage congregations. (1 Cor. 4:17) Timothy fit don feel say e no go fit do the work. Maybe na this one make Paul tell Timothy say: “No allow anybody treat you anyhow because you young.” (1 Tim. 4:12) And for this time too, Timothy de always sick. (1 Tim. 5:23) But Timothy know say e go get the power wey e need from the holy spirit wey Jehovah de give, so that e go fit preach the good news and help e brothers.—2 Tim. 1:7.

8. How Jehovah de make e people dey strong today?

⁸ Today, we de serve Jehovah well because of the power wey e de give us. (2 Cor. 4:7) Make we talk about four things from Jehovah wey de give us power and de help us continue to dey faithful. This things na prayer, Bible, our brothers and sisters and our preaching work.

9. How prayer fit help us?

⁹ The power from prayer. As e dey for Ephesians 6:18, Paul encourage us make we de pray to God “all the time.” God go give us power to show say e answer our prayer. One brother for Bolivia wey e name na Jonnie get that kind support from Jehovah when e face different problems. E wife, e papa, and e mama get one serious sickness for the same time. Jonnie struggle to care for the three of them. E mama die, and long time pass before e wife and papa well again. Jonnie talk about that time say, “When I de face serious stress that time, wetin help me na to always pray to Jehovah about the thing wey the problem be.” Jehovah give Jonnie the power wey e need to endure. One elder for Bolivia wey e name na Ronald hear say e mama get cancer. E mama die after one month. Wetin help this brother for that hard time? E talk say: “When I de pray, I de tell Jehovah everything wey dey my heart. I know say Jehovah understand me pass the way anybody understand me. E even understand me pass the way I understand myself.” Sometimes, we fit feel say our problem don pass our power and we fit no know the things wey we suppose pray about. But Jehovah want make we pray even if we no fit explain the way we de feel.—Rom. 8:26, 27.

10. As e dey for Hebrews 4:12, why e really dey important to read Bible and think deep about wetin we read?

¹⁰ The power from Bible. Paul trust say e fit get power and comfort from Bible. So we fit get the same trust too. (Rom. 15:4) As we de read Bible and de think deep about wetin we read, Jehovah fit use e spirit help us to really understand how the thing wey we de read concern our situation. (Read Hebrews 4:12.) Brother Ronald wey we talk about before talk say: “I de try to read Bible every night. I de really think deep about the fine-fine character wey Jehovah get and the love wey e show e servants. This one de help me to get power again.”

11. How Bible give power to one sister wey e husband die?

¹¹ When we de think deep about wetin we read for Bible, this one de help us to think about our problem for correct way. Think about how Bible help one sister wey e husband die. One elder tell the sister say if e read the book of Job, e fit learn better  things. When the sister read-am, e first feel say the way Job de think no good. For e mind, e warn Job say: “Job! No de only think about your problem!” But this sister come see say the way e de think, na even the same way Job be de think. This one help the sister to change the way e de think, and e give the sister power to endure the pain wey e get as e husband die.

12. How Jehovah de use our brothers and sisters to make us strong?

¹² Power from our brothers and sisters. Another way wey Jehovah de give us power na to use our brothers and sisters for congregation. Paul talk say e really want see e Christian brothers and sisters, so that they go “fit encourage each other.” (Rom. 1:11, 12) Mary wey we don talk about before, de like to dey around brothers and sisters. E talk say: “Jehovah don use brothers and sisters wey no even know the problems wey I de face to help me. They talk better word to encourage me, or they send card to me, and na the thing wey I really need be that. Another thing be say, e dey fine to talk to other sisters wey face the same problems and to learn from wetin they do. And the elders de always make me feel say I dey important for the congregation.”

13. How we fit de make each other strong for our meeting?

¹³ One of the best place to encourage each other na for congregation meeting. When you go meeting, make you try de tell people things wey show say you love them, and make you de thank them for the things wey them de do. This one go help them dey strong. For example, before meeting start, one elder wey e name na Peter tell one sister wey e husband no de serve Jehovah, say: “You really de encourage us as we de see you for meeting. You de always bring your six children and you de prepare them to answer question for meeting.” This thing really touch the sister and e talk say: “This thing wey you tell me today na wetin I really need.”

14. How the preaching work de help us?

¹⁴ Power from our preaching work. When we preach to people, we de like-am and we de get power again, whether they listen or they no listen. (Prov. 11:25) One sister wey e name na Stacy see say, the preaching work de really give power. When they disfellowship one of e family member, this one really make the sister dey sad. And e continue to ask e self say, ‘E get another thing wey I for do to help this my family member, but wey I no do?’ E hard for Sister Stacy to stop to think about this problem. Wetin help Stacy start to feel okay? The preaching work! As e de preach, e de think about people for e territory wey e need to help. E talk say: “Around that time, Jehovah give me one Bible student, and the student no waste time to grow for the things wey e de learn. That one really encourage me no be small. The thing wey de make me balance well for life, na when I de go preach.”

15. Wetin you learn from the things wey Mary talk?

¹⁵ Some people fit feel say they no fit do plenty for the preaching work because of their condition. If na so you de feel, abeg, make you remember say Jehovah dey happy when you de do your best. Make we see the example of Mary again. When Mary pack go live for place wey the people de speak another language, e feel say e no dey important for there. Mary talk say, “For some time, the only thing wey I de do na to give simple comment, or read Bible  verse, or give tract when I de preach.” Sister Mary begin feel say, e no sabi speak the language like other people wey sabi speak-am well. But, e change the way e de think. The sister begin see say Jehovah fit use-am, even though say e no sabi speak the language well. E talk say, “The truth for Bible dey simple and e fit help people change their life.”

16. Wetin fit help person dey strong if e no fit leave e house but e want preach?

¹⁶ Jehovah really like-am as some of us want preach even if we no fit leave house. When people come take care of us or doctors and nurses come meet us, Jehovah fit help us make we preach for them. If we compare wetin we fit do now and wetin we don do for past, this one fit make us lose our joy. But if we understand how Jehovah de help us now, we go get the power wey we need to endure any problem and still get joy.

17. As e dey for Ecclesiastes 11:6, why we suppose continue to preach even if better result no come quick-quick?

¹⁷ When we de preach to people, we no know which person Bible truth go start to grow for e heart. (Read Ecclesiastes 11:6.) For example, one sister wey e name na Barbara, de always use telephone and letter to preach. This sister don pass 80 years. For one of the letters wey the sister write, e put Watchtower of March 1, 2014, together with the letter. The Watchtower get the article “What God Has Done for You.” But the sister no know say e send the letter to one husband and wife wey no be Jehovah Witness again. They read the magazine plenty times. And the man feel say Jehovah de talk to-am with this one. The man and e wife begin go meeting, and they start to serve Jehovah well again after more than 27 years. This one really encourage Barbara. E come dey strong as e see say better result come out from that one letter wey e write!

18. Wetin we fit do to gain from the power wey God de give?

¹⁸ We get plenty chance to get the power wey Jehovah don give us. For example, e don give us prayer, Bible, our brothers and sisters, and the preaching work. When we de use this things wey Jehovah don give us, we de show our trust for Jehovah say e fit help us and say e want help us. So make we always trust our Papa Jehovah. E de “show e power for people wey de serve-am with all their heart.”—2 Chron. 16:9.
